It’s hard to find 2nd gen Titan videos on RU-vid. I do all my own service and most repairs on my Titan. While I don’t actually change the fluid in this video, I do walk you through the steps. Throw a comment out if you have any questions. This is for 2016-2019 Titans with the 7-speed transmission. While the adapter may not be the same for the 2020-2024 models, it should be the same process.

I'm contemplating doing this on a 2017 Titan ai just picked up. But, what a ridiculous procedure. Sounds like Nissan engineering for sure. But hey, thanks so much for the great detail you offered.

Excellent video!!!! I have a 2018 Titan SV. I'm taking mine in this time for a fluid change, After that, I will do them myself.

Great information, thanks for sharing! Given the miles you got on the vehicle, have you checked carbon build up at your intake or notice any drop in power?

What Bluetooth OBD monitor do you use? How much atf did you use in total?
@BlondeSasquatch82

Capacity for these transmissions is 10-5/8 qts. On average when I do a total drain and fill, I refill almost exactly this amount. I use the ThinkDiag OBD2 Bluetooth device.

@@BlondeSasquatch82 so when you do the flushing 4 times for say an 80k mile flush, you used close to 40 quarts?

So, there's no way to check the transmission fluid level from the engine compartment? You have to do it all from underneath?

No filter. There’s a screen you can clean off, but there are a gob of bolts to remove after you remove the gob of bolts to drop the pan.

Im not understanding completely. Drain the fluid out 3 different times, after the initial drainage of the old fluid? Am i reusing the new fluid i just put in the first time and drained for the other 2 times, or is this new fluid getting drained and put back in 3 different times?
@bigc6825

You put in new fluid each time. DO NOT REUSE FLUID

@@dennisfillion3069honestly you don’t have to do that 4 step process. It’s a complete waste of money. Just drain & fill once like the good old days . Every 30k you’ll be fine.

Welp. Finished my 3rd drain and fill. Brand new pan installed. And the difference was almost immediate. First 15 miles this truck woke up and is banging gears like never the 2 years I had it. I will be draining again in 4K miles. Thank god for RU-vid. ** if anyone has that low bog between gears like the rpm is too low *** Also take your MAF out and clean it / test it. Along with the throttle body ( mine had some gunk ) these engines are better off with oil catch cans. 🫡🇺🇸🫡

Is that 1 gal jug of ATF good for three drain and fills?

You’ll need just under 5 quarts for a drain and fill.
