So many leaders and legends on this Chelsea squad. They are much more disciplined than players today and can always switch roles/positions with each other on the pitch.
@@RamesesBoltonbit late but think Chelsea got worse because it upset the balance. Instead of sticking with 3 in midfield they tried to shoehorn ballack in with the trio , replacing one of the wingers
joe cole and arjen robben omg. miss that moment. injuries were haunting both of you in epl. thanks to bayern for saving arjen's "life". but bad for joe.
Because Jose tormented we United fans like this in the past that's why some of us hated him so much even when he became United manager. Jose Mourinho forever special one!
What a great generation of players we had at Chelsea. Look what we have now ffs. Even from a English football fan point of view, we had so many great English players and leaders but too bad the rivalries got better of them. I think it was Lampard who wrote in his biography that whenever they went for England duty, players used to be groups like a United group (Rooney/Scholes/Giggs/Rio), the Chelsea group (Lampard/Joe/Ash/JT) and the Liverpool group. Too bad country never benefitted from the great generation. May be we never had the right man incharge to handle all the differences and personalities.
really miss this Chelsea team, Cech; Ferreira Carvalho Terry Gallas; Makelele Essien Lampard ; Robben JoeCole Drogba, with great subtitutes: Cudicini, Bridge, Duff, Crespo. Actually the current team is similar, with Azpi and Gallas (the right-footed left back), Hazard looks like Joe Cole, Matic is the big Makelele, the differents are Fabregas is not as powerful as Lampard and Costa is not a great killer and a wallpass like Drogba, plus Courtois' injury. For Man Utd, of course I prefer this team than current team. also the battle of 2 great managers: Jose Mourinho vs Sir Alex Ferguson
That was fergie's army, made of warriors and they would fight. And Chelsea were in their prime, the best team in the EPL. These were the golden era of the EPL. Great teams and great football
Rooney was always something else. As a Chelsea fan, I always wanted to see him in Chelsea shirt. That guy never stopped running for the ball. If I was afraid of any United player that would be Rooney. He was something Kante is today. Every time opponent has the ball, expect Kante to be behind you.
No doubt about it. This Chelsea is probably the greatest Chelsea team of all time. Their defence was just out of this world. They set the premier league record, conceding only 15 goals in 2005 season.
Paulo Ferreira was criminally underrated. Never put a foot wrong, always played well. Consistent, reliable. Not flashy, but a great RB that went under the radar.
Back then we all thought Joe Cole was miles better than Cristiano, but then a year later Ronaldo turned himself in a Demigod and Cole pretty much went downhill from here.
@@Timbone07 Lol what drinking and smoking? Cole was ruined by injuries and Rooney just didn't work hard enough to improve himself and was always in the shadow of another striker
Chelsea are a threat to what. exactly? Meanwhile Ole's Man United keep beating Fat Frankie's Chelsea with an almost tedious regularity. While Mourinho is running out of clubs with players he can "lead" down the garden path...
@@athirilyas169 I will be able to tell you that _exactly_ when the season has completed. Then let's see if you're still carrying on like Billy Big-Bollox ;)
Yeah but he wasn’t protected enough, i mean look in this game, Ronaldo was subbed of cause the game was done anyway yet rooney who was even younger was left on and got injured by ferreira which fucke* he’s world cup up in process
It's not how you start it is how you improve. Rooney grew up playing the burly burly of english football CR7 left his country and had to settle down before we saw his quality
The Invader rooney had just as much talent as ronaldo then but rooney was a bulldog he was already mature for he’s age and that’s why he wasn’t protected enough and got that awful injury
Chelsea were never quite the same after this season. Had they remained this strong would United have still been able to reclaim the league the next three seasons? Even with Ronaldo’s epic rise (which was the main factor overall in the power shift) I think Chelsea would still have shaded it- looking at how narrow the points gap still was and how evenly matched the head to heads were. Chelsea still one the FA Cup final in 07 and only missed out on the Champions League in 08 after THAT slip in the penalty shootout. Weaker in the League in 09 (Liverpool threw that one away drawing too many they should’ve won) but they had Barca dead to rights in the Champions league semi until the dying moments and big decisions screwed them big time- costing them a rematch from a year earlier- and Barca ended up schooling United in that final.
Is this the same match Rooney admitted he tried to injure terry before England went to the World Cup, and ironically went and got his metertasel broken. This is raw justice.
