299: D&D Icons of the Realms Adult White Dragon (Wizkids) Review 

Thank you! It really is too bad that for such an iconic dragon, the Red dragon seems to have been rendered rather lackadaisically. You can also see that there are many areas of just plain flat red in that dragon. I would say it would be worth USD30-45 maybe, certainly no more. _This_ white dragon I would pay more for!

This year I will neglect them a lot less than I have been, rest assured! 😁

Thank you very very much! I actually really love dragons, but have neglected them because PNSO and HLG give us so much good stuff! This year I promised my dragon viewers that I would neglect them less. Which reminds me... I have to work on one soon!

I'm absolutely delighted to see one of my earliest viewers back here again! Yes indeed, I am still kicking, but sadly dragons after McFarlane have been few and far between. A viewer clued me in to the Monster Hunter universe, and also the Icons of the Realms line. Unfortunately, the D&D painted dragons are way too expensive, and some of the paint applications just pale in comparison to the dinosaurs and Monster Hunter figures, even the small Figure Builder gashapon ones are so well painted and sculpted that it's even less excusable for such inferior models to be selling for such high prices. The Time Dragon that you suggested, for example, is almost the same price as some of the Creators Models. I _did_ in fact acquire some unpainted miniatures that I was going to commission someone to paint. Unfortunately, that was right before Covid hit, and since then I have lost touch with that artist, so they remain forever unpainted and unsung. You ask an interesting question regarding differentiating real vs fake Monster Hunter Figure Builder gashapons. I'm afraid the answer is a rather nuanced on. Many of the 'fakes' that you see sold for cheap on Aliexpress, Taobao and other such sites are actually not so much 'fakes'. Considering that many of today's models are actually made in _China_ itself, some of these are illegally printed models using some original moulds. The paint application used to tell the story, but sometimes some of these Chinese painters are so good that I've seen many a bootleg Creators Model sell for a quarter the price, but looking just as good as the original. One way could be to buy direct from some Japanese online stores. The other would be to demand to buy only boxed/ sealed sets of Figure Builders. The challenge with the latter is that the originals are often blind boxes, so you don't really know what is in there. Some sellers will offer to open and check for you, but then once opened, you don't know if it's original. And yet some more sophisticated counterfeiters can even get their hands on the original packaging. So you never know. I would say that the best bet would still be to get from a Japanese online store. Another, if you don't mind the figure not bearing the original label, is to try making one or two small orders and seeing you like the product. I've actually gotten a hold of some of these 'fake' Figure Builders, and they look damn good.

Thank you for looking at a dragon review! 😁 I would say that this one, _if_ you can get it at a decent price, is a nice one to start with. Otherwise, there are nicer dragons for around the same price you might be able to get, from the Monster Hunter series, for example!

I'm not intending to get it. I'm not really interested in theropods, and for that money I would rather buy some dragons, or some other dinosaurs that I expect some of the Chinese studios to offer this year.

I'm pretty angry that my supplier let me down. Paid my deposit and when it arrived it sat in his shop for two months. If I hadn't started wondering and enquired about it, I would never have known it was in!
