I delivered furniture a few years back to the same place and had the same trouble with the postcodes we went on the ship HMS Ocean and had a bit of a tour of the ship off the Royal Marine officer also got to deliver onto HMS Westminster at Portsmouth docks as well as many many military bases all over the UK got well looked after when delivering to all of them

Great vlog as always,you was very close to where they found the recent bomb and a bit of the route you drove down was the route it came out on the back if the truck,hope the driver of the truck you was talking about at the beginning was ok in the end,cherrs john o👍

Made me chuckle you calling Devonport Dockyard (Biggest dockyard in Europe) a marina, the route you were taking I thought you was going to Princess Yachts.

Love your videos John-o. I had to laugh when you was on about the car doing 48 mph. When I was trucking it was 40 mph. Really annoying when you were on a dual carriageway and had to plod on at 40. One of my colleagues got done for doing 47 on the A38 dual carriageway towards Derby, he said to the bobbies its stupid and about time it got changed. They agreed but he still got his fine. You get far more done today than when I was driving. Mind you the M5 only went part way towards Devon, and we had to come off and go through Bristol. Lovely memories but boy how it has changed. Look forward to the next one

Thank you very much it would have been good to experience what the older days as a truck driver was like but as everything time moves on it's definitely a more comfortable job these days

Yes we had to sleep on the cab seats, but as I delivered beds I was lucky, just slept in the back, and we could only deliver up to 5pm so use to park up early,not like you today, all the hours you put in, we were on log books, and we filled them in as we really wanted to. One of my favourite parking places was Southampton where the Swimming baths were. & Bristol where the Tobacco buildings were. I could go on for ever LOL.@@TruckerJohno

Got given a EV car when my petrol car went into service. I was doing local work. Got the car back to the garage with 10% left. No good for me.

electric cars are a no no for me apart from the fact that everyone forgets about all the mining to get the lead for the batteries and the electricity comes from coal and nuclear power plants and yes i know there's some hydro and wind plants

Hi John-o Use to go on the Torpoint Ferry to get to Whitsand Bay for holidays. The kids called it the chunka chunka ferry because of the noise it made . I did a delivery on multi drop to an Army site in St Albans , just a shed in the middle of a field with a high double fence round it with dogs and guards in between the fence . Was not allowed in ,had to unload outside . God knows what was in there. Totally agree with you on EV's . 👍

That was quite a rant about EV’s. Obviously EV trucks are a lot further down the road than cars and may or may not become a reality. I believe EV cars are here to stay and both battery ranges and charge facilities are improving at pace. Go back 100 years and imagine the number of filling stations for cars in those days. Go back even 30 years and many cars only had a range of little more than 200 miles.

great video as always and think if we went all electric driving time would be a thing of the past, more stress on the working time. I give extra room behind electric cars stopped in traffic, incase they decide not to move as you can't push them out the way like any other car.

Your drive through Devonport bought back so many memories,i left there in 1967,heck its changed,some of it i recognised.The area where you mentioned the razor wire was very close to where they found that 500lb UXB the other day.Safe driving,from a long retired ex driver.

Hi John-o, I went into Devonport docks when I was driving for Bloknmesh, first job after passing class 2, I was following you along through Plymouth to see if you did have to go in Camelshead gate😂 and yes it took ages for me to get my pass and the escort vehicle to show up😳 what a maze!! I asked if he could escort me back out just so I didn't get lost😂😂 we have a fair few narrow lanes in Somerset too, I think you get used to them after a while
