Tupacs rhyme scheme is insane! You can tell he wrote his rhymes more like poems and just caught the beat on his own instead of writing in bars. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
Always hated that jay & beyonce version , garbage, they watered it down. do not touch classics. Whoever told them to redo that song wanted to disrespect Pac.
playit at1point5speed that’s doubtful. Tupac was paranoid he attacked everyone he considered a threat. This song is his most lyrically complicated song.
Jay-Z and Kanye made that song worry Beyonce out of respect to Pac and Ms Afeni approved the Jay-Z version and spoke to him directly about it. Pac got the idea for the doing from the Nas song I GAVE YOU POWER.
No..really? You know listening to the song over a dozen times no one had a clue he was talking about a gun. Not 1 of us. You are an absolute genius to catch onto that. Is it still sarcasm if I say that's sarcasm?
I heard the Jay Z version first and thought it was the original too, but when I heard the 2 PAC version It was a wrap. It will never be another Tupac. Once in lifetime type of human being. A revolutionary.Godfather of hip hop 20 years later he is still shaking people in their boots. Still moving people with his words.
2pac put his emotion and what he felt in his songs...especially about the struggle, his music will never get old and will live forever sadly that we wont get good music like this again.
Nearly 25 years later and this mans music and legacy is still bangin! The mark of a legend. Tupac’s mom let jay-Z remix it up. It’s insane how Tupac knows no divide by race, creed, class, wealth, or borders. And his words came true. “I may not change the world myself, but I guarantee you I’ll spark the mind that will!” - Tupac A. Shakur
PAC, will always come in first as Kings do. I was in the military in 96 and we used pac music as warfare they thought he was a entity. Tupac, was evolving into a figure of peace and hope. He had that anger, but given time. I believe he was killed, because of his mastery of speech and reserve. He was beginning to show, also he could of been a legend or another Civiv leader like Martin Luther King Jr.. The man spoke of real shit, and that’s why no one can touch those flows to these day. The Passion and pure conviction of his lyrics? May have changed history given time.
Stanley Keese curious what you “hate” about it. For me, it was too commercial. Tupac’s version really made me think about how much my gun meant to me during that era. Very insightful lyrics.
sal lemus he knew he also knew what Tupac hated his guts so it's kind of like a slap in Pacs face. But that's how they got big stealing people's stuff from Big to Rakim to Snoop to Big Daddy Kane 2 Tupac he also knew the kids wasn't going to do the history and assume that Beyonce and him created this song
PAC IS THE GOAT OF HIP HOP Jay z copied from the GOAT this song is a metaphor it's about his gun he's talking about how the only loyal one is his gun that's his loyal girlfriend and at the same time referring to a girl it's a metaphor
True and the album Jay Z got it from is one where 2pac was dissing Jay Z. I remember when Jay and Beyonce made their version the radio had a version they played that blended the versions together and gave Pac the last verse. 2pac got the idea for this song from "Nas - I gave you power". It wasnt the same beat or rhymes but Nas rapped from the perspective of being a gun and feeling used. 2pac loved the idea of that even though he dissed Nas he loved Nas album and squashed beef with him before dying.
The whole song is a Metaphor, he's talking about an "Assault Rifle" and throughout the song this weapon tranforms into a real Woman and from a Woman morphing back into an assault rifle. "Sleeping loaded with you by my bedside". When he says "I love finger-Fucking you" that's a Metaphor, yes he may be talking about flicking the bean on his girl, but as an assault rifle he's talking about pulling the trigger. "All of a sudden I'm hearing thunder when you bust a nut" he's talking about when he pulls the trigger flash fire comes out like thunder and lightning as he's spraying bullets. "After a hit you break apart, then back to one piece" after a hit you take your rifle apart to clean it, the put it back together. "Blacker than the darkest night" meaning blue steel on an Ar-15 aka the Black rifle. The whole thing is a Metaphor! Great song. Grew up with this version, the Jay Z version is cool when you wanna sing it with your lady, but the 2pac version will always be better!
2pac one of the all time hip hop greatest lyricist hands down. So much passion, charismatic, this song so sick how he rides the beat with these lyrics all the while describing some gangsta shit! One for the thugs fasho but, live by the gun die by the gun
Tupac has a huge female following. Alot of them think this is a bonny and Clyde song. It's not.. it's about him and his gun. This is sad because alot of hood girls use this to justify their thugness. Jay-Z and bey just capitalized on the bonnie and Clyde theme. Tupac had love only for one female. His mom
There's no comparison. 2Pac's version is haunting and powerful! I remember the first time I heard it, I got chills! And that was before I even realized that he wrote it as a metaphor for his gun! I see the Jay-z/Beyonce version as a sanitized, commercialized version that fails to capture the essence of the original song. I grew up listening to 2pac. He was the realest MC ever! I am not sure he would have approved of that remake, to be honest.
