Great review as always, just wish you would use a tape measure and show length and widths for say larger mats like 197x600 for tall people, very nice tent and would be up for the wind with the extra pole, Keep em coming Cheers

Very nice 4 season tent! I have a tarptent moment with a solid inner, but I quite like the features on this one, especially the additional ventilation options and large vestibules. I look forward to seeing how it performs in adverse conditions. Thank you for this "first impressions" review!

Thanks Andrew...answered all my questions after gazing at this tent for over a year!!. Just held back pressing the button cos of the lower doorway height. At least 100 usually preferred......Fabulous features especially 2 door directions and double solid/mesh doors. I reckon it will defo' need the crossing pole if pitched up on the tops....Venting options great too....just need to see it action now LOL😄🥳..am watching this space...😉

I like that a lot. Certainly a lot going on there, but it gives you options which is great and a huge amount of ventilation. I was thinking that 1.8Kg was quite a lot initially, but I realised that 1.8kg is pretty damn good for what you get and the protection it offers in wind and Winter. That is certainly going on my Winter Tent Wishlist.

Oh no....I think I like the look of this more than my Abisko Lite 1...The extra length, head height, massive vestibule and option to roll back either or both doors and the optional crossing pole all seem like winners that put it above my current Fjallraven for a one man four season shelter for long wilderness treks. Great review as always!

I love to see variations of tent design, very similar to the Enan and the moment, love my Moment and the crossing pole does make a difference in high wind/stability and pulls the fly right off the inner. That vestibule is huge 👌loads of space inside and overall not a bad weight for a tent that size. Personally I think I'd prefer the moment setup for not worrying where the door side is but I do look forward to see it being used in anger. Nice blag 😅😊

@@lexinad unlikely that it needs sealing. Manufacturers of tents in sil-sil fabrics use special thread that when moist expands and fills any holes. I have sprayed mine with the hose on full blast and not a single drop. Also spent a night in torrential rain for 9 hours straight and again,.not a drop inside.

Really great review from my favourite RU-vidr. I was concerned that they would be too dark inside because of the dark grey material but it seems not. Why decathlon call dark inners fresh n black I do not know! Some fabulous features but on first impressions I am still liking my scarp 1, though looks like better features and build quality. Really whet my appetite to see the vern 2 get the Park dissection. Happy camping A.
@AndrewParkOutdoors
@AndrewParkOutdoors Год назад
haha maybe they'll send me one of those too. The fabric is so lightweight it doesn't actually feel dark inside at all which I thought it might. Someone raised a point that it will be roasting in the sun being balck but I live in Scotland, that might take a while to test :-)

Hi Chris, they're just like Hillebergs, similar fabric and stitching. You shouldn't need to seam seal it I reckon, just like a Hilly unless there's a specific leak point which you might want to add a dab of Silnet to. So far no probs with mine in some shocking weather.

That's a pretty impressive iteration of this type of tent. The attached 4-season straps annoy me, but I really like the space and design on all three doors. I'm curious to learn how this tent will fare fighting off condensation, which is often an issue in this design. Maybe the dense mesh will prove to be downside. As a current Abisko Lite 1 owner (and someone who loves mine and has had it in absolutely horrendous weather), I'd say this Nortent seems to improve on all of the shortcomings of the Abisko Lite 1 - of which there weren't many. If I had to re-buy another four season one man tent though, I reckon I'd take a chance on this Nortent. I doubt you can go wrong with either really though. Good luck and may I wish you empty pockets and a happy heart 😄

Nice one Andrew, good to have an in-depth look at it. It's certainly not a tent for the casual camper. Venting looks very well thought out & it's a thing of absolute beauty to look at, I love the colour & the double door is a great feature, but the head height makes it a no-no for me. 95cm would be the limit of what'd I'd want in a tent, but the fly door height looks a lot lower than the 95cm of the inner, any chance you would measure that for me? Thank you. Also as you said, the ability to run a line in the inner would have came in handy. A couple of tweaks & I'd have one of them in a flash lol. The Vern 2 looks quite canny as well. Looking forward to seeing you use it ⛺😁
@AndrewParkOutdoors

Fair point but most tents are boiling when the sun is on them for a bit and usually you’re up and out before this becomes an issue anyway. I’ve considered a black tent for stealth but haven’t pulled the trigger due to the heat possibility. Not sure it would really be a problem in real world use though. We’ll wait for Andrew to be a human Guinea pig in high summer to find out! 😛
