Love the advice. Been Ubering mostly since 2017. Some in Buffalo, NY and Erie, PA. Both cities are tough to make full time. But, Erie keeps me busy. A good solid day is 15-20; $100-$125. As a retired teacher, not a bad side hustle.

I love the one about the Ozium. Makes the car smell like it's been professionally cleaned. Listing to ppl .that's when you learn something new and sometimes enriching. Tissue and charger. Enough w the candy ,snacks, and water.weee not a concession stand on wheels. Well done sir.

Great video! The destination mode sucks in my experience. I have used it more than 10 times and most of the time it takes me in the opposite. I've contacted Lyft and Uber about this, so hopefully they resolve it.

Thank you - today was day 2 of doing uber rideshare - this video helps. I did uber eats before and that at least shows you how much you are gonna make and the total miles - before accepting and people tip and usually tip more after the delivery - I am in Portland OR and I dont like how uber rideshare does not show the payment or total miles until after you accept it and seems like the majority of people DON'T tip :(

Nice to hear positive. I reached my limit though, 8500 trips. Traffic, loss of hearing, prostate problems (have to pee every 45 minutes)

I have had the pleasure of driving a few celebrities on Uber/Lyft rides. A lot of them have been musicians or comedians. I treat them like I would anybody else. Most are on the road and just want to know from a local what restaurants they should try and what else the area has to offer. This is one of the biggest lessons I have learned that leads to better tips. Know the area you drive in, know what the restaurants are known for, know what your area has to offer, know the points of interest and why they are points of interest. If a rider asks me a question about the area I'm in and I don't have an answer for them I make sure I know the answer for the next person that asks.

Does the destination filter work for you as you describe? That thing regularly sends me an hour in the OPPOSITE direction I need to go! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!

Be a contrarian driver is how i put it when other drivers don't want to work. Rideshare is kinda like fishing in a pond. The earlier you're out there, the more fish you get. The more fishers in the pond, the less fish there is to go around. So pick another pond. This doesn't have to be a different city with Rideshare. There are always different sections of a city that have less drivers to fill rider demand. Most Uber drivers focus their attention to the downtown area, or middle of the city. When demand is slow, traffic is congested, get out of the downtown area because more than likely, another area of the city is experiencing lower supply of drivers.

Just completed 33700 uber trips & 1700 lyft trips in 8 years.

The destination filters are soooooo off. I can't wait till they correct it.

Lyft and Uber are the most difficult business to deal with and have a smile on your face, Forget about the drivers they sponsored out there to talk good about them. I have many personal problems to see how difficult they are . I can't believe how this great country allow them to operate and treat driver like an animal even though they has the support from the government. And that make them not to care about the drivers. Am a professional limo driver for over twenty years now and when the business went down I joined Uber/Lyft. When you pick up any rider who have a bad day and report you about your driving they will not listen to you but the riders and they will just deactivate you for ever no matter your explanation.

Congratulations Jay 28,000 trips I'm at about 20,000 closing it on you lol. But one big tip I would give everybody with upfront pricing is know your area very well. It's a lot easier to judge if it's a good or bad trip if you know exactly where you're going traffic conditions and everything else

My immediate problem with them now. One day on May 6th, 2024. They put my driver app on hold since then, They said I have an invalid driver license which is not through. I went to State Driver License office five times to get my MVR and send it to them including my licence which is Valid written boldly on it but guess what they don't trust the document from the state but their system. Till now they refused to open my driver app so that I can start driving because I have family to feed. Since that date I can not work. May GOD help us from their business. Thanks

In my Market, Lyft shows that drivers are only making $23/hr on their own site. Rideshare is only viable if you can CONSISTENTLY make over $30/hr. Your expenses, need to save to replace a car every few years (full-time driver), and inflation makes it necessary.

