The SG3525A, SG3527A pulse width modulator control circuits offer
improved performance and lower external parts count when implemented for controlling all types of switching power supplies i,e. buck converter, forward converter, half bridge, full bridge, push pull, boost converter, buck boost converter, continuous or discontinuous mode flyback SMPS. its on-chip +5.1 V reference is trimmed to ±1% and the error amplifier has an input common-mode voltage range that includes the reference voltage, thus eliminating the need for external divider resistors. A sync input to the oscillator enables multiple units to be slaved or a single unit to be synchronized to an external system clock. A wide range of dead-time can be programmed by a single resistor connected between the CT and Discharge pins. These devices also feature built-in soft-start circuitry, requiring only an external timing capacitor. A shutdown pin controls both the soft-start circuitry and the output stages, providing instantaneous turn off through the PWM latch with pulsed shutdown, as well as soft-start recycle with longer shutdown commands. The under voltage lockout inhibits the outputs and the changing of the soft-start capacitor when VCC is below nominal. The output stages are totem-pole design capable of sinking and sourcing in excess of 200 mA. The output stage of the SG3525A features NOR logic resulting in a low output for an off-state while the SG3527A utilized OR logic which gives a
high output when off.

• 5.1 V ± 1.0% Trimmed Reference
• 100 Hz to 400 kHz Oscillator Range (maximum 500KHZ)
• Separate Oscillator Sync Pin
• Adjustable Deadtime Control
• Input Undervoltage Lockout
• Latching PWM to Prevent Multiple Pulses
• Pulse-by-Pulse Shutdown
• Dual Source/Sink Outputs: ±400 mA Peak

Do you think that you can put out a video on the UC1526/3526ADW? It is virtually the same chip with 2 extra pins for Is+ & Is-. The datasheets I've found, leave much to be desired as far as as true mains AC-DC converter application. All I can find are instructions on how to make DC-AC inverter designs, which if working with a 12V starting voltage, can be realized via BJT's.

Thank you so much for making the time to make this wonderful video! I have a powered speaker with a power supply that uses both this KA3525A as well as a VIPer22A. The data sheets both say they are used for SMPS. The VIPer22A is used on the primary side of the transformer, while the KA3525A is used on the secondary side of the transformer. Can you comment on why someone would use both of these? Thanks again!

best regards viper22a is a standby power section. this section turns on directly, when plugged in when we turn on power key or from remote, that time ka3525 turns on to deliver main power supply, required by amplifiers and other power consuming elements

Hi there, i am having an 12v/220V inverter where the SG3525 AP is having 5,7v in the pin10 shutdown so the IC is not working. Where those 5,7v come from ? is it from the protection inverter circuit or it is a bad SG3525 that needs to be changed. Pins 13 and 15 are both linked to the same capacitor. Thanks

I am looking at a schematic for a PLx- 1602 amplifier… it has a sg3525an, in power supply The + input is tied to the vref(5.1v) The - is tied to PRI_LO So it’s full on all the time ?????

Hi sir, one of the PWM outputs of this SG3525A is higher in VPP than the other output. This can also be noticed after the secondary rectification as one of the square wave is taller than the next one. What can cause this issue?

I have watch all the calculations videos and really understand, but you did not calculate the input pi filter(before transformer) and output lc filter, rectifier(after transformer) and full connection and calculation(practical) for the feedback using SG3525A , please can you help show us thanks.

these calculations are in process, EMI / RFI filter. MOSFET selection, output rectifier, filter design calculations are in to be done after completion of all calculations the full circuit will integrated and designed practically

I have the same microchip. If 1 leg rings on the 12th leg and the second leg rings on the 16th leg, the microcircuit is not working properly?

pin 16 is V Ref (5 volt Reference voltage) when we provide operating voltage to pin 15 & 13 then this pin number 16 must provide 5 volt DC regulated pin 12 is ground pin if we connect something to pin 16 and the chip doesn't work, it means that there is some short circuit is have something wrong. the ic must provide 5 volt regulated from its pin number 16. by connecting some component, if this pin drops than 5 volt, the ic will not start, because this is basic requirement of the IC

When I connect feedback to pin 1 and ground pin the IC just shutdown the dutycycle doesn't reduce my feedback voltage is 6.5v I connected the pin 2 to pin 16 please can you tell me why it shut's down when I connect the feedback

Hi, that's my problem too, it shuts down ,it does not decrease the Duty Cycle; tried lots of ways,and i cannot get it to reduce the Duty Cycle down from the 49%; Does anyone know how to do it, imean, no theory please, someone who really has done it,and how? I think pin 9 MUST(?) be involved, i see that in all circuits; Thanks
