Incredible phone i just wish it was IP68 certified and had at least 5 years android software support and 6 years of security patch. Planning to buy it in January 2025.
The OnePlus 12 is the most underrated phone of 2024. I have the S24 Ultra and OnePlus 12 and to be honest, I like the OnePlus 12 more, especially when it comes to gaming. Ever since One UI 6.1 released, screen recording gameplay has become stuttery and laggy. The issue is less noticeable on the OnePlus 12 from my experience. In addition, the smoothness of OxygenOS reminds me a lot of iOS. The OnePlus 12 is everything what the Pixel 8 Pro should have been. The photo quality of the OnePlus 12 is the best thst I have seen on a smartphone in a long time. I do not understand why tech RU-vidrs try so hard to downplay the photo quality. I argue that it's on par with the iPhons 15 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro. It even beats the S24 Ultra. I will admit that the video recording is an area where OnePlus needs to improve. Overall, I can highly recommend the OnePlus 12 if you want to try a different Android phone, or if you are coming from an iPhone.
Great review, Vernon and you hit the nail on the head of all the advantages of this phone. I just got the May Oxygen 802 update this past Friday, and it seems a little faster and smoother now, if that's possible. Also, it's supposed to improve camera functions and image, along with the finger print sensor is more responsive too. And Vernon, I have all the display settings set the same as you along with the transition roll. Just love this phone.
Thanx for your thorough review brother. I use my phone the same way as you do. No games, serving on the internet, reading bible, biblestudy, listening gospel and praise & worship. I have had several One Plus phones and now own a Oppo Find X3 neo and in the process of finding a new phone. I live in The Netherlands and the price difference between the OP12 and the S24 ultra is about €220 more expensive, but getting two more years of support resulting in a higher resale value when selling for instance after 4 or 5 years. Which smartphone would you advice? God bless, Jan
Just got the 256GB version, OnePlus Buds 2 Pro, and the Watch 2 all less than the cost of a 256GB S24 Ultra. It's a beastly value and let's not forget to talk about how it can charge faster wirelessly than Apple, Samsung and Google can wired...bonkers.
Your videos are on point!!. I have this phone. I love using it daily for round about 3 1/2 weeks. It's impressive. Especially the battery life. The OP 12 has nice features, but good camera and a nice design. I ordered it over Amazon. I also use the OP watch 2 and OP buds pro 2. I'm pretty happy with my OP devices. Have a great sunday ❤
Could you please provide me with a comparison of the haptic feedback of the OnePlus 12 with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Google Pixel 8 Pro, and Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max? I would greatly appreciate your insights on the differences and similarities between these devices in terms of their haptic capabilities.
It is good device, but users reporting multiple issues related to throttling and poor video quality as well, updates frequency are very poor, even monthly patches they didn't released
i could buy op12 but i still have note10plus,note20u and s23u. i really want op12 csuse it has ir blaster. so i just bought a throw away phone lg v20 with ir blaster. still useable and able to run 99% of apps i used on day to day basis. it load 3 to 5 seconds so its a bit slow but useable esp i plan to use on overseas vacation.
how did you find the switch, im thinking of doing the same. Always had samsungs but they seem to all slow down with a lot of apps open so thinking to get the OP12
It’s $699.99 on Amazon for the base storage, which still isn’t bad. An extra year of OS & security would be clutch. From what I’m hearing from other people, their phones hold up over time. This is why I mentioned the amount of updates. The only area where they’re lagging behind a bit.