When I use destination they took me away I tried this over 15 times so I stopped using it

Every single mark is different driving at all of LA will make you some serious cash but in my market is a joke it’s a joke. I’ve been driving on and off part time for 4.5 years amount and I don’t know how you guys make the money for me, but in this market the rides average between five and eight dollars sometimes a nine dollar ride and rarely anything over $12 and then, you may do one but it’s so far away for the time to get back to that area. I can tell you out here in western New York Weather it’s night Friday Saturday I did a ride today for $12 for miles to go pick her up and 20 miles to take it OK you guys in la would probably get $60

You give great advice but I would not give advice if you have not experienced it yourself first hand. Leasing a Tesla is not a good advice unless you want to work 12 to 14 hour days. i leased a tesla for a week when I had to take my hybrid in to get it fixed. Final cost to lease, get insurance and for the charge $640. The milage after each charge was about 215, so If I wanted to work 8 to 10 hours I would had to charge the car 2 twice a day which adds about 2 hours to the day. So by your standards of 10 hour days and making $200. Expect to work 12 hours and giving back 60% back on the car.

I try not to drink too much, I hate when I have to stop & pee!

The most important and the first thing you need to have is a dash cam in your car.

I strongly disagree with the tip jar idea left on some comments, I've notice in my 5 years as a 5-star driver the entire time that on average pre-pandemic years 1 out of 3 riders would tip during the height of the pandemic 1 out of 2 riders were leaving a tip, in 2021 things started to normalize and went back to 1 out of 3 riders tipping towards the middle of 2022 things started getting worse and noticed riders tipping less and less on average it was 1 out of 4 riders and then towards the end of 2022 and especially all of 2023 the new average became a meager 1 out of 10 riders are now tipping its a little better on the weekends but don't expect many tips during the weekdays. Obviously the dramatic interest hikes of 2022 are starting to take effect on the real economy and folks are truly struggling, I see it everyday especially being in the Southern California region with insane cost of living. I understand the mindset that a tip jar serves as a reminder that tips are expected and appreciated, but I'm in the camp that a tip jar makes almost all riders to feel uncomfortable and pressured into giving tips, but with the economy in such bad shape as of 2020 this added pressure is almost insulting to most riders who could barely even afford taking a rideshare. So my best advice is to be an all-star driver by providing the best service possible and the 28 tips on this video were all great examples on being a top driver. I do agree that leaving candies and mints on the door handles but I would highly recommend on not giving any gum (one of the very few times I've actually offered gum to a passenger I drove over an hour to LAX, and the guy left the chewed up gum on the door handle, which I thought was extremely disrespectful and disgusting, so I could only imagine leaving gum for the thousands of rides I have given and how much chewed gum would end up on the door handles, floor mats and even worse on the seats, so a BIG NO on having complimentary gum, I suggest having 2-3 options such as soft mints like Bob's Stripes and a hard individually wrapped candy like lemonheads, I've noticed many passengers like the Airheads, the best alternative to gum I've actually welcomed a few passengers with horrible breath eat the airheads and smiled to myself on how much better their breath was after eating the airheads.) I've gotten $100 tips on a few occasions and $50 tips on $3 rides, a $20-30 tip is amazing, but these days $5 tips mean a lot and are highly appreciated. My number one tip which he touched on is ALWAYS having a clean car and the rubber mats makes life easier when it comes to washing your car and the best place I recommend washing your own car is paying the $20-25 subscription fee at one of those drive-thru carwash places that offer unlimited washes by simply giving them your credit card information and having the $20 taken out automatically every month. I wash my car at least 4-5 times a week and the $20 is well worth it for unlimited washes. I also recommend having a small Fabreze Air freshener spray bottle and buying the larger one gallon bottle to refill the small spray bottle that you leave inside the car at all times, on top of having the ozium or small clipon air vent air fresheners. My car always gets complimented on how clean and fresh it smells. Lastly but not least be an excellent driver, good driving skills are a must not only for everyone's safety but being an excellent driver leads to better tips! Make everyone feel like a VIP asking them how the air temperature feels in the back a few minutes after the ride started and within the first minute ask them if your music playing is ok or if they have any music preferences if you can't get a read as to which music they like, I've become a DJ of sorts being a top driver and have a variety of gonro Playlist on apple music that I choose before we get rolling. A long read but if you made it this far I'm sure you will see an increase on your tips. Drive safely Over and Out!

If you like to make money with illegal Uber you must accept only short trips and stick around the area do not drive faraway do not accept long trips if you do you are just wasting your time and gaz and the end you will end up working only for gaz and making your self tire . So listen up earn money by accepting short distance trips ok play smart don’t play slave .
