That's a nice trailer, Joe. Every time I see the Case 430 I get memories from growing up on the farm driving one. Diesel version(good times). Thanks for sharing.
Great looking trailer Joe. 1 of 200 is pretty cool. You guys in Canada have some excellent off road dump trailer manufacturers to choose from. Normand, Supertilt, Pronovost, Berkelman's Welding, to name a few.
Creekbank, Miro, AM Machinery are other options too! You are right. I did not realize it until I was looking for a log trailer and came to understand we have a very good choice here! Thanks!
That is a great looking trailer. It makes a lot of sense to have wood sides, the ones over here are metal and they all have damage from a bucket. It is very handy to be able to take quick pictures with a phone. I am looking forward to seeing the trailer in action
Hi Joe! I’m rather late watching this video, but that’s a nice dump trailer you bought there. That 3 stage telescoping cylinder is amazing! It must take a lot of fluid from your hydraulic reservoir to extend it fully. Clever idea using a valve with a float position to lower the dump trailer. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Initially, in my search for a new dump trailer, I was looking for one with double action cylinders, so it would use minimal oil. My old Case carry 5-6 gallons of hydraulic oil (not used for moving, it's geared) and it's not like a gas tank, you cannot draw oil out of it until the last quarter... the pump itself runs in the bath of oil... I am sure you know what I mean. Then the seller told me it uses only 1 gallon and this is true! I have not figured out yet how it is possible, but it works! Thanks!
That is an idea sized trailer, Joe and the fact it has such a dumping angle makes it very useful too. I do like those 2 x 10 side boards another good idea.
I works very well up to now... but guess what, I've already started to modify it! Lol! The 2x10s are great. I did hit the size the other day and the only thing I had is a small piece of wood that came off. Thanks!
Nice trailer! One thing I suggest is running a chain from your trailer mover to your drawbar on your 3 point hitch to keep the 3 point hitch from raising when loading or dumping.
I've done that before with my other tractor. It has the normal 3pt hitch. This one has the draft control and it will raise automatically if it senses some significant restriction. So the chain would need to be very strong if it would suddenly lift. So I put a ball directly on the drawbar!!! Thanks!
Good Evening Joe 👍😇👌It is so funny that you are feeling guilty by ( clapping you hands and swigging your arms !!! ) Very Nice trailer and easy greaseable axel like on my trailer 👌😇👍Very nice speedy tractor, I miss driving it 👍😇👌Great Cold start 👌😇👍60 years old ( that is very good !!! ) 💪😇 Yes the slop is very good toward your septic field 😮 Thank You Joe for your OUTSTANDIGN video and say Hi to Chef Céline Cheers 🍻🍻
I really like the telescoping cylinder dump. It dumps at a steeper angle than mine. I often will get sticky clay or topsoil stuck in mine at max dump angle. What is the load capacity of it? Nice tractor, too!
It's good for 3 tons. And it still lifts it with my old Case 430 with only 1300 psi. I did have some dirt to stick, but it was quite wet with recent rain and only a few shovel was left in it. I like the chamfered corners for that. Thanks Glen!
Salut Joe!! That's a nice trailer and heavy duty. Some nice that you can source it locally too. That makes a big difference in my mind. Just curious where you bought the directional valve. Was it a Princess Auto purchase? Great to see you posting again. Take care!!
Hello Mike! Yes, I got the valve from Princess Auto! It's not that heavy duty, but good enough for my need. But most importantly, light enough to be used with my small Case tractor. Thanks!
Méchant beau trailer mon ami. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Unrelated question for the man who knows so much.... I noticed your fire extinguisher with the ''Peannut Butter Protector'' lol. I have the same on my tractor. I bought it 3 years ago and I check periodically that the pressure is in the green. Do you know if there is a duty life on those or any regular maintenance to do? Cheers
