It is so beautiful......love the composition, the colors and how there is a contrast of lights/darks, hard and soft edges!! Gorgeous absolutely gorgeous and yes it would have been beautiful on a large canvas. I don't blame you for using a smaller one though just to see how it went but now you know...you are able to do a great job with cloud pours!!!!!
I love this Chris! The colors are amazing! Love the penguin 😄 Meant to be here earlier, but my niece stopped by. Hope you have a great week 🥰 Becky from Iowa
That’s a great composition. In any direction, it would look good. Beautiful! I got good results mixing 1 part pigment with 3 parts floetrol. Very nice pearls. They were DecoArt Metallic Mattes paints.
Chris, I am a new subscriber and want to say your pour is wonderful. I’m not usually a big fan of green (unless it’s lime green) but I love the green in its various shades. I’m going to give your simple cloud recipe a try. Thanks.
Thank you Belinda! This is an older video...I'll have to watch it myself and see why I would have said that LOL! I actually designed clothing from it, so I must have changed my mind later on!
Darn!!! I missed your live. Even had the reminder set. Nonetheless..... It's friggin gorgeous Chris..... My favorite technique and wow it's beautiful ❤️
This is gorgeous Chris! When I use Creative Inspirations, I get some obnoxious lacing more than cute puffy clouds, but perhaps thicker mix will fix that 😅
Gorgelicious!!!! Wow! Chris, this is amazing 👏 😍 You should do it again on a large canvas!!! It would be terrific!! Your penguin is so cute- he's even got an eye. Looks like another is following him. Reminds me of the one you did before with the penguin. 🐧
I just love the colours in this one, they fit so well together...the violet and pastachio paints are so gorgeous, too. The composition reminds me of those Japanese cartoons (not that I know anything about those at all lol), like some sort of otherwordly underwater cave or something...and that's meant in a complimentary way btw!! LOL I'm new to all this fluid art and it just fascinates me learning how such an amazing composition can be created. Very clever.
Thank you so much, Naomi and welcome to my channel! I try to provide a wide variety of techniques and even some brush painting, so be sure to check my playlists. I like your playful interpretation!
I have just started watching your Channel and love the cloud pour you’ve done here. I think I’ve missed something- where and when do you use the satin enamel??. Thank you
Welcome to my channel! The satin enamel is the white paint (no other white added), mixed two parts Floetrol to one part paint with just a touch of water. Details are always provided in the description box. 😘
I'm fairly new to acrylic pouring and have attempted the 'cloud effect' recently. Since you are the expert on this, please tell me one thing. Do I have to use specific brands or colors of acrylic paints along with the cloud mix to get the effect? For example, say Liquitex Basics works with the cloud mix and makes gorgeous clouds and Brand XYZ does nothing at all when poured with the cloud mix. Is that the norm? We have to figure out which colored acrylic paints will react with the cloud mix to get any clouds?
Rhonda, I am not an expert on the cloud pour by any stretch. I've had about as many flops as successes, which is par for the course with fluid art. I think the secret to success has more to do with consistency than brands of paint. I always detail recipe and ratios as well as paint brands and colors in the description box of every video. If you are just beginning, I suggest you master the flip cup or straight pour before moving on to more challenging techniques, like the cloud pour, Dutch, etc. Hope that helps.
I just discovered your channel while looking for cloud pour recipes and I just fallen in love ❤ This pour is amazing! One question as I’m not sure I understand the description properly. You mixed DecoArt Satin Enamel with Floetrol (1:2) and touch of water? Or added anything else there? Satin Enamel is pretty thin by itself so when I mixed it with so much floetrol, it was much thinner than the colors. Is that intended?
Welcome to my channel! I mixed it exactly the same as the colors, just Floetrol and water. I have another more complicated recipe you can find in my playlists under Cloud Pours. I alternate between the two. 😊
So pretty! The Paynes grey that you used really turned a beautiful blue with the satin enamel. This is striking enough to stand alone but I'm curious to know if you have embellishments planned for this one.😊💙💚💙💚💙
I mixed it just like the other colors (detailed in description box)...two parts Floetrol, one part paint (the satin enamel) plus a bit of water. No other white added.
