Just got a 270winchester this year in a savage axis wood stock going to hunt whitetail with it would like to see gel or deer shot with the tipped cor locks
Hi Whotee..I have weatherby vanguard in 270. Love it, but the barrel seems to heat up way faster/hotter than my Ruger American Predators. Have you experienced this? Is it a Weatherby problem or just an issue with 270? Thanks!
I’ve had pretty good results over the years with the original Corelokt in 270. Would enjoy seeing a bullet capture video with the original, and the tipped, side by side. Look forward to more 270, and more Corelokt on WTW! 😊
Have not shot Core-Lokt for decades. I have been buying it in 06 at Walmart for 21 a box. Recently decided I needed to shoot some to see how it was. At 25 yards I put 5 in one hole. Pushed the distance out and did 3 5 shot groups in 1.5 inches. I will take back all the bad stuff I have said about it, especially for 21 a box.
I love the 270 ,have had great groups with herters 130gr. But my winchester 70 pre 64 shoots just about everything sub moa and I would lower the scope nice rifle ,nice to see wood stocks also. Thank you !
Great video brother , the Remington Core Lokt is probably the best "economy " ammo on the market today. It simply works and it's readily available in most calibers.... keep ur shots 300 yards and closer and ur in business.
The 270 is one of those calibers you can use in bout any big game hunts with confidence in power, accuracy and good at long distance too. The good ole corelokt ammo has helped many hunters I know get the job done for many years now. Thanks again Who Tee Who 💯🎥👑
My dad a I have matching Winchester model 70s, in 270 win. Its crazy, even with all of the new powders, projectiles, and data, .....both of our rifles tightest groups are achieved with the original Remington Core Lokt, 150gr. round nose soft point.
I find the original is very hard to beat for accuracy in many rifles. Idk why, but when I try something newer and faster it more times than not will not group better than original core-lokt. 👍for core-lokt.
@Shawn6025 truth is , I've found since I've gotten older, and my eyesight isn't as good, just about anything I shoot has the ability to be shot more accurately by someone else....lol😂😂😂😂😂👍
Glad to see you reviewing the .270 with this ammo. Everybody thinks they need the newest, latest and greatest whizz bang caliber for hunting. A properly constructed 150 grain bullet from a .270 will drop anything on the North American Continent.
I have see thru mounts on both of my .270s . Ruger m77 Tang safety and old Remington 700 . Both have done very well for me. Good video and good shooting.
I’ve had really good luck with it. It puts the deer down quick and ethically in my experience. The only problem I had is I lost a Nontypical 11 point mule deer one year. He was huge. It could have been the bullet or my buck fever made me pull the shot, till this day idk. But I tracked the blood for over a mile and a half till I lost it. Called in a buddy still couldn’t find it. I must have pulled it. But anyways after that adventure I switched to the 145gr eld-x 270win
I'm happy you did this video. I loaded up some 270 Winchester rounds with Hornady 130 SST bullets and Stabal 6.5 and it did 3,177fps. The 145 ELDX loads were with RL-22 at 3,167fps. These will make great Deer or Elk Hunting rounds. All were Sub Moa with no pressure signs at all.
The Hornady SST 270 130 GRAIN Bullet has a muzzle velocity of 3200 FPS right out of the box but this year they have almost doubled in price. I killed my first buck at 126 yards with that round and it blew out its lung out of the entry hole.
@@ronnieskaggs8148 I know all about the Superformance 130SST factory ammo you're talking about. i'm almost there with milder hand loads of my own. Furthermore, I'm almost there with the 145 grain ELDX Hornady's at 3167fps. And it doesn't cost me 50 dollars to load up a box of 20. The factory velocities are with a 26 inch barrel. Mine is a 24.
Very interested in the 270, I have a 270 short mag so it's a short magazine a little bit more power tiny bit more a little bit more accurate so I'm extremely interested in you shooting more on the 270 I'd like to see more and see more of your heavier loads on the 270 that would be great to also thank you very much. Make sure you keep your powder drying and shoot straight. 😇🇺🇸
Great shot by little WTW! Left u a link to a cool short video on that .243 short video. Thanks for sharing as always Mr. WTW!!! Edit: WTW, would u mind sharing your thoughts on cleaning the barrel on a deer rifle like that 270 or the 243? Or do u ever clean the bore? Everyone has their own thinking on that, but you shoot more than anyone i know (well, not know really, you and HalfmileSniper are the two i pay attention to) just wondering, thanks.
currently doing expansion test for my 270 in 130 and 150 so far federal and remington seem to be doing the best the rest have been just falling apart once they hit don't know what or where I will do with the pics after I'm done but need to get more ammo prior to finishing.