Craig Dicker Pause at 5:28 It was Ferreira who was lucky to not be sent off for an attempted last man hack from behind on Rooney. He could've never got the ball from there, so lucky he missed him but later his dirty tackle on Rooney made him half injured at the WorldCup. Chelsea get a lot of luck with tackles from behind. The following year in the FAcup final Essien did make contact with Giggs from behind in the box and the ball crossed the line should've been a goal or a penalty to ManUtd at 0-0 before Drogba's late winner. In the September that followed JoeCole managed to escape with just a yellow with a really dirty hack from behind on Ronaldo, then exactly a year later JoeCole again fouls Ronaldo from behind and doesn't get booked RONALDO gets booked for telling the ref it was dangerous (the same game Mike Riley booked 7 ManUtd players to Chelsea's ONE when Chelsea were by far the dirtier team). That same season Boswinga stamped on a Liverpool player's back and again it went completely unnoticed etc...
@@cddb5408 The ball did cross the line but that was because of the momentum from the oncoming players. Cech was already in possession of the ball. He was pushed and thats why the ball went over the line. Wouldnt have been awarded a goal even with VAR
@@flamesparkx Essien was the first player making a foul in that incident on Giggs. If you punish Giggs's momentum you automatically have to punish Essien's foul on Giggs. The fact you didn't even bring Essien up is really eerie. His slide at Giggs despite no chance of him reaching the ball from there is obviously worth a mention as it looked like he made contact with Giggs which means penalty even before the GOAL. ManUtd got neither a penalty nor a goal. Essien had already got away with a stone wall pen for ManUtd not given in the previous meeting at Stamford Bridge PL game that finished 0-0 when he fouled ChrisEagles but luckily ManUtd had already won the title at that point and those points weren't crucial. Nor were the points dropped earlier in the season because of HowardWebb's leniency towards Drogba in the 1-1 at OldTrafford Nov2006 when ManUtd were already 1-0 up and should've been allowed to kill the game and make the title race a lot easier, but for Rooney's honesty being punished. They made a massive fuck up anyway you look at it. The very fact Cech THROWS the ball to a teammate immediately after it crossed the line shows it wasn't even given as a foul on Cech and Cech wasn't even appealing against being fouled by Giggs. He was purely and simply just claiming that the ball had not crossed the line. When does a Chelsea player not claim they've been fouled if they have the slightest of claims?? Especially that Chelsea team.
@@cddb5408 What?? That makes no sense. If you watch it properly you'll see that Giggs was already sliding towards the ball and it was his OWN momentum that took him towards Cech and pushed him over the line. And the foul you mention is absolutely no foul because yes Essien did make contact with Giggs but that was hardly a touch and it in no way warrants a foul in any circumstance. Being in the penalty box especially there's no way it would have been awarded. You're clutching at straws here. I unfortunately don't know about the other instances you mentioned though. If you watch the video clearly you would surely understand that Essien's touch was hardly a foul and there was no way that goal would be given. The referee did the right thing by letting the play go on.
These were the days when Football was Football. All European clubs have 11 football stars on their team. Today you just can't watch football properly as every 5 minutes you see players falling easily, on the pitch and disturbing the flow of the game.
Clueless fucks. Chelsea let him go because he was injured most of the times. He always had injury problems. He had like 60 odd appearances in 3 seasons at Chelsea. Chelsea were miles better than Real Madrid in 2007, Real could never make past quarters of UCL lmao.
Because he was use as substitute to Joe Cole and he wanted a first team regular.. little did we know that injury is going to ruin Joe Cole.. what a pity!
So? Name me one player that plays well every game. I think CR7 has proved his quality over the years to forget a game like that where he was still finding his way in United team that was not really gelling yet
just look at the contact game they had if it was now it would have been plenty of reds. I fell that the passion for the game has reduced and players play for money now just imagine the players with attitude would achieve so much now.
Chelsea spent so much to build that team. The title in 04-05 should have gone to Arsenal and the following year to Manchester but instead went to the financially doped club.
I am so addicted Fantasy Premier League...every game I watched I start counting FPL points Gallas: Goal and cleansheet-12pts J.Cole : Goal, Assist and cleansheet (1pt for a midfielder)- 11pts Carvalho: Goal and cleansheet -12pts BONUS AS IT STAND 3- Gallas 2- Carvalho 1- Cole 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Fake injury bullshit! That's the only reason the sporting world considers soccer/football players to be weak feeble pansies. Stop flopping around when a blade of grass rubs you the wrong way and play the game like an athlete! Stop the humiliating fake garbage and the sport will actually be pretty entertaining. Millionaire NHL players will regularly get truly hurt in a game, and they go get stitched and fixed up and finish the game. Soccer/football players take a graze of a shoe to the shin guard and need an actual stretcher to help them off the field! It's so pathetic!! and it ruins the sport completely.
