Yea when you said that you put the video out to force their hand in a way, I was not overly optimistic that it would happen. I am very glad it did, though.
Phillip, how would you compare the TBP 29mm to the Rep Deep Knurl EX? Is it worth the swap other than for nostalgic/historic reason? Also, it's good to see a fellow Rhodes alumnus (class of '95). Much appreciated!
Go Lynx! Honestly I would say no in that scenario. I have had both the Rep Deep Knurl and the 29mm TPB for a while now, and I could not justify switching them out due to the TPB offering a substantially different experience. Both are stiff power bars with similarly sharp, aggressive knurling. The TPB is just such a cool bar to own though, and it performs well also. Thanks for checking in!
Ok so I would say it depends on what you are used to using. If you are used to very passive knurling up to relatively passive knurling and are deadlifting less than 600lb or so, I would lean towards OPB. It is more grippy than sharp, and it is going to have a more aggressive feel than a random gym bar. If you are used to a substantial knurling and are looking for something that you will be able to hold onto the best, I would lean TPB. It is sharper while the OPB is grippy. I still do not find my cerakote TPB to be painfully sharp when doing anything besides heavy deads with hook grip. I hope that helps with perspective.
@@doctabustacruz I would personally, but I have no experience with the Rep bar. So take that with a grain of salt. I have a Rep Deep Knurl EX from their earlier power bar line and like it a lot though, so I am definitely a friend of Rep.