Still waiting with great anticipation for you to do a reaction video for "We're all in the same gang". One thing that is kinda ironic about it is that the song was done by only West Coast artists. The East coast rappers (Mostly New York) also did an anti gang violence song called "Self Destruction". But it's sad that the divide was apperant even then as the different factions calling for less division had their own self imposed division in their anti gang colaborations. The Dirty South always stood alone and commanded there own respect with no need or want of support from the outside.
Tupac version is always and will always be number one, cause he isn't rapping about b**ch, he's rapping about a gun, pay attention to the lyrics it'sjust yana
Just found your channel. Your facial reactions are hilarious. Especially knowing Pac was talking about his gun and I belive you were thinking it was actually a female. LMAO priceless. I'm subscribed
While listening to Shakur's The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, producer Kanye West suggested that American rapper Tupac Shakur's song "Me and My Girlfriend" would make a good sample to use on Jay-Z's duet with Beyoncé...Tensions arose during the conception of "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" over the sampling of "Me and My Girlfriend. Senior Vice President of A&R Tina Davis commented on the issue, "We only had one day to clear the [Tupac Shakur] sample [from 'Me and my Girlfriend'] that was used on ''03 Bonnie and Clyde' last year with Jay-Z and Beyoncé [Beyoncé]. We were back and forth with Afeni Shakur all day until we got the clearance. And then it's a hit."
Jay-Z and Kanye made that song with Beyonce out of respect to Pac and Ms Afeni approved the Jay-Z version and spoke to him directly about it. Pac got the idea for the song from the Nas song I GAVE YOU POWER. That song was the first time Pac put the new Beat Makers at CanAm DEATH ROW Records studio to the test and called 2 of them into the room and had them make the best from scratch in front of everyone. The drums were laid first then bass guitar and strings and the rest was added later after Pac's vocals during post-production. Although Pac talked iisshh and made songs dissing Nas he loved the Nas album IT WAS WRITTEN and took ideas and beats from that album. The female screaming on the track is the receptionist that worked at the front desk at CanAm DEATH ROW Records studios and that is how she normally talked (screamed) if she wasn't handling company business.
It'sJust Yana I hope u understand he's not taking about a woman he's taking about his gun more than one gun actually a 9mm and a 22 and a 45 caliber pistol
The most famous lyric ever by 2pac which is ironic today is " NIGGAS TALK ALOT OF SHIT BUT THATS AFTER I'm GONE CAUSE THEY FEAR ME IN THE PHYSICAL FORM "
And to twist the knife further, Jay and Nas were interviewed by Sway a few years after PAC’s death, Jay rode with Puff and Biggie so Pac didn’t like Jay and they had open loud feuds and disses in their records. So, Nas had the courage to talk face to face to Pac in NY and they each had their posse strapped and jumpy. However, Nas and Pac came to an understanding to the point that Pac said he was going to remove parts from his next track that insulted Nas and told his Outlawz posse to stand down and everyone went home, few days later Pac was killed and didn’t get to fix the tracks, however Nas already knew.. Jay never had the balls to do that. So, in the interview he answers a question from Sway about what they truly thought about PAC’s work now that the feud was over due to the death of Pac, and states; “ well, I believe that all that Pac lacked in technique and style he made up for it with his passion, he was a very passionate dude...”! That is no complement. In one phrase you diss his technique and in the next you try and complement?? Then, you steal his words and beat in 03’?? Just wack...
A lot of y'all youngsters don't even know what he talking about he talkin about rolling around with his gun he talkin about having his gun his pistol he talked about his gun he's not talking about a girl he's talking about a gun
Yea, Tupac was the man. Jay Z got big right after the demise of PAC....Look up Jay Z "biter not a writer" and see how many bars Jay stole over the years.
It’s metaphorically about guns and firearms. .45, 9mm, .22 are ammo sizes. Other lines refer to colors, shooting rounds, how the barrels get hit when you fire multiple rounds. Give “Never seen a man cry” by Scarface a try.