Good stuff, just hard to find. Found one box at Walmart in the last few years and snagged it. If I see others I would do the same! Thanks for sharing WTW
Just saw this , Love my 270 Remington 7600 . I have taken many deer with this gun and happy with its performance. Would love to see more 270 videos whoteewhoo
Really fun video! Great shooting! You are hands down the best shooting channel on the interwebs! I don't understand how a "tipped" bullet flattens the trajectory. A spitzer is a spitzer. Right? (I could be wrong.) I thought "tipped" bullets were meant to improve expansion, and/or allow spitzer bullets to be used in tubular magazines. (LEVERevolution®) I'm not being smarty eyed, Just curious.
Everyone always worries about bc cause of drop but if u know your drop its always constant, what's actually good about high bc is less wind drift which is alot harder to predict and adjust for.
People don't realize that 1 minute at any range with a production hunting rifle is not a "gimme'. Your results mirror my experience with Remington's standard corelokt line. I don't know, if I've even shot any CoreLokt Tipped factory ammo yet. I have handloaded pretty much every thing I've shot in the last 45 years. I tend to Nosler Partitions for my hunting loads, but CoreLokts will put them down with good shot placement. There seems to be much more variety in ammo and bullets today than 40 years ago.
I did watch the live chat and then rewatch the video. Are you able to find all this core-lokt at your retail stores or are you getting a direct from factory because of you influencing because of the channel? Only reason I ask is yes I've seen some on shelves but never a lot or even in this many different calibers
I have used Rem Corelokt ammo for many years. I would expect this new Rem Corelokt tipped ammo to perform well also. I TY for your video that clearly shows this ammo is a good performer.
Good shooting!!my browning bar grade 2 will put 130 grain rem core lok them on top of each other. Saying that my rem 700 in 22-250 has same hole accuracy at that distance. Beyond that with the 22-250 i vaporized a water bottle full of water at 300 yards. Very accurate for sure so ground hogs live rough around here lol
Enjoyed the video as always should be good ammo when Remington was bought out In bankruptcy they sent federal's top top guys down to modernize and update Remington
Heck ya brother fun with the son nothing better he will remember that long after your gone would love to see more of you and your sons hunts super cool
I have had great luck with the original core lok in my tikka .270 I have been using federal blue box 85 grain in my .243, will definitely try these tipped core loc
Adam having your rings a little high not a bad thing . Since your flinging bullets that meant for longer distance you won't run out of clicks. I haven't tried any Tipped core lock tips yet maybe someday They are priced a little high for my blood. Most I have paid for a Box of Cartridges was 75.00 for a box of 26 Nosler. I about fell over. I still haven't flung them yet lol.
They do not shoot well in my M77 ruger. Tried hornady and Remington. Both were all over the place. And have heard from avid hunters that if they don't hid a heavy bone th3y won't expand passing through and not making a killing wound.
My man Who_Tee_Who I know this question has nothing to do with to 270 Core-Lokt Boolots you are a slingin to day But I do have to say You murdered those groups with the 6.5 Creedmore FANTASTIC Shootin My question is where can I find the lyrics to your theme song at the end of your videos. You're singin about 30-06 , and slingin Boolots I think it's AWESOME so yeah If you can post them somewheres or DM me with I would oh so much appreciate it . Now I'm going to watch your video on the 270 Winchester. Be safe and have a GREAT evening
Bro you may want to float the barrel on that 270 Weatherby. Your groups are "walking" around quite a bit with a little warming of the barrel. From you good buddy from Edmonton, Alberta, where the "MEN ARE MEN AND THE WOMEN ARE DOUBLE BREASTED" LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you done a test with these in 7mm mag out of ur Remington 770 I am a Winchester 150 gr guy but there hard to find I know every gun is different but I'd like see another 770 Remington sling some befor I pay $64.99 a box of 20
Great video as always sir 👍 I do have to ask again whether you have a tap in my house. Been talking just last night about qgoing for 270 Remington or 7mm-08 for my next rifle 😂
That Weatherby is a nice looking rifle, but it doesn't group well at all, because I know you can shoot. You can group super good with all your other rifles. Either hang it on the wall to look at, or get rid of it . Get yourself a Remington. I have nothing against Weatherby ,but that gun not a grouper.
