No narration or music because I also wanted to capture the sounds of Daley Barracks. The spy comment was Johnson of G Trp. Morello is the trooper asking where I got the camera.
Bklaw was here. Retired & left BK end of August 1991. Thanks for filming and posting these memories. I will cherish this film. Thanks for posting Doug!
What a walk down memory lane I was stationed in BK twice 1981 to 1985 1989 through 1991. E-troop, HHT, and Hco. Served as troop and squadron MG. Lived in Hausen . What great times and great friends from my time there. Sgt. Ike
Howitzer Battery 2/11th ACR 1976-1978, SGT Jessee "Track Machanic" I must have ran a thousand miles around the Barracks for PT. Thanks for posting the video, brought back some great memories.
Thanks. I'm a Army Vet - I lived in the Headquarters 2/11 ACR barracks in the mid 80's, and was also permanently assigned to Camp Lee. Amazingly, my first year in Germany, I calculated that I spent at least 260 odd days in the field...Reforger and all the rest. When I was there, homesick, I was having USA dreams. But now that I see both places are merely ancient Army relics, I must say that I am quite sad. I have few pictures of my duty there, so this video is a great treat. Great Memories! Tx
Thanks so much for posting this! 1990 was the year I got there and became part of the 2nd plt. H Co, 2/11. I was still only 17 and turned 18 in the field. What a wave of emotion and memory this brings!
I was stationed here from 1991-1992. Deployed to KKMC Saudi Arabia,and Doha, KUWAIT,from here,in May 1991. (Doha Dash)-(July 11,1991)-North Compound. I was 13B10,working in 88M slot in Ammo Section,HQ Platoon,(How Battery). PV2 Scott,R.
I am a native of BK. Last Visit in 2014 was looking for the Chapel sad its gone.My Husband and l married there 38years ago, good times lasting memories.
ah yes it was called Grenroes pizza (not sure on the spelling ). he had pretty teenage daughter who used to delivery for them, it was family shop. large pepperoni $5 circa 1985-1987 HHT 2/11 ACR. awesome time
Thanks for posting this. I lived here in the 1970s as an army brat, my father was a Sgt. with HHT, 2nd/11th ACR. It was great to see the buildings that made up our daily backdrop during our time there. Brought back some great memories seeing the old PX, frontier theater, gym, motorpool area, etc. We had our BSA meetings on the top floor of the Messhall. Used to hang out by the Sherman tank, etc, etc.
Wow, really enjoyed the video! I was at Daley Barracks August 63 to August 66, I was Artillery Forward Observer. The Cav Unit was across the Parade field from us. Loved Germany, my best friends in life I made at Daley Barracks. Cannot help but cry when I see the video because I whole heartedly miss that time in my life. God Bless all you folks!!
Thanks for your service! I know when I was at Daley, our FOs were most likely to hit the blotter. A crazy bunch, but I loved them all, (well, maybe one guy not so much} Blackhorse,89-91!
Was only there short time in '77 as aero scout and was guided to a brotherhood of courtesy and team spirit..." welcome to unit police duty as main gate guard, meet everyone, tomorrow we deploy to the grenze." EXCELLENT!
E troop, 83- 85 I remember once we road marched back from the Chicken.. every 10th center guide on the M-1s were flipped over to provide better traction when we trying to crawl up and done the hills there. But when we made that left turn off of Ostring back into Daley (the wash rack just outside town wasn't done yet) we were sending the wooden cobblestones from that intersection all over the place. And of course, the "maneuver damage" guy was right there with his note book and calculator!!!
I worked in the PX selling bespoke clothing in 1972/ 74 Alexandre was the company name from London, I had a great time with the army guys. Really enjoyed working there.
I was at Bad Kissingen 65-66 and enjoyed it very much. Unit was A company 82nd ENGR. We were reassigned back too our Battalion headquarters in Bamberg in late 1966. It was a sad time as we all made friends there in B.K. SGT. Murphy
When did Daley actually close down? I was in the temp housing in BK in July 1998. Everything was gone by then. Not even a commissary that I recall. We were waiting on housing in Schweinfurt.
G Troop 1982-1987 - Miss this place and the friends I made. Sad they tore down the Chapel where my wife and I got married 29 years ago. The one of OP Tennessee really is a flash back, as one of the former Logistic managers for Camp Lee, brings back memories of the former wooden trailer that was in the field in front and below the new harden OP. SSG/SFC Sherman now 1SGT Ret. Eaglehorse! - Allons!
I was there at the same time and I remember you. I really wanted your job! LOL! I really liked SGT Brewer, I understood his assholery! LOL! Hope you are well.
Gulf Troop 2nd. platoon commanding officer cpt. McQuire, platoon sgt. Bailey, plt. leader Somar. 1977-1979. If you want to bring back memories, should have gotten some shots of the white horse tavern. this was some hard duty you spent a six week tour up at the border which was work twenty four seven. when you got back to post you had an alert at least once or twice a month, in the middle of the night. you flanked guard two or three nights a week. you worked on tanks and weapons. then you were sent to grafenver or wildflicken to shot some thing that would take days to put back in order. then you were sent to the field on reforger or some other alert. and before you knew it you were sent back to badnoustead for another six weeks. I was proud to serve.
Randy Rhodes HQ ptl. G Troop. 82 to 85. With wife Nancy and daughter Lauren. Great memories great friends miss it all except duty driver and guard duty. I don't know kind of miss that also. Friend of mine told me if we knew how much fun we were having then we would have had a lot better time. Anybody still out there leave a comment. Allons Gators
Cool Video! I lived there until 2003 when the closed it. I left Germany in 2007 and took one last look at it. It looked sad. All closed up and scary trashed looking...

G-Trp, 87 to 89. Allons! Sgt. McIntosh, you were always one choke away from being found out to be the incompetent ass you always were. Sgt Bill Taylor, you and Sgt David Pape were the real shit. Right on brothers, right on.
Does anybody remember the old black man that would fry chicken at the EM club. you could get a thigh and a wing for like two bucks, he would serve it with a slice of bread and a few green beans, not really a big deal. but if you ever ate any of his chicken you would say it was the best ever. LOL
I was stationed at Daley Barracks from 79 -83 with Bravo Battery 2nd Bn / 41st Field Artillery....Remember the fried chicken at the EM Club very much....wow
Daley Barracks/ Camp Lee 85-88, I remember. Some others from the mess section were: Lurch (can't remember real name), Black Mo, Little Mo, Spec-5 Newman, Northrup, Murray, Sgt. Guillen, Sgt. Brown, Sgt, Tuley. All were 94B as was I.
Yea I was there 86/89 2/11th used to be the dress man as the Germans used to call me for dressing in style back then what that club tropics or something like that.
I was there in 1970-71 and there was a barber who you NEVER went to after he drank his lunch because he was a bit rough to say the least. Before lunch, he was fine, after, go at your own risk
! was there, 1989-1991 HOW Battery 2/11 ACR. SFC Ricky Brewer tried to get me to stay. Kick myself for leaving. If you know him, tell him to look me up on Face Book.
Hey Andy!! Do you your room mates still make you put your boots out the window? LOL! Hope you are doing well with life, sorry if I was an ass, I am slowly getting better with age!! ALLONS!
