At 3:44 when you (if you're following along) subtract the rectangle from the potion-liquid-circle, you have to press and HOLD subtract for it to subtract non-destructively. If you just press it normally, the rectangle will be gone and you won't be able to adjust later.
Hi, thanks a lot! I was able to follow and created this amazing art (took me some hours though), but how do I change liquid color as you did in the end of the video?
hello! thanks!, just change the red shape Color :), you also can apply a color overlay fx at the layers panel, and change the color at the panel below as well!
This was a very good vid! I’m stuck, though, at the 3:50ish mark, using the subtract mode to create the liquid level. How is the rectangle still there to manipulate the level with? Mine disappeared during the operation.
Hi David, did you hold the Subtract option? doing this way you'll create a kind of Compound path with selected shapes, because if you click without holding this option, will subtract it and left just a path. hope this will solve your issue, thanks for watching mate!
Well it's 2020 and on windows desktop 18.4 subtracting two shapes leaves only one new shape in the layers menu, not two distinct shapes. Why would this functionality be taken away?
Subtracting only leaves 1 shape, which is correct, since the shape above remove the part of the bottom shape. if you want to have distinct shapes separately it's the divide option
