This was my submission! Really happy you decided to show him off, even if he's not the most powerful doomstack it's possible to build. Technically this is only the second highest possible health on a character - Wulfrik on a Mammoth after getting Burplesmirk Spewpit and with all other bonuses has slightly more health, but he doesn't have as easy access to healing. I tested this battle three times in all and was able to finish it without hitting the regen cap two out of three of them. The AI either throws all of their single entities at you, in which case they're blocked from being able to shoot you much, or they hold the single entities back and you can pretty quickly wipe out the the missile units with magic and melee - the AI doesn't dodge blight boil so one overcast boil and one stream of corruption mostly wipes out any missile infantry. Should have mentioned in the email that since he has 130 WoM reserves and the Chromatic Tome you can safely just spam overcast Rancid Visitations to clear out the single entities much faster and stop characters like Morathi from doing so much damage.

The real 30 years war experience. You show up to the battlefield and take 95% casualties before the battle starts because your army got camp fever

Love seeing Ku'Gath in action! And finishing the battle with over 100 winds despite him being a spellcaster? Couple blight boils here and rancid visitations there would have mopped this up easy.

Battle healing cap being 100%, he soaked up 30k damage, while having about the same at the end of the battle. That' was quite a lot of big monsters though.

In regards to the A.I. derping when fighting against one man doomstack, I am wondering if, in that particular case, it's because they're looking for hidden units. As in, they assume there is something else than just Kurgath. Or maybe they just wanted to cross that river badly.

Despite all that melee attack and weapon strength boost his single target damage was woeful, either his attack animations are funky or he is meant to hit like a wet noodle due to him being effectively an artillery piece. Even Aranessa hits harder than that and I'd argue she is the weakest LL in the game (albeit a melee lord unlike Ku'Gath).

I feel like an important detail that makes large single entities much less effective single man doomstacks compared to smaller ones is that they're much much worse at exploiting the damage immunity that being knocked down gives in this game (seeing as they don't really get knocked down)

Kind of saved by the AI weirdness. As a single entity doomstack, I think he's kind of borked against, say, 10-12 giants. He can't disengage, he can't really do anything other than accept whatever comes his way. Also, magic fire would actually be a fairly significant problem. A handful of Sisters of Avelorn would be potentially problematic. Really cool concept, though.

From the last videos I've watched it really seems that the AI made a significant step forward in the latest patch. So much so that now it might be worth buying game since it's 53% discount. Is it just an impression?

2 things are so wrong in this game that I have no clue why they are in this state? 1 . First thing is about the weapon strength for different types of units in the game 2 . The second is about pure melee heroes and lords in the game For first I think small entities shouldn't have as much weapon strength as big or monstrous entities The fact that we see characters like Sigvald or Ungrim has the same amount of weapon strength as some characters like Nakai or Thorax or even Skarbrand or Kholeck is pissing me off, seriously!? Why? Why some small characters should be able to reach the strength level of a monster like a Dread Saurian? I think the small entities should definitely have more attack and defense ratings than bigger entities but the same strength? Come on man! And for the second thing, I think pure melee characters are tremendously underpowered compared to those with range attacks or spell casters and this shouldn't be the case in an actual strategy game Why characters like Grimgor don't have access to none magical abilities to deal with AOE attacks? Just look at all ARPGs and you'll see plenty of abilities that melee characters can execute that can be so fun to have on some pure melee characters in the game

I really appreciate all the work that goes into making these characters but with nemesis crown's passive effect doing so much of the damage the doomstacked characters start to feel the same imo

The Nemesis Crown trivialises the game. There is no strategy or challenge required to winning when using it and you cannot lose. You just AFK and win. It's the Changeling as an item. In a strategy game, an absence of strategy is a fundamental design problem. It causes boredom and disengagement. The novelty is nice for a short time but wears off soon. I play on Legendary and even without the Crown losing campaigns is almost impossible. The game is too easy. Sorry to post a negative comment and it is not directed at LegendofTotalWar/his content, he's great, but these feelings have grown in me in the past few months and peaked since 5.0's release, mainly due to Thunderbarges and the Crown. The game is easier than ever. This isn't a strategy game anymore. It's a meme. A joke.

If the AI wasn't so stupid when dealing with single targets it would have just stayed back shooting him and used his speed against Kugath and only engaging in melee as a last resort.

I personally think mortis engine effects are boring. It was cool when only mortis engine had it and a few other lords but now everyone has access to it, removing the unique effect and making it a must for new lords to have because they mustn't be outscaled. Why not increase the amount of entities hits on lords instead? Passively killing entiteis are stronger than actively killing them.
