Fun fact: one of Napoleon's brothers visited what would become my hometown, Cape Vincent NY. He came to see a house that some random guy built for Napoleon in case he escaped his exile. Napoleon's brother laughed at the house because it "looked like a cup and saucer." Obviously Napoleon never came to live there. The building has since been torn down and replaced with a library. But since the town has that sliver of "French heritage" we celebrate a French Festival every year the weekend after Bastille day, complete with a Miss French Festival competition. Another fun fact: I was Miss French Festival 2010.
Hank is is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States in North Carolina and South Carolina. He catches his prey-chiefly insects and arachnids-with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of his leaves, which is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces.
Hank is definitely lesser known. On youtube they may well be pretty much equally known, but in the wider world, John is known for his books and their film adaptations, whereas Hank is basically unknown.
Fascinating topic, it would be interesting to hear of other famous siblings. There certainly has to be the "screw-up" sibling in many of those famous cases.
Wayne Gretzky, has a brother named Brent who was also an NHL player. Together, they hold the record for most NHL points by a pair of brothers with 2,861 points. Wayne has 2,857 of them, Brent has 4.
Great video as always John. Question, since you say "our friends at Geico", one of those "friends" wouldn't be the Cave Man would it? I was wondering how he was doing, maybe you could ask around, you know, friend of a friend of a friend type thing? Thanks! Peace!
I'm a little surprised you didn't include Vincent/Theo Van Gogh. Perhaps because that story is pretty well known now and not as obscure as it used to be.
I knew that about Roy Disney because I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said Bring Back Roy: Save Disney, and went, what is this all about. Found out that it was his campaign to get control of Disney back because he felt the current CEO was going in the wrong direction. I feel so smart now!
Roy Disney is probably the hardest person to look up info for. i remember doing a project about him and i could barely find any books about him. Sure find all the info and Walt and Roy Edward but not Roy Oliver
Wanna know more about Phillippe I? Watch Versailles (BBC/canal +), like a posh Game of Thrones! Phillippe is played by Alexander Vlahos (Merlin) and has a side show talking about the historical topics related to each episode :)
Roy Disney - "Lesser known"? When I saw Walt's picture pop up, I was hoping to hear something about his other brothers, Herbert or Raymond, or little sister Ruth. I don't think Roy is that obscure!
