I remember watching re-runs of Happy Days growing up in the 80's, then getting into grunge and stuff in the 90's, so when Weezer released this video it was an instant hit with me and most of my friends

Finally I find people that know Happy Days. As a kid I used to watch it all the time and then came Laverne and Shirley. But anyway most reactors think that Weezer is part of Happy Days and dont know 1 single person in it. Great job ladies. You made my day. With that Im going to add to your sub list

Some much younger reactors to this video for the first time might have not have understood the reference to "Happy Days" and the splicing used, similar to that used in Forrest Gump. My niece listened to this nonstop back when this came out. I had ordered a few CD's from Columbia House back when they were still a thing, and no I don't owe them s*** lol. But I remember her saying- "Hey can I listen to this?" I'm like "Sure" and then it was this all day, all night- "Oohhh weee ooooh, I look just Buddy Holly! Oh oh and your Mary Tyler Moore! I don't care what they say about us anyway, I don't care about that!" At first it was fun, then it was so aggravating and I wanted to pull all of my hair out lol.

It's funny. Lots of the younger generations are getting into bands like this, but don't actually get half of the pop culture references. They do know who Buddy Holly was because he was a rocker, but old TV shows are outside their ken. However at the time this record came out, The Mary Tyler Moore Show was still in regular syndication on Nick at Nite.

My first timing watching this video was the same. I cared more about the video than the song. I think it was kind of groundbreaking for it’s time, as far as music videos go.

I have to say, I thought of Buddy Holly fairly recently. I bought a pair of glasses and let’s just say they were very thick black frames and I was pretty sure I looked like Buddy Holly or my grandma from the 60’s. 😂 I put a picture up on Instagram and the votes were in favor of Buddy Holly. It’s interesting every time he’s brought up there’s of course the way his career ended tragically along with his life. The place where the plane crash occurred isn’t that far from where we used to live. In fact if we go to Illinois to visit Justin’s family we have to go by there. I do enjoy Weezer a lot and this is one of their more well known songs but not their best known song. I would argue the song they’re really known for (Beverly Hills), isn’t quite as good as some of their other songs. They also do a great cover of Africa by Toto. Poor Lydia just doesn’t seem to be rallying very well. We took her in again this morning and I’m not sure what to do for her. Hopefully in the next couple of days she will start to improve. It breaks my heart to see her so helpless. Thanks for this video! It was a bright spot in a really hard day. You have no idea how many people you touch with your videos. We love you Grannies! 🖤🤘🏻
We really enjoyed this one but as Jeff pointed out, the video was as good as the song. I absolutely adored Happy Days. Except for Fonzi’s over the top abilities ( 😂 ) it was very realistic having grown up through the 50’s & 60’s. The whole thing was amazing. Sorry to hear our girl Lydia is still feeling bad. I watched repeats of Happy Days as a kid in the 80's, The Fonz was the coolest person ever to me as a kid but later on i learned his real name is Henry Winkler, the least cool name possible!!!

OK…..here we go. No, I’m not clear of cancer nor will I ever be clear forever. I have what is known as MDS, Mylodisplastic Syndrome which is a type of bone marrow cancer. The only thing that’s known to cure it for good is a bone marrow transplant. That’s not happening. Insurance won’t pay for it at my age & it costs over a million dollars. Crazy, right? So, once a month for 7 straight days I get 2 chemo shoots in my abdomen. I’ve been doing it for about 14 months now and will have to do it for the rest of my life. I used to have to get blood transfusions too, but I haven’t needed one for several months. This treatment has my red & white blood cells back to normal, but if I stopped doing the shots the blood counts would drop & I’d die. This treatment doesn’t work for everybody so you see how BLESSED I truly am. I’m feeling good and I’m good with all of this too. I’m happy. Well, that’s my story. Thanks for reading it until the end.
