2NE1 was a cultural reset. I was never interested in kpop until 2NE1 came along. They were experimenting with sounds and lyrics that were way more “violent” and “aggressive” and dynamic than what you would expect from a female group. They didn’t care much for being the pretty cute passive girl of men’s dreams but rather talked about re-affirming themselves and their own identities, often doing that by going over the top and out of standards for girl groups aesthetic. CL was a real leader and despite everything that happened they are all still important names, even BTS have shown true respect for them more than once and Blackpink took inspiration from them. They really left a legacy.

2NE1 will forever be my favorite kpop group and one of my favorite groups period :) They were unique at the time and still are today. They had the talent, the presence, the charisma without having to fake it

They toured with an all-American band called Band Six. They weren't shown on the video but they always toured with them with 2NE1 were still active. They are signed under YG and now tour with Black Pink too. In fact they are the same band that played with BP in Coachella.

Love 2ne1, I hate what yg did to them. They undoubtedly left a great legacy in kpop though 💜

This was their debut song back in 2009. It never got old, tbh. 2NE1 basically was a rookie monster back when their group first started. Every member has their own talent and beauty. Now, they aren't working as a group anymore, BUT they are still working as solo artist, as you already know CL is currently on the rise. 2NE1's fire has always been burning bright and shine. Then, BLACKPINK deputed and continue to keep that fire burning brightly. I'd tell you that YG artists never fail to amaze their fans.

The OG legendary girl group of YG. They forcefully disbanded 2nE1,so YG can debut Blackpink. Financially it was a success. BP does make great money. They were successful from their debut onwards, because they had the budget, awesome producers and the clout of 2NE1 and big bang to back them. Big 3 privilege. The BP girls are incredibly talented themselves. Now that BPs contract is ending in the next 2 yrs, there are rumours of another GG debuting....

They were my first female group I gravitated to besides Girls Generation when i started listening to kpop back in the day. They set the road for BTS and other groups that embraced about self awareness and value of one's self! I was really sad, even today when one of the members committed suicide. 😢

the girl who did the split is Minzy and she is a multi talented artist in her own right currently. She was only 15/16 when Fire was first released. Minzy has an amazing voice, can out-dance almost anyone, and is the consummate professional. Sandara Park or Dara for short is the one who sang the sitarish influenced part. She was almost a decade older than Minzy and before the formation of 2N31 she was living in the Philippines and well known in the Philippine entertainment industry. She speaks fluent Tagalog and brought a massive Filipino following to 2NE1. And she turned out to have a natural talent as an entertainer, narrator and host and has become well known all over Asia. And she still looks almost the same as she did at 25. Park Bom has one of the most unique voices in all of KPop and is an incredible singer. She had early solo success while the group was still young. CL is the leader and quite unique. I’ve personally never seen any other group leader so naturally be in charge and have the talent and the brains to do it successfully. 2NE1 did a TV show that was broadcast in S. Korea right at the time that they were about to become big. It was following their daily lives - and you can find it on YT. It’s 3 seasons. Watching CL from season 1, episode 1 through season 3 the final episode is truly remarkable. The girls became women and leaders and the queens of KPop.
