Along with the first low floor Spectra R1NEG, Metrobus B811AOP was allocated to the car park shuttle service. The ride was nice and it sounded just like a typical Metrobus should be, apart from the retarder scream which was a bit weird to me.
Sorry for the image distortion in the later part of the video. Seems that my Canon didn't like the rattle, and although it responds much faster, it couldn't cope with vibrations as good as my older Nikon...

0:11 is the sound that any true Midlander will know. I really miss "wooing" around the Midlands on these, I'll never forget those flowery seatbacks and side panels(!)

Hearing this sound I’m taken back 35 years to catching the 9 from park road to Stourbridge and back and into Birmingham and also on the 246 and 257 and sometimes on the 247 and 8 lovely buses miss the sound effects of these

I adore these vehicles way better than the plastic crap we have to put up with now days, that engine note and gearbox clunk, well just everything about these just brings back a lot of great memories

If I got hold of one of these MCW Metrobuses, the one thing that I would love to do is repaint it into standard RoadCar livery and replace the destination blind with destinations around the Lincolnshire area.....
