I'm glad the official ending of this film is where Jim survived to be rescued alongside Selena & Hannah since the alternate ending of the film had Jim die & Selena & Hannah were left alone.

There are no zombies in this movie they are infected with a rage virus and thats why die from starvation and when Jim kills the little kid before the military shows up the little kid is speaking saying I hate you over and over until Jim kills him

Can't decide if its worse to experience the onset of the infrection and be up to date on whats going on or in Jim's case, wake up when there's less infected around but also no people possibly (not everyone would be saved by a Serena & Marc)

Fun fact, the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, directed by Zack Snyder, was influenced by 28 Days Later in relation to the fast zombies. Additionally, it really wouldn't be accurate to call the, "zombies," in this film zombies. They're just infected and that's what's terrifying; the fact that these are not reanimated dead people. They are infected living people. And just another fun fact, Danny Boyle, the director of this film, never intended this to be a zombie film. If I remember correctly, he said the movie was supposed to be a reflection of social rage. Great reaction, you two!

I read somewhere that Ruck Grimes hospital scene was inspired by this movie. Also this always reminds me of 2020 lockdown. It's creepy, it's eerie but it's actually kind of peaceful in a way?

Surprisingly it’s a complete coincidence. Robert Kirkman, the writer of the comics the show is based on, had already written issue 1 with Rick waking up from a coma before seeing this movie. He did consider changing his opening because the movie did it before him but he decided the overall story was different enough so he kept it the same.

I HIGHLY suggest the standalone sequel to this movie, titled "28 weeks later"!!!!!!!! If you choose to watch it I'll be clicking that like video so fast my eyes won't even see it happen and my brain might enter a wormhole through time and space by breaking the sound barrier with the speed of my index finger on that left click.
