This was the biggest fish the captain had caught in 4 years. 85-inch 276-pound halibut out of Seward, Alaska at J-Dock Company. This was an unreal day and to think I wasn't going to video is crazy. I was smart enough to bring my camera in my bag. So these are most of the clips I got from that day. Thanks to those who watched the whole series. Alaska treated us well. - Clayton McWhorter

276-Pound Halibut ? ! / I read once that your 10 lbs., Pound Halibut was the best tasting. That being the case [ except for Prize Fishing ] I would never want to " Catch " Let alone " Eat ' a " Large Halibut " !

Seward is a good place to go. Caught my limit pretty easy and I had the fish captain release any fish smaller than 45 pounds. Lost a monster and a couple big ones. Still the bigger fish were two at 69 pounds and two at 65 pounds. Before we left I saw guys along the shore there snagging king salmon near these culverts that went into the ocean. High tide they can make it up. I snagged one that was 32 pounds right on the dorsal fin. That was a crazy fight. Danced on his tail a lot. Did not realize till later those other fishermen only wanted the big ones over 45 pounds. I missed a fish and my snagging hook flew out of the water and wrapped around the legs of the other fisherman 18 feet away. He did not look pleased. As a Dual Canadian Citizen I said sorry. Smoked all of our salmon in a Little Chief Smoker.

Years ago I saw a poodle get carried off by an Eagle pretty much down town.You could hear that little dog echo out in the distance. Shoes got thrown and those old cell phones, one got thrown. People were walking ahead of me and thought it was safe to take their dog off its leash and then there was a winged shadow and the rest history. I must not be to nice of a person because I almost laughed out loud. Someone weighed a fish in the center of town and broke the beam holding the fish up. They had to weigh it at the fish factory. Was something like 340 360. Was not a record but a big fish.

just finished the series. Nice fish. ...guessing you shipped back 200+lbs of packaged fish? "next time" is what everyone thinking about before they even leave. It's a very addictive place with so much to see and do, especially for people into outdoor activities.

We shipped as much as we could! There will 100% be a next time, no doubt.

Was the meat any good on a fish that size? Worms?
@nintendude1988
@nintendude1988 Год назад
@@IslandstonrOf course it had worms, most every fish in the ocean has worms, regardless of if they can be seen or not. regardless of that I'm sure it was still good

Question why are you keeping the large fish which are the breeders for the future. Not a good practice take a picture then let it go and dont be morons

I can assure you there is no lack of halibut in that area. I appreciate the concern. That fish was roughly 25 years old