Never leave me baby, I'm paranoid, sleepin' witcha Loaded by my bedside crazy Jealous when you hang wit the fellas, I wait patiently alone Anticipated for the moment you come home I'm waitin' by the phone this is true love, I can feel it I've had a lot of women in my bed, but you the realest So if you ever need me call, I'll be there through it all You're the reason I can stand tall, me and my girlfriend
U know Tupac such a inspiration I swear . When he had beef with the Diaz brothers over what he's morals, he was asked to play a Muslim gangbanger ( gang thug ) . He says it himself in an interview he said I do not play parts that don't exist! Only 22 at the time he rufused a 100 k , for anyone coming up in the game them days nobody would of thought of making a fuss about such a petty thing , but my man was to intelligent and understood the media and the potentials it will have on people watching a belony movie about shit that don't exist . If only he was here today and see how muslims are portrayed as terrorists , a Muslim is a man who gives up this worldly material life for sacrificing for ur lord these temptations on earth . So when he must of seen his homeboys fix up when finding Islam that's why he knew there was benefits in a religion like Islam for the black community. I swear if Tupac was here he would of been of made the world a better place
Pac's version is more hardcore. Plus its difficult to out perform the original. Only person I can tbink of that made a remake of a song better than the original is Lauren Hill. Also you are beautiful!
LUKE 1854 No I'm notvsaying Lauren Hill is better. I'm saying on that 1 song I feel Lauren Hill's version was better. You gotta understand production plays a big part as well. In 1995 production was more advanced than when Roberta Flak recorded her version. So Lauren's voice plus production with The Fugee's to me it was just a better version
This my first time on your channel and I like it, you play G-music and you a beautiful female. There’s nothing more deadlier then a beautiful black women who learns lessons from old school G-music
His "Girl Friend" was his gun... You gotta disipher the song. This song by 2 Pac was influenced by a NAS song called "power"... when Nas was talking like he was a GUN, from a Guns perspective. Shit is crazy. Anyway check it out baby girl
Kayne West is the one who talked Jay Z into using this Tupac song. But that's why Jay Z had the mural of Tupac in his versions video. Tupac Rifa Seimpre is written under the mural... Did you noticed the mural to Tupac in the video Jay Z and Beyonce did?
This is Hip Hop Famly. When u had 2listen 2 suntin like 3xs jus to "catch" the meaning. Tupac did it here by relating his girl 2his gun. Nas did it too with "I gave u Power". Not 2mention Common with "I Used to love h.e.r. (talkn about Hip Hop).
Ok So is talking about his weapon.. But Westside in the spiritual realm is the female (the moon). He talking about his female spirit guide that holds him down. His Brenda. This is a deep love track
2pac o.g version is waaay better than jay z version, and to detail its very weird for jz to redo pac song, and he did not like him,he once reffered to him as gay-z lol
You actually don't need clearance to use lyrics, but Jay got did a song for a Deathrow soundtrack, so he was on good terms with Suge. The video for this had 2pac's face on the wall as a tribute. Pac really didn't have a beef with Jay, because Jay wasn't popping back then. He was just dissing him, because he was cool with Big
JAY-Z was kidnapped in California while he was hanging wit dre. Suge knight called the kidnappers and saved his ass. Suge told him to make it up to him by shouting out Pac in a song. Jay's next song was me and my girlfriend....TRUE story
Lady of Rage at the beginning and shooting at the middle of the first verse. This Baby Dee on Next Friday who was chasing Dey-Dey (Mike Epps) who he gave the 🍪 to, throughout the movie.
He's singing that song,"All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend.Down to ride till the bloody end, just me and my girlfriend." Cause he is saying his girlfriend and his homeboy/girlfriend. He took it off a lesbian band. Jay Z getting back at 2pac. Its a money thing. Plus he dissed him.
Girl with the high bun ! Check out Sickick this guy is gona be the next revolution in music creative style and amazing plz plz plz check him out you won't be disappointed Luvv Mezz
It's crazy when I read a lot of messages I'm not a lot of people know the diss songs about a gun like when she said I'm jumping out busting on y'all that's him jumping out with a gun in his hand and the gun is talkin when it busts when a gun shoot it talks like it makes a loud sound so y'all youngsters get it together
Tupac's version is obviously better. I remember when i first heard the Jay Z and Beyonce version, i was pissed off that he would take that song and water it down. After hearing the Jay Z and Beyonce version on the radio all the time, that made it hard to listen to the original Tupac version the same.
