Love your picks for your daughter! Thanks for sharing your plans. Have you heard of the book Wonders of Nature by DK? It would work pair really well with nature study. The photos are amazing . Also there is a podcast created by a homeschooling mom named Cindy (I forget her last name) called “no sweat nature study”. I love it because she speaks directly to the kids. I tend to have them listen while we are in the car. They love it and learn a lot from it.

Try the book drawing with children by Mona Brookes. It pairs really well with artistic pursuits. Artistic pursuits doesn’t really teach how to draw, but drawing with children provides an amazing foundation to use for this with almost no work. And it’s fun for adults too!

My 4 year old will be a mixed between 2 grades as we are starting her early and earlier that expected!!! Nothing wrong with going down a grade when a curriculum is advanced!!! We don’t use a curriculum for creative writing just a notebook!!! We supplement with all about reading but we have dyslexic kids who struggle with reading and my older kids language arts curriculum don’t have phonics anymore but they still need some phonics teaching but we don’t do it often!!! We copy bible verses!!! We don’t do it very often but found it helpful!!! My older daughter did dance and loved it!!! I don’t think TGTB watercolour is for level 5 I thought younger kids could do it!!!

We love the abeka flash cards too! We don’t use abeka any more but keep the giant flashcards for review.

We are about to start kinder next week! We’re using Abeka K5 (and all about reading/maybe). Did you use the clue word flash cards much last year?? That is the only set of their flash cards that I don’t have yet and I’m just wondering if I need them with all the others.

That was actually one of the sets I liked the most - but I wouldn't say you need them!

Where did you found the D’Nealian workbooks? I have been looking for weeks and I can’t find them online.

We are in a similar situation with reading. My 7.5 year old has used a little bit of level 1 AAR, level K of the good and the beautiful and 1&1.5 of Explode the code in the past and she’s struggling with fluency and confidence. Im considering Abeka but unsure what level to start her in. She will be in 2nd grade this 2022-2023 school year. If your daughter had never used Abeka K5 would you start her there now in 2nd grade or would you start her in level 1?

Which laminate machine did you use to laminated them? I would like to do that too.

I love my laminator machine, it isn't this exact machine but it is the closest one. I love the Scotch brand: amzn.to/3Pwvw5m
