The way Floor absolutely crushes the end is simply stunning. She elevates every Anette song to another level, by an order of magnitude. She’s a gift from God.
A Roller coaster of emotion ? ... Oh my god what will you say when you hear "The poet and The Pendulum" live wembley 2016 or "The Greatest Show on earth" live tampere 2015 ahah
You would have loved Ann. She was a special lady. Super kind and loved to help reactors get to know the band better. Everyone waited for her to arrive in the comment section and post The "Ann Waychoff Speech" for new reactors. She will be dearly missed.
Grannies - that was most definitely The 💩! It's my favourite Nightwish song, and the one that gave me my childhood back. Marko is actually one of the sweetest, funniest, most intelligent men you could ever meet. He and Floor used to (up to last Christmas) participate in a Christmas Metal concert with several other Finnish bands. There's a famous video of her singing "Oh, Holy Night" (in Finnish) whilst very heavily pregnant with her now-three year old daughter. She sings it with such gusto I dare you not to cry! Perhaps one of my colleagues from the Nightwish Army will post a link. And thanks for your kind words about Our Ann. 😘 #GrannieSquid 🦑
I love watching you react to Nightwish. They are my favorite band and even though I'm the only one in my family who likes metal my grandma, who just turned 99 years old this month, was the only one who moved her head and enjoyed it every time I played a Nightwish song, she's been living in a nursing home for a couple of years now but she's very healthy, which it's a lot at 99, and survived 3 strokes... she's tough and very metal haha. Unfortunately I haven't been able to hug her since March cause of the pandemic and we're only allowed to see her through the window, but every time I see you ladies enjoying metal it warms my heart cause it reminds me of the times I listened to Nightwish with her, I'm pretty sure she would like you very much. So horns up to all the rocking grannies out there and thank you very much for sharing your videos with us 🤘. Big hugs from Argentina 🇦🇷
So far, sadly, only seen Nightwish once live. But, boy, what a concert. Floor, as soon as she walks on stage, has the audience on a piece of string. Check out the performance of Amaranth at the same Wacken 2013 gig, and it shows how well she controls the audience. Tuomas' reaction, with his head in his hands and a beaming smile, says it all.
WITHIN TEMPTATION- PARADISE WITHIN TEMPTATION- PARADISE WITHIN TEMPTATION- PARADISE WITHIN TEMPTATION- PARADISE the first singer of Nightwish is in this song and within temptation is amazing!! Highly recommend!!! Thank you ladies💕
Hey Grannies, I am a 67 yr old grannie. Keep up the good work. We grew up in the time of the Doors; Early Stones; early Bowie; Led Zepplin; Black Sabbath etc. We been loving rock music since we were teens, isn't that true? Its so great to see amazing music being still made and loved. I still keep up with lots of today's music and my husband and I head off to concerts when we get the chance. Last one was 3-hours live of The Cure. So great. Great to see your channel. :)
First off i'd like to say Thank you both! Im 32 years old and have been a metal head most of my life, its so amazing to see an older generation appreciate the music that shaped me. When my son has children of his own i hope they think im as awesome as the two of you, our metal grannies!! May i suggest the bands, All That Remains In Flames Killswitch Engage Much love and keep it up! Aware
Thank you sweet ladies.. she was a member of your generation, she was just as sweet as you both are... I'm 52 now, so I understand your fascination a bit... You were young ladies when metal started... Just like my mother was a fan of metal during the seventies and the eighties... But it is so much fun for younger people to have the privilege of your company and guidance.. Just like Ann was.. and your hearts are in the right place... thanks for being of comfort while we trying to find our way post- Ann Waychoff.. it is really a treat to return to your channel!
Yes, I think of Ann too every time when I watch these Nightwish reaction videos. Miss her comments thought... She was always so excited when I told her some little detail related to the band or band member or some little behind-the-scenes-trivia that I as a Finn know. She always said: "Keep them coming! I want to know it all!" Thank you, 2RG, for this reaction and stay safe!
You two are SO wholesome, I really wanna be your friend haha! I'm so happy you reacted to Nightwish again, they're my favourite band, so escapist and gorgeous. Also, Floor is a force of nature!!!
What a wonderful reaction video - Nightwish absolutely rock - There's life beyond Tarja - The gap between metal and classical is today less than when I grew up, and this band show the pinnacle of songwriting and opera with the loudest & greatest metal.
Nice reaction! Glad to see you ladies back with more Nightwish. I would suggest 'Ever Dream' the song performed right before this, at Wacken 2013. For your next NW reaction! 'Spooky' Marco sings in it as well!
