Another excellent video. Any ovservations about watch full video % to video lengths. Expect that shorter length videos should have a higher percentage but would be great to see examples of how 2 videos of similar lengths from the same niche / account performed once the watched full video % increased slightly

For shorter videos (30seconds or less) you definitely need at or above 100% watch time. You don’t need as high a percentage with longer videos but it’s still a high percentage. For side by side, I’ve had a 5 sec video with 5 second watch time get a few thousand views, but the same length with a million views had over 7 seconds average watch time. Hope that helps!

Great video! I have a TikTok based on music production which I grew to 1k followers but I haven't posted in about a year and its dropped down to about 850. In one of your videos you mention posting about 2-3 videos from the jump on a new profile. Would you recommend I do that to revamp my account or should I start a whole new TikTok, even though the style of content on my current account might slightly differ from the content I'm ready to put out (still same niche though)

I’m really struggling with getting out of the 200/300 views, I just wanted to know, do I open a new account and start using these hacks, or how long would you recommend for me to use the current account and see if there’s any changes? Not really. Mine was like $20 and I just plug it in and go. Always sounds good. In all honesty though, that is not the mic you hear in my YT videos. It’s a backup mic. I actually record my audio on my computer using a nicer mic and keep the lav mic in my iPhone (which I use to record) so that the backup audio is better than the phone mic. My editor combines the phone video and computer audio with the lav as my backup.

What’s your goal? It’s good that you have a separate account for each type of content but I wouldn’t necessarily default to the one that’s doing best unless you enjoy both accounts equally. Think about your goals, which one is more important to you.

It's hard to say with so little info, but don't focus on comparing your new content to your old content. Just study what worked in the past and make more of that. Also study other creators in your niche to find out what is working for them right now, and make content like that too.

I've faced some issues with the tiktok uploadings quality. When I'm watching my prepared-to-post videos at the gallery, they look really clean, but after uploading them to tiktok, they look hella trash. My device, i'm shooting and editing vids on - Iphone 14 pro. Talking about the WIFI i'm using, there are no problems with it, it's 1gb/s. Yes, i have already turned on the "Allow high-quality uploads"" setting before posting. Thank you for helping me. P.S your content is really valuable, you're so underrated.

Thank you! I don’t know a ton about the tech side of things so I don’t know how well I can answer this. The one thing I do know is that TikTok had this quality cap for HD content and if you record in better quality than what they use they will reduce the quality. I don’t know the exact details but have had this confirmed by creators that are more into cinematography and things than I am.

Should you repost with the repost feature of tiktok or download it with some app and upload it as a new tiktok? I often heard that you should use the repost feature because the algorithm can find a lookalike audience to go viral again.

The repost button on TikTok is like a retweet. That’s not what I mean. Download your video with snaptik.app and then publish it again as a new video. That usually allows you to go viral a second or even third time.

Just curious, you said to NOT delete the original video when you are reposting it (Hack #7). Why should I not delete the original post?

TikTok doesn’t like it when you delete videos. They consider it spam like behavior. And even if you delete it, the video is in the system so if you repost it they flag it as unoriginal content and it won’t get views. The other thing is that videos sometimes have delayed views. One of my most viral videos had 500 views before going viral two weeks later. You just never know.

No not at all! You can have multiple accounts on a device (I do!) The problem is when you post a video from one account onto the other. That makes you look spammy and gets you banned.

High watch time percentage is the number one factor to going viral in the current TikTok meta. So it’s not that longer videos can’t go viral as often, it’s just that it’s easier to get higher average watch time with shorter videos and making short videos is a good way to learn retention techniques and get views early on.

There’s not really an answer to that. It varies for everyone. Try to great over 200-300 views for starters and then keep improving.

Zero views are either a glitch or a policy violation. Check the video analytics and if it says ineligible then it violates policy.

6.5 second video, average watch time is 8.2 seconds. Peaked at 800 views with 140 likes. Any logical explanation on why the algorithm stopped pushing the video?

Just how it goes sometimes. There are other metrics that are considered as well. For example, maybe you’re getting good watch time, but a higher than normal number of people are swiping past the video instead of stopping to watch. It clearly did well with the people who actually watched, so download it with snaptik and try reposting it in two weeks to see if it does better the second time.

Time to experiment with something new then! If what you’ve always done isn’t getting views then you need to find something that works. Study other creators in your space and try new things.

That’s not actually true. A lot of people think that’s the case because only videos over 1 minute long can be monetized under the Creativity Beta Program, but short content still gets pushed by the algorithm and performs very well for views and growth. The key is to use a mix of the two types of content like I teach in these videos.

Hi Mike! Back again. Great advice last time (Remember me? The guy with subniches within his niche.) I get like 20k to 30k views regularly now. Once in 3 weeks one can grow to 100 to 140k. But how do I get more of the 20-30k vids to go over a 100k? Like the video's do REALLY well in engagement, i'm talking 2000 favs, 2000 comments etc. So how come tiktok doesn't push it even more? Is this all because of retention? Got a clue?. Cause once a vid goes past 100k my sales REALLY skyrocket!!

Okay, I’m not sure if I’m having Deja vu, I could have sworn I saw this comment earlier in the week and responded! 100k+ videos are going to be way more rare, and if you’re regularly doing 20k-30k you are crushing it. Those numbers will naturally start to increase over time as your audience grows, but if you want more videos to hit 100k+ you really need to study the viral ones you’ve already had. Pay attention to the background where your record, the topic, video length, hook, format of the content. Start reusing those things because if they worked once they will work again. Yes and No. This isn’t RU-vid where your content is shown to your followers first. Your content is shown to new people on the FYP and anyone can go viral even if it’s their first video. With that said, virality is mostly tied to watch time and if you have a ton of loyal followers who go to your profile and watch your videos the whole way through it can give you a bit of a push. Long story short, it gets easier to get views when you have a bigger following but it’s a minor boost. It’s really about better content and bigger creators go viral more often because they have the practice and know what works.

We’ve found that anything under 5 seconds tends to do poorly. That’s the minimum from what I can tell, at least if you want it to perform well.

Hello matt and merry christmas. I would like to sell.. Road To riches. ... It seems it's dominated by women especially moms. How do I market to To them being a guy. Or should I just market to men . What’s road to riches? I’ve never heard of that. If you want to sell anything you need to build an audience helping people with the things your product (even if it’s an affiliate product) is meant to solve. And you want to share your unique personality and perspective to build an audience of people that know like and trust you. So it doesn’t matter if most of the people promoting it are women and you’re a man, as long as it’s a product that men would be interested in. If it is, then you’ll have a competitive advantage since you won’t have to fight as many people for the same audience.

You got banned for a policy violation. You’ll need to start a new account. If you’re doing edits/clips (just guessing from your name) be careful because it will be easy to violate the unoriginal/low value content policy
