So i am currently in the process of trying to do the same thing with putting gte internals into a ge what all do i have to do to put gte piston and rods into a ge any resizing of the bore or anything like that use gte bearings or anything with the crank?

Going to be doin this swap on my '05 but SUPERCHARGING IT (LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, TURBO'S aren't legal for it "good old EPA RULES). Though glad to hear I can reuse my "GE" pistons too, major money saver.

Know this is a old vid, how is your car holding up? I am running gte rods with ge pistons with 1bar around 14/15ish psi boost on 95 ron and this thing is wild. Been running it like this for a long time and have not had any detonation etc making 550hp. Won't boost it any higher though.

@@MaxFuller good to hear, been a bit scared to up the boost on this 95 we have here. Would help a ton if e85 was readily available here for a decent price. You still running the gte pistons? Also what did you do on the cylinder head? Had mine ported and polished to the max with 272 BC cams, ss valves and springs. Left the limiter at 7000 though, thinking of taking it up to 8000 and see if I can get it to 600 with this fuel.

Just for informations sake. Only the GE VVTI came with weak skinny rods and weaker pistons. GE NON VVTI had the same thick rods as GTE and same strength pistons as GTE just 10:1 CR. This is why many NON VVTI NA-T builds just use a GTE headgasket to drop compression ratio but keep the stock bottom end. These tend to be even better than GTE since they will make more power off boost.

Bro.... like ur 2jzge na-t vids... if you were asked to duplicate that build how much would you charge for the labor? Plus for sourcing the parts. Because I want a 2jzgte for my xrunner but as you know they are way too expensive now

It was a vvti 2jz ge short block, just replaced the rods and pistons for 2jz gte

Thanks ! 🙏 it’s the same thing really, just in non vvti you don’t have to change the pistons and rods as they are the same as the gte ones

Yes this is a ge vvti, the GTE vvti has the good thick rods
