This game is a great example of what to do when your opponent keeps making weak groups. Just separate the groups, make good shape, and wait for a chance. You don't need to worry about points because when your opponent is just living everywhere, they are also not making points. Just take territory while you defend yourself and let your opponent do all the work!

This was the first video of yours I've seen and I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Thank you for not cutting the endgame, too. Your narrative as your played was clear and concise. I feel like I've attended a wonderful lecture. Subscribed!

@@TritonBaduk for the record I'm 6kyu. This video had moves I'd never see clearly explained as well as moves I'd intuitively play but be unable to justify, so it was a very rewarding watch.

I liked when you stopped to point out that you basically have no points on the board. This type of player is really frustrating to play against, but that also makes it more satisfying to defeat them!

Yeah, that’s why I wanted to point it out. It can be annoying and hard to deal with. It’s understandable why they do it.

I am a big chess fan I don't know the rules of this game but I really enjoy how you describe what you're doing, just wish I had a little more of an idea of what was going on.

Go is so fun! I’ve played chess for 8 years or so, but in the last couple years I’ve taken more of a liking to go. Try making an account on OGS, you’ll be able to play against a wide range of players and many people enjoy playing teaching games too

I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s nice to know that even people that don’t know the game can still enjoy the commentary. It is hard to communicate over comments, but if you want to try and learn about this game you should head over to Online-Go.com and check out what you can. I believe they have beginner lessons and rules there.

Very interesting game. Exactly in the style & flow that I want to play. Playing solid, splitting, surrounding... Simple ideas yet showcases a lot of nuances that I still seem to lack. Might come back to this one to study more deeply, thanks

Really liked your explanations on this one. The way you described how you were playing and thinking about your shape points made more sense to me than it usually does. Very helpful

I did a double take when your opponent made their EIGHTH group

Indeed. This person had it coming and it was fun to see it unfold. Players like this all too often get away with it. Enough to be dan level, even!

Really loved your discussion of the moves during; I often struggle when there's a lot going on, and seeing you handle the many different threats calmly was inspiring. :)

It can be hard to stay calm/focus with so much going on, I just hope I was able to show that you don’t have to worry as much as you might think.
