@@nguyenhuyduc9151 Boyars do better vs halb then paladins, also vs most paladins they win. Only Lithuanian paladins with 3-4 relics can win them. Checked it in editor.

They are nearly as pop-efficient as elephants in the late game.

From the wiki page: "As with most cavalry units, Boyars do not fare well against Pikemen. While faring better against them than most other cavalry due to their armor and attack, Boyars are still not cost effective." Not great but better

@@spd-kv6sd It`s not unique to Bulgarian. Rus principalities had a lot of boyars as heavy cavalry warriors.

They've got pierce armor buff but speed nerf. They are basically teutonic paladins with minor variations.

+1 pierce armour, giving them the same pierce armour values as Knights and Paladins (2 and 3). Speed dropped from 1.40 to 1.30, Knights are 1.35 for reference.

I dont think you will find any. Ppl prefer to not give him the attention he wants, which is the best way to make him stop imo. I think he just spawns in ghengis khan when he is losing, thats all.

In direct combat, they're dead even right now. It comes down to who gets the first hit.

It costs much more to upgrade paladin. This is a team game, but normally anything massed as a single unit isn't that great. Power of Boyar is less about their melee armor and more that when you go halb/SO, you can mix in paladin support much cheaper than you normally ever could. Halb/SO is already a strong combo, and AoE halb with cheaper SO is even better. I'm pretty sure most ppl rank Slavs overall better than Teutons. They needed the armor buff and even with it, I personally still favor Slavs. If you have the resources to upgrade paladins, you have the resources to build a castle. TK's are far more cumbersome and easier to counter than Boyar.

@@spd-kv6sd I dont think so. When Bolgars came there were no records of any castles. Bolgars had to fortify the entire region. There were castles after the slavic people divided into nations and learned how to construct 2-3-4 floor stores. And I think it is always after another nation merged with them. Lets say ugrofins with the westerns slavs to form the Poles, Rus swedes with northern slavs to make the Russians, my people with the slavs to make Bulgarians. Slavs did not build casles. That is why they were employed as slaves into the Roman Emire as their soldiers met little resistance.

Slavs have fortified cities. Castles just added for balance reasons. Same for the American civs - they have no neither castles or even walls (i'm even not talking about crossbows or 2h swords) but they have to use them ingame.

There are no Genoese Crossbowmen in this game though, but if there were, it would indeed have been a bad decision.

@@TheViperAOE Were those Arbalests that I saw red throwing at you then? If so, my mistake. Still, dude was throwing halbs at you left and right and you just kept pumping out cavalry. It was a bit confusing.

Lithuanians can't overpower slav farms

Letis is horribly designed as a unit in the game, they counter everything and so dirty cheap to build.

Boyars will survive the next few patches. No chance Leitis won’t be nerfed in terms of gold cost again.
