My second real test of this machine. I’m most impressed with the operation and handling. My opinion it is definitely superior to the similar sized other brands. Besides working well, It even sounds good when running. This model Honda was first released in 1984, mine isn’t much newer but was obviously cared by the previous owner(s). Additionally, this is a true Japan built Honda engine. The more recent Honda engines are built elsewhere in that continent but still good. I prefer the Japanese built engines.

I have an HS55 and HS928 both track versions. I wanted to use the HS55 today since I have not used it in 3 years. Besides the fact I always forget to turn the knob to ON every time it started on first pull. Still kicks a$$! My HS55 has all new belts and looks like new. Be cautious when messing with the rubber drive wheel if you ever need to adjust the drive. Took me days to get to where it was right.

Thank you for watching and posting a comment. My Honda snowblowers always start easily, after i remember to turn on the key switch. I firmly believe my success is running the gas out of the carb bowl when I’m finished using them. Same with all my equipment. End of season all gasoline is removed. I have ethanol gas here, can’t let that crap set too long in any small engine. Yes that drive disc adjustment is critical. As I stated in the video, I really like that HS55, perfect size and plenty of power for my requirements when a single stage isn’t enough. I have a HS724 at another property. I love the smooth hydrostatic drive, I assume your HS928 is equally as nice to use. I have videos published on several Honda powered machines I own. I am a big fan of Honda equipment and Honda small engines.

I have the track version of this model...still running strong. I upgraded mine with a paddle kit...just launches the snow 40ft.

I have seen a couple of the paddle upgrades guys have done. Originally I was planning on doing the same to this machine, but it operates so good now I have not bothered to upgrade. At my other property I have a rather beat-up track drive HS-55 too, it’s in need of internal engine repairs, but the machine does work. I saved it just in case I needed drive parts for this machine. Did you see the other video on the HS-724 I have posted? It is a slightly newer hydrostatic drive machine, I like the smooth operation a lot. Just like our HS-55’s the 724 really throws snow far. Can’t beat these Honda 2-stage snowblowers, no comparison to the junk hardware store snowblowers my neighbors have.

Absolutely love mine (crawler track), judging by the key switch I think mine is older and it's ran amazing. Starts first pull everytime. I just purchased a carb kit and new belts. Last year I purchased a rubber paddle from a miscellaneous single stage, cut it in fourths and double self-tap screwed them on the steel impeller and have never had a slush issue ever again. In fact where I live is on a curve and water tends to pool up... now I throw the water. When Davenport, michnlike Chicago gets hammered with snow... I'm usually the only one bailing people out even with their own snow blowers. They don't make them like they used to. They have a cult following for a reason. Yours looks cherry!

I’m a big fan of Honda power equipment and own several various machines. All are somewhat older and all perform well, exactly as intended. There is also a video of my HS724 I have at an out of state property. It just got new belts and tires. I hope to have that video up soon too.

BTW I have not really had a problem with this one clogging up, it did it once in very wet snow but it’s not an issue i need to address. I like this HS55 a lot.

Thanks for the video, I just bought an HS 55 and it needs new belts. I need the serial number to order parts, I see the engine number GX140-127638 and #100 2200 on the back of the machine. Please advise if you know how these numbers are applied for parts identification. Thank You

Sorry for missing your questions. Just have both numbers when you call for parts. I suggest a reputable Honda parts dealer as there are variations depending of the year. Too easy to get the wrong belts just ordering on line. In this instance, it’s better to talk with a dealer that has access to all thx data.