Baiko What are you talking about? Henk was the dutch Phantom of the Opera for decades and he is one of Andrew Loyd Webbers all-time favorites. The song needs a classicly trained musical voice to really explode. Phantom of the Opera is a musical, not an opera, so I think Floor and Henk really nails it. Floor actually grew up watching Henk play the Phantom.
Baiko What Patrick said 👆🏻It’s a stage musical song. It’s not the same as what an opera or Nightwish song is. Henk’s voice is how it’s meant to be sung.
when the warrior princess , gone tell a story,.... you listen and klap your hands when told..... and you now the voice will enter and the emotions... love
You girls are just scratching the surface with the awesomeness that is the Nightwish journey. Ghost River , Dark Chest of Wonders and Romanticide from this same concert Wacken 2013 are also epic and will give you more Marko(base) + Floor greatness. And then there’s Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley live and the Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere live, two masterpieces. And yes , Nightwish and Floor are the shits🤟🤟✌️✌️
I love listening to you both! Thank you, you are a treat to hear as my grandmothers have both passed away! Can I claim you two now, lol. This entire concert is amazing, wish I could have been there. You should definitely listen to Ghost River, Last Ride of the Day, and Ever Dream.
The more of this band you watch you will see EVERYONE in this band is at the top of their game. They are all sooooo f’n talented it’s sick. Thank you covid for trapping in my house and leading me to symphonic metal.
Ann 😥😭💔. Such a loss... such a phenomenal person... someone I knew even in real life, who I met when I first discovered Nightwish in 2018 as a sub on here. Super great friend to say the absolute least, great support when I was in a chaotic and dark place. We should all be like her in strength, and she didn't hate anyone - even the worst of trolls (she'd still tell them off though).
Greetings from Finland. This song is about an old man on his death bed recalling a story to a young child. Thanks for this & take care and keep on rocking with more great reactions to come.
Thank you. Ann would have loved you two, you would have been a great team. Thank you for doing this to her memories. You are the coolest reaction couple, love you two. If you want to see Nightwish as it's very very best with Floor, the whole band and the audience, check out ' I Want My Tears Back' from Buenos Aires 2018.
Floor wasn’t even the bands official singer yet. She had been touring a couple of months with Nightwish as stand-in for Anette. This was her first big show, her big introduction to the european fans and many say it’s the best Nightwish show ever. A few months later she became their lead singer.
Yeah I watched them in Manchester, had no idea Annette was replaced as it were with Floor. We only heard just before watching them and were pretty nervous..but we instantly fell in love with her so glad she stuck around and became lead.
Dear Grannies. Your channel is absolutely my favorite now here on RU-vid. I am so lucky about every new upload and you always make me smile. Please never stop with that! Warm regards from Germany
Glad to know you have not forgotten about nightwish :) A tip for your channel. Create playlists for reactions for the same band. That way fans can both listen to your reactions of their favorite bands in a more organized way and at the same time listen to new ones in the same way (playlists are pretty useful in cel phones where the complete title or the search functions are not as smooth as the laptop or desktop computer's)
Well I am a great-grandfather so you gals are right up my alley!! Never thought I would find a couple of old hippie gals rockin' out to Nightwish!! And our Army is thrilled about yall's love of this band. They are all married with children(remember that TV show? lol I love Sofia Vergara she is so funny!) I suspect that by now you know the backstory of how Floor came to be the frontwoman of the biggest symphonic metal band in its genre so I won't go into detail on that wonderful story. Thank you for mentioning Ann we were all just destroyed by her passing. We were not prepared for it b/c it was so sudden. RIP dearest Ann we will never forget you. :-( :-( Keep on rockin', Grannies!!
Yay, great reaction, love you guy’s sooo much. You still need to do Nightwish The Greatest Show On Earth live Tampere, it’s 20 minutes Long song, and it is AMAZING!!!!!!!
as always , i love ur reaction. when touring starts again in this crazy world, i want to be standing with u guys in the front at a nightwish concert...
How I would have loved to have discovered you lovies during our confinement in Spain. I would have had a lot more time to enjoy you both... But I will catch up. Big love from Spain
If you two are loving Nightwish so much check out the movie Imaginaerum. It's a Drama/Fantasy/Musical co-written by Tuomas featuring the band's music and the band as actors. It's from 2012 so it has Anette rather than Floor or Tarja but it's still great if you're a fan of the band's music.
Loved it!! Yeah Marko is kind of spooky lol. He's also an amazing singer. You should try one of the songs where he takes the lead, like The Islander or While Your Lips are Still Red.
