Reggie was right Biggies album did get more promotion and was more radio friendly than Me Against The World. But how 2pac gonna make Dear Mama for his mom and his mom dies on Mothers Day..That's crazy. Dear Mama still getting played to this day every Mothers day 🙏
Tupac's music was not radio friendly like Biggie's was. PAC had a few radio songs but most of his stuff u couldn't play on the radio. That was always one of the things i heard people say why Biggie music was better because it could be played on the radio.
Bad boy did they thing on the biggie album but in order to get that radio play, they had to make a million remixes and collabs. Pac was on vacation and the album hit #1 with no promotion or radio edits.
They only Remix one of his songs...Biggie had like 4 songs on Rotation, Juicy, Big Poppa, Warning and One More Chance...I Fuck with Pac, but Ready To Die had Shit on Smash...
@@sincerethegod325 same as me like I’m a pac fan i just hate the stigma that we have to love one and hate the other , biggie shit was hard no doubt about it , i feel LAD is a better double album than AEOM being unbiased
"Me Against the World" was my introduction to Tupac. The rest is history. I was stationed in Korea when Biggie's 1st album came out. That cassette stayed in the tape deck. LOL! It was a great year for music. Usher's 1st album, Black Street hit in that time frame too. 94/95
1996 was basically year of the pac. 1996 was a crucial year in general. 2pac micheal Jackson was hot. Micheal jordon was hot.. Mike tyson was hot. Hell even shawn micheals was hot. 1996 was that year
He right biggie album was poppin more on radio, but me against the world was #1 and in my opinion is one of the best albums in music. Not hip hop music, just music in general.
Hell no!!! Go look at the stats at the time those albums dropped. MATW was at the top of the charts. Biggie had to do quite a few remixes to build some steam behind RTD.
Dummy do u realize Biggie was new to the main stream and Pac had years in it already Big had to make a introduction Pac was known already so yeah Big had to do more work that's common sense
More Radio Play where ? Only in NY. Everywhere else [West/Central/South], Pac was on Heavy Rotation. Htptiwny [i.e., (May) Peace & Blessings be unto You (All)]
Anyone who have listened toda Me Against The World the Original unreleased version? That shit fuckin great . 2Pac had to stretch all Biggy and Stretch featured songs. But even the Official version is amazing. PAC was a genius.
Tupac was locked up with me against the world came out with no promotions in my opinion Me against the world is my favorite album of all time so I gotta go with me against the world but of course they was promoting biggie heavy and 95 and it was a good album no denying that
@@simuelwilliams4038 Ready to Die never went number one, it peaked at number 15 on Billboard albums charts, Biggie album wasn't selling until ''Juicy'' and ''Big Poppa'' Singles. Me Against The World was number one four four weeks straight in 1995, Dear Mama went platinum too.
To clarify: Reg is referring to singles not albums. Biggie had the radio on smash with Junior Mafia songs and remixes, the classic bad boy sound, not ready to die songs
@@LurnWell Duhhh...real hip hop fans love Ready to Die for the other songs not the 3 you mentioned. Reg is talking about how Big finally had commercial airplay with those 3 but in particular extra hot with thr Junior Mafia radio songs (aka what big ghostwrote)
Most of Ready to Die is in the same vibe as Thug Life Vol 1 and Me Against the World. It was too real and hardcore for the radio so Puffy got to work and watered it down, remixing “One More Chance” and pushing the “fun loving/positive” songs like “Big Poppa” and “Juicy” as opposed to the songs that really epitomized Biggie and where he came from, aka “Machine Gun Funk,” “Things Done Changed” and “Everyday Struggle”
Ready to die dropped in late 94 thou MATW was 95 not sure how soul train decided that...biggie was the biggest rapper in 95 (pac being locked up most the year) no debate about that and biggie own the airwaves at least in NYC
Right...ready to day came out at the very end of the summer in september. juicy came out right before that...that album was hot the rest of 94 and 95. not sure how it gets nominated almost 2 years later
We don’t have to diss the other album to make a point! Truthfully they are both timeless classics!!! Life after death is a classic! Me against the world is a classic! We still beefing over pac and big it’s like we haven’t learnt nothing! Stop choosing sides
Me against the world sold more than ready to die. In fact Biggie greatest hits album sold over a million copies till date. PAC greatest hits sold over 10 million to date. No comparison 🤷🏽♂️
Me against the world was actually released in 95 while pac was locked up.....Ready to die was damn near 2 years old and the one more chance remix (released after) and the junior mafia album so yeah biggie did have a big buzz . but as for an album released in the year of 1995 Me against the world was huge
@@ShawnBrown-qh4md yet me against sold more copies and reached number one beating Bruce Springsteen and many others at the time. So obviously couldn’t have been better if more people were buying pac material then the commercial spins big music was getting publically didn’t equate to the overall success of MATW
i personally like me against the world more than ready to die but im fairly certain ready to die did better commercially. That doesnt make it the better album but i think critical consensus is fairly even between the 2, so you can def make an argument that means the commercial performance of Biggie gives him the better album/year. Then again, Ready to die was actually released in 1994 so one can argue that it wasn't actually 1995 either. Of course Biggie prob had more prolific features and B-side type records in 1995 since Pac spent most of the year in jail.
