Another great video. Thank you. Y the way, is that a mistake on 18:35? Shouldn't that metal plate go under the camshaft (VVTI side of course), rather than on the top bearing cover?

You remove the VVT completely from the inlet camshaft and you didn't adjusted before you fix it again to the camshaft need to put it backwards 45 degree then you can tight to camshaft to adjust the timing..like that the VVT will not be accurate in function.

Great video. I have a 2012 with the 1.8 engine that rattles on cold starts. The rattle lasts about 10 seconds. Could the tensioner be the problem? It’s worse if the car hasn’t been started in a few days.

Always do the simple things first if you take off valve cover and can wiggle the timing chain on top then it needs to be replaced look at other videos how to do it but after you install it remember to put a socket on grank shaft and turn it one full turn until you hear it engage if you have the valve cover off you can see it engage and hear it but study videos all of them and take notes on paper tensioner is on the passenger side way down two 10 mil bolts easily comes off and on

@@MayoCarsDR aveces cuando dura muchas horas parado la válvula pcv la cambie hace medio año le cambien el aceite de mineral ha sintético muy delgado. Pero el carro si anda muy bien corre perfecto solo ese problema que comenzó hace muy poco como 3 semanas y da un olor fuerte cuando sale humo azul o parecido a gris Gracias Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu familia saludos

If your gonna go that far with it also do the timing chain tensioner you also haft to aling the timing chain to top dead center there about 30 $ and last up to 100.000 miles

the vvt-i camgear has to be unlocked before installing it and then locked, I work on toyota vehicles most of the time.

Nice cleaning job. That brake in the cam is often due to choked filter in the block hidden behind the power steering pump, which didn't seem to look at.

The code P0016 can be due to the camshaft sensor for bank 1 having an internal intermittent problem due to vibration or heat. These problems may or may not be able to be verified. If repeated attempts to find the failure end up in not verifying the code, then suspect a failing camshaft sensor.

Well that’s not very smart to file metal over top off a motor with the valves and inside of mortar exposed let me ad some more shavings on in there 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