This band is so awesome live! I would love to see you ladies at one of their shows! Try something different...Eluveitie - The Call of the Mountains!!! 😁
In a couple of years you will both still be absolutely rocking! There is no doubt in my mind. The lovely man with the distinctive beard Marko Hietala has a few videos up on you tube from his new album which are worth checking out. For mellow and beauty try "The Voice Of My Father" or if you want more rocking try "Stones". I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. He has a great voice as well. Love your reactions. All the best to you both.
It so funny hearing you say "if i had a voice like that i would be singing all day around the house", in an interview a while ago Floor told reporters that here daughter would actualy say "no singing mommy", if Floor sang here a lullaby. It just made me laugh....
Thank you for another great reaction. Yours is an empty hope shows Floor doing some growling and weak fantasy and seven days to the wolves have great energy. 👍😀
Yes grandma The long-hairy blonde named Marco Hietala is so spookie. And he has a "spookie" voice too. Just watch when he sang HIGH HOPES by PINK FLOYDS Or KISS WHILE YOUR LIPS ARE STILL RED at WEMBLEY ARENA Or THE ISLANDER at TAMPERE
You wonderful ladies would love the Canadian power metal band called, Unleash the Archers. Their whole album called Apex is a thrilling story from start to finish. I'd recommend starting with the lead track on that album, Awakening. I've been hooked on their music after hearing that song. Keep up the great work ladies!
Grannies nightwish is on tour they are waiting for corona restrictoons to end to start touring and iam sure there are some dates in the USA and canada so go for it and watch them live.!!!love You girls you are the best!!!!
So funny that Nanna King thinks That Marco looks spooky. 😁. If you watch any interviews of him....he is the NICEST,, down to earth guy....lovely speaking voice....and smart and knowledgeable too. The Whole band love and respect each other allot, and you can see that in their smiles onstage. I am so jealous of his beautiful white hair.......if my hair were pure white and I had enough of it, I’d grow it that long too, even at my age! 😉
Great reaction from the coolest grannies on this planet! Now you've done several reactions at Nightwish (great band from Finland), you should do some reaction to the pioneers of the genre (symphonic metal), Therion from Sweden. I would suggest 'Rise of sodom and gomorra' (full orchestral live version), Clavigula knox, Sirens of the woods, Asgaard or the live version of Ginnungagap or Lemuria.
Nice tribute to Ann. Thankyou. I'm sure she's up there with Eugene Shoemaker among the stars. Definitely one to try Shoemaker from their new album Now it's time for a little story.....🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Marco is spooky🤣🤣🤣🤣. Very intelligent guy. Well worth listening to Floor Finds on RU-vid where she talks to Marco.
Allright, "Ghost river" may be next but please, please, please do "I want my tears back" (Buenos Aires version is really rockin') someday in the future ^^ Love you two, you're awesome!
We need to introduce HEILUNG to these beautiful ladies. Somethings so unusual... This band is completely journey to the Iron/Bronze ages. In Maidjan by Heilung great song.
Some Nightwish suggestions that I believe you would both enjoy are- "Ever Dream" from the same Wacken 2013 concert, "Sahara" live in Tampa, and "7 Days To the Wolves" live at Wembley. Also, I just want to suggest a non-Nightwish song, from another one of my favorite bands- "The Sound of Silence" by Disturbed. It's a cover of the classic Simon and Garfunkel song and it's really worth a listen!
I don’t know how much you read comments, but since this is Storytime, I’ll tell a story. Around this time last year, I was lower than I’ve ever been. Depression, anxiety, etc., had brought me to a point of considering suicide, but late one night, by chance, a reaction video from Alex Hefner popped up. It was Nightwish Ghost Love Score. That video physically dragged me into a better mood then watching their performance of Pit and the Pendulum (without knowing the backstory) genuinely cured my suicidal depression. I listened to it nonstop and could not stop crying and letting these negative emotions flow out. Then their song Greatest Show on Earth significantly reduced my existential anxiety. So yeah, 1 year later, I’m much better in the head and I can genuinely say Nightwish probably saved my life. Also, Rest In Peace Ann. Just found out on this video and my heart is broken. I hope you know how much you mean to people you would never meet in this life. But whatever comes next, I hope it’s awesome and I can meet you. ❤️
Another great video, covering my favourite Nightwish song!! I've just subscribed to your channel too, I'm a rocking Granddad myself, at 56, I'm growing old disgracefully!! LOL!! Would love to see your reaction to some Testament, possibly Over The Wall or my favourite Testament song, Burnt Offerings.
I just became one of the granny squad. Love it. Best line. Holy Mackerel, that was just the shit. Gotta keep doing Nightwish ladies. Just wait till the pooky one starts singing to you. 😉 Could you please react to " Wintersun, Sons of Winter and Stars Live rehearsal."? Thanks