That's a great point...ready to die was late 94 MATW early 95 but big was the biggest rapper in 95 and ofcourse pac spent most of 95 in jail Funny how even thou big didnt released a album in 95 songs like one more chance remix, who shot ya, and songs like get money and players anthem were some of the biggest songs of the year (I believe he also had a song with Michael Jackson that got alot of radio play that year too)
@@bartier861 my post seemed like i was hating on biggie? or you are just asking? I think a lot of really hardcore Pac/Death Row fans may have some negative emotions toward him cuz of their feud and their feeling that he didnt do right by Pac etc I try to just deal with the music side of things since i didnt know either of them personally. Quite honestly, I've always felt Big was a little overrated even though still a great GREAT artist just not in the convo for GOAT with Pac, Nas, even Jay Z but just thats JUST my opinion. I realize that if we are trying to take the discussion into a more "objective" realm, then critics/accolades, can def paint him possibly even THE GREATEST.
@@bartier861 I can't speak for everyone but bring the same age as big and one year younger than pac I appreciate both...always been a bigger fan of pac music, work ethic Charisma and style but I have tremendous respect for big as a artist
@@mikegribanov6105 if we’re being 100% honest biggie was more lyrically proficient than pac but pac’s music mostly had a deeper meaning and you felt it more
You can play damn near every song on Me against The World. U can’t do that with Ready to Die. MY OPINION. And I wished 2pac would of performed that night
No Disrespect but you're Crazy...Pac my dude but Ready to Die was it...From Start to Finish especially for his First Album..It Took Pac about 4 albums to make his Breakthrough album...Me Against the World definitely had a few songs you can skip but Definitely was a Good Album
Cause biggie music is pop. Bad boy music is more pop then anything. So they get more radio play. PAC was locked up, unable to promote his album, he isn’t even in the music videos and it still did that well. Biggie was all hype. Inflated by the media creating a east coast west coast war. Everyone wanted to hear if he would respond back with a Diss song. Even more so after his death. Pac soul still around and influencing the younger generations. Biggie is just a memory that is tied in with pacs death. Nothing more…. Nothing less..
It only got more radio play because they was trying to ban Tupac in certain areas but Tupac is the people's champ so they couldn't... They been trying to ban Pac since he jumped in the rap game
Bruh stop lying Temptations got massive amount radio play Dear Mama was over played and Shed so many tears got massive play Biggie got the same amount play as Pac difference was 1 more chance was killing the game
@@theetruth8626 now that's cap dear mama is in the Vatican and deemed one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all times... And NY was banning Tupac... The vice president at the time was boycotting Tupac when he was jumping in the game and C. Delores tucker... You obviously know nothing about the cancellation of Tupac in NY because the djs was hating on him... Research before you speak bruh everyone knows this
@@tcook2236 bruh I don't need to research it silly because u lived it and u lying New York was the one playing Dear Mama Temptations and shed so many tears so stop it with the lies and Pac didn't start getting the attention until after the off duty cop in Atlanta and the people who killed a person and blame Tupac music or when 2pac and company shot a kid in the bay I'm very aware of what was going on just like I was very aware of what was playing on the radio and music videos and it was Pac me against the world songs so u can stop all that lying

the worst decision of Tupac's life was signing and moving to Deathrow and LA... he tried to fit in with the gang culture there... and it wasnt him.....
But he got Biggie killed. Job well done...God was really using Pac...when God was the one allowing things to happen. Satan deceived Biggie Smalls...now he's really small...get it??! Lol small like dust damn son.
He was already living on the West Coast ' wtf are you talking bout . Please show proof that he tried to fit n with the gang culture . That nigga being the same since his first album
@@3rdGenerationCancer I disagree. Dear Mama, Temptations, She'd So Many Tears all had radio play... Pac was doing movies that was doing B.I.G (numbers too! Lol. Stop it!
Word, these pac stans are tweaking!!! Biggie RTD album was ahead of it's time. It had a early 00s sound to it and was diverse sound espically with that jamamican artist.
