My mom is picking up 2 dozen duck eggs in a day or two. They are cayuga, runner, and pekin. She is letting me hatch 6-8 to raise! I am so excited! My incubator is also very simular to yours.
@@myboringlife2019 The eggs are doing fantastic, thank you! I have 6 in my incubator, and they are due to pip sometime around may 26th. I candled them today, and the little babies are getting huge and moving like crazy. I love them so much already💕
@@harte13689 Sure! 5 out of the 6 eggs hatched, 4 cayugas and one rouen. They are growing their first feathers, catching bugs, and some are quacking at only 3.5 weeks old. I cant get enough of their cuteness! The like to be held too, and follow me when I call "duck duck duck" wich makes it that much better!
@@StigaZ you have to turn the eggs 2 Times a day in morning and evening. You have to cool down the eggs 10 min a day and you can spray some water on the eggs to(if its a Duck egg).
I love Metzer egss hatch rate is awesome..... my first time ever hatching ( 3yrs ago) and i got omost 20 eggs and all hatched 😆 This year i got 6 eggs but air sacs seem no existing 😢
Your video was so helpful! Thank you. I have two eggs in an incubator on day 16 after the mother duck left the nest 2 days ago, and I have been wondering if the embryos are still alive. I think they are. :-)
I'm a newbie and learning but everything I've learned is thrown out the window after watching your video. You candled almost everyday and yet you've had an amazing hatch rate..ducks are still wet and you didn't appear to have followed the 3 day lockdown rule and yet an amazing hatch rate. Lid to incubator was off sooooo many times and for a good period of time and yet an incredible hatch rate. Was humidity ever a concern for you and if so what did you keep it at? Did you dry or wet hatch? Thanks!!!!
I never counted the days when my eggs are going too hatched because I just saw them in the nest and they were already starting too late. It's been 20+ days and I'm now seeing slight movement like above the air sac in a specific angle in the light. Does that mean it's going to hatch soon?
I have a question.. So I am close to my duck hatching and when i candle it the air pocket looks great and the veins are still visible but ive only seen movement a couple of times. There is a big dark space, but I'm just concerned as there isn't too much movement .. Thank you xx
@@myboringlife2019 I'm trying to hatch ducklings and all of them were viable and I'm loosing them pretty fast. Just trying to figure out if it's something I'm doing wrong
So... the period between they hatch and they are dry, do you just leave them in there with no food? How does that work out? You have to wait for them to try out right? So the first few hours what do you do for care until first meal, and how long is that?
Okay so I have 5 eggs in a incubator, but we’re on day 27 and I don’t see much movement except for one of the eggs but one seems to be “pipping” but I didn’t see any movement 🤷🏻♀️ also I know it says to leave them in an incubator for 24 hours to dry but the one I have doesn’t seem very roomy and I’m worried it’s not safe in there for them to stay because of the size any suggestions? And how long should I wait to assist them
If we candle them too much, it can make them stressed, and decrease the temperature and humid, which can cause the problem in their process. Thank you sir.
My Boring Life its okay but only one survive I really didnt pay attention about the veins and I thought all of them will hatch. Anyways your videos really helped me alot I’m the one who messed up since its my first time hatching duck eggs
Great vids. I was having doubts mine would survive I have a week to go and after seeing your vid I feel like mine still might be ok. Doesn’t move as much as yours but it does move a little