2pac music was use in a court case in TX saying it made a guy shoot a police.lol That's why 2pac wasn't on the radio as much. Lol not because Biggie was hotter.
Reggie is right about the airplay.. Pac had the number one album IN THE COUNTRY (bearing in mind thats ALL genres in 95/96, an incarcerated BLACK HIP HOP ARTIST IS NUMBER ONE 😎). And inspite of ALL those facts, BIGGIE'S 'R2D' album was getting WAY MUCH MORE AIRPLAY on the radio than Pacs 'MATW' was... its actually quite sad when u come to think about it.. its like, was it political? Was the radios hating? Did R2D release more singles than METW? Guess we'll never know FOR CERTAIN... RIP 🙏 PAC N BIG
@@reggiewright thanks bro. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a mad fan of your era bro. We all been through shady shit. REGGIE REPLIED ME LETS GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏 LOVE FROM THE UK 🇬🇧
Pac got Radio Play but Ready to Die had Shit on Smash though....That Album Dominated Streets, Radio, and Clubs..only other album that did that was Doggystyle...
Biggie album Dominated Streets, Radio and Clubs...His album was more impact full especially being his First album..Pac album went 1 because it outsold the albums that came out that week, that's all..Me Against the World went Double Platinum at that Time. The Chronic 4 million, Doggystyle 3 million, Ready to Die 2 5 million back then all First albums, that was Pac 4th Album...Dear Ma Ma alone Boosted his sales...
Me Against The World was a much better album than Ready To Die. I think 2Pac had more radio play than Biggie. Dear Mama, So Many Tears, Me Against The World, and Temptations we’re the singles being played 1995. Biggie it was One More Chance, Big Papa, Warning, Unbelievable, and Juicy from Ready To Die. 2Pac Me Against is a classic album. Easily I can say it’s a much better album. I hope one day Reggie bumps Me Against The World and sees what we have been saying about that album.
Hopefully u listen to ready to die and not just the singles they play on the radio stupid.. the songs on ready to die that wasn’t getting played on the radio was better then them singles u just named
I can’t wait to see the day Reggie gets to the majors n can share his stories with real visuals cause these are the things ppl that really fux with Tupac should know 💯 much luv Reggie 🙏🏽
Somebody show this dude the exit please.. AEOM went harder than anything from that whole bad boy label..me against the world is on par with biggs ready to die which is my favorite
I wish Biggie and PAC's mother would've talked and got their sons together behind close doors and make them Squash that shit because they still were very young and they still would've been here
I'm not so sure both mothers were aware of what was going on when both were still alive, I believe after pac was killed then biggie mom was concern for big especially going to Cali...but I think it's safe to assume both mothers were kept out alot of that drama and if they knew the info they knew very little
I want to ask Reggie about 2Pac's coroner report. Why was he listed at 72" and 215LBS Was that his legit weight and height? 6foot and 215LBS seems off to me. Reggie please answer this question. Also I'd love one if the Bomb First Shirts or Death Row gear. Thanks bro.
No doubt Biggie owned 1995. One More Chance remix, Juicy, and Big Poppa killed it. Dear Momma, Temptations, and Shed So Many Tears collectively didn’t quite match the radio play. Although I do believe both albums were 2x-3x platinum by end of 1995 and Pac was in jail most of 1995. Great feat for Pac & Big.
Alright... I love Pac! You can tell Stans when they believe pac is better MC than Biggie. Biggie was lyrical monster, would rap circles around pac. even pac knew that.. That why came at biggie so hard because he was threat.. Biggie will always be the King of Rap
@@learner5090 big could battle rap and just be super lyrical and comedic in his flows but never would he run rings around pac. Pacs voice moved mountains alone forget everything else
Y'all need to stop with the hate because Biggie was on fire in 94 and 95 and even shit he was doing with Junior Mafia was fire as well , me against the world is a classic but in that time because I'm from that era we smoke weed and listen to me against the world but when we use hit clubs and get at the women we were bumping that Biggie shit and it's okay to like them especially when none of you had nothing to do with their beef and half of y'all were some lil niggas when that shit went down anyway 😂
Pacs music served more as a bible dealing with social, political, club, revolutionary and street subjects. It wasn’t for the clubs as you said, hence more people bought his tapes to connect on a personal level that’s why biggie had more spins but pac sold more people were listening to pac s messages just on a personal level
@@sleepydank8330 true but actually their sales were equal because PAC first album and Thug life album didn't go gold until he was dead and his 2nd album strictly for my niggas which was released in 93 didn't go platinum until 95 but Big debut came out the Gate in 94 selling two million with 2 gold and 2 platinum singles and then me against the world sold two million the following year in 95 so people was loving Big shit too
