This 2v8 mode is going to need some significant balancing so I'm glad they're only rolling it out temporarily, but I hope they make it permanent eventually.
Yes the problem for killers ultimately is because there so many survivors that have abilities and managed with more comfortibility to work together. If players want it balanced then the killers should have extra more buffs, hindrances, and ultilities against the survivors to make it well balanced. They need to make the killers unlimited, faster, and empowered the rest of the trial because there are only 2 of them.
@sinastir7688 I think they said that because there's a lot of people wondering why it's not permanent and they just gave their reasoning why they're glad it's temporary for now.

On a side note, I wonder if it'll be more effective for the Killers to split up, or to run in a pair. It'll be really interesting to see, honestly.
so double the survivors and only give them 3 more gens give them insane classes and for killers remove their perks and give me them minor forgettable powerups. Yeah alright.

I think they took a page out of Identity V's own 2v8 gamemode, it also had 8 gens. As an aside, survivors in IDV's 2v8 are even more busted - 3 health states, able to buy a lot of powerful items (flareguns AKA flashlights but worse, perfumes AKA "dead hard but completely negating a hit instead of just giving endurance", etc.), being able to get buffs that last all game long (how about a 30% generator speed boost? Or a movement speed boost that lets you OUTRUN SOME KILLERS?! ), while hunters AKA IDV's version of killers get... Just five buff potions that grant various effects (stun reduction, attack cooldown reduction that is equivalent to full STBFL stacks, slight speed boost, ability cooldown reduction, and higher progression speed of this game's equivalent of hook stages), and survivors being unable to instasave as the game's version of hooks "lock" for a while on first stage in that gamemode. Oh, and some hunters are also unplayable in IDV's 2v8.
Only if all killers or all original killers,we could have a full RE lobby it would be: Leon Jill Claire Chris Ada Rebecca Sheeva Carlos And killers: Birklin and Hunk or Nemesis and Wesker
My sister would freak over this. I bought her all the resident evil games and she played them all. Ontop of that she made me buy her every single resident evil survivor cosmetic and forced me to buy for myself. I chose carlos and leon to make her happy. We just need resident evil killers in
Why they didn’t make it 10 gens with 8 survivors is kind of head scratching. Also 0 regression for killers? Survivors still get toolboxes and the works, but no regression? I bet it’s a test, but no way the combined IQ if the devs at BHVR rivals a ham sandwich
+ they gave Billy base kit speed limiter from some random reason, like what the fuck that’s literally the entire point of the hillbilly like it’s gonna be so boring to play him since he’s just a support character to give ur teammate insta down
I think it's not 10 because on the maps normally, the most that can be on a map is 7 gens. And some alternate spawn locations for gens are usually close to other gen spawns
@@Azarath415 they increased sizes of these maps hence why there is only 5 maps being used. They are being super lazy about it. I want the killers to have to coordinate, but, they are making this ridiculously survivor sided and they should’ve addressed that way early

@@shannonxpennywise refreshing to see someone not automatically crying about the event before it even comes out. As an Iri Killer Main, I also look forward to what this has in store. I suspect with the right strategies only maybe the very best coordinated teams will pose a threat.
Can't even quantify how much I liked Chaos Shuffle... Since it's been removed, I have not opened the game. Even missed all the anniversary masks, just didn't feel like playing against the same copy paste builds. We ate good with that Chaos Shuffle, I miss it so much...

This is gonna be rough for killers. Hillbilly got nerfed hard and Trapper is still useless. The other 3 are about the same but survivors got buffs all around
Not only is trapper still bad, increased map size and no add ons basically gimp him further. The “abilities” for him are also bad. The only “good” one is more traps, but it hardly solves the issues Trapper faces in this mode.
No killer in their right mind should play it! I think it will be like with all modes... no perks, no add ons= boredom after 2 matches and then I go play normal dbd because all suck ups, casuals and noobs are in that mode... For me the only thing I will test is a few games with huntress, and thats it!

5:15 so... BHVR developed a thing where we can see each other's classes as survivors but they can't develop a thing that allows us to see each others perks in normal DbD? I won't question it for now I guess
Im so happy we're finally gettin cross progression. I orginally started dbd on xbox but am now playin on pc. I love xenomorph but its jus so hard to properly aim and control the tail on controller 😭
Wesker and nemesis team up, doctor and nurse team up, bubba and billy team up, the possibilities are amazing. Just imagine if they do release predator as killer, xenomorph and predator team up
They showcased a few matches on the stream It's a bit of a disaster with how quickly the gens pop Definitely need to either up the Gen count to 10 or make it so that each survivor only has 2 hook states instead of 3
I appreciate no perks and a predetermined objective vs just gen repair. I do kind of wish that it would be 10 gens instead of 8 to repair to make the game a little longer. I guess they did that because of the classes. I'm actually really excited for this. I might be hardcore panicking if I had a Billy charging at me with a huntress cross map sniping me or a nurse blinking at me. I'm excited that they are hopefully in the future making this permanent. I hope they also make chaos shuffle permanent in the future. It would be cool to have the regular games and then a bunch of different modes.
As a pc gamer, i have enjoyed it so far, you could always connect a playstation controller to your pc i believe, but you can run mods and shaders which i dont think you would be the type to get an unfair advantage with shaders, but you could, you can also make your perks look pretty
Tired of people freaking out about the balance of the new mode before anyone has played it yet. Bitching about abilities and gens when we all know the real deciding factor will be whether either side is on mic together or not.
I really hope they go this route. I liked the other modes and Anniversary fine, yes both sides. I don't think this looks that fun as a mode but I would love theoption to have something new once in a while when this mode becomes ACTUALLY balanced. That is, NOT THIS.
Not gonna lie, killers are kinda cooked, survivors have way more going on and we dont even know the medic buffs when they heal a injured survivor or survivors. Plus they basically have constant info on one or both killers (depending if your running wraith) nurse gives nothing, same with hillbilly because lets me honest the other killer if random will most likely being doing them and they won't know who is exposed im sure they'll get a random one hit, question it, move one, but i see it mostly useful when you have friend playing, suppose if hillbilly hits survivor or more with chainsaw nurse can pop off, huntress having a reval sure its great but if its for one person, eh, sure just hope when the mode comes out its more balanced for both sides.
I think the best Way Killers for Killers to play this Mode will be to split up. Its not smart to chase one Suvior togehter, because meanwhile 7 ather Suviors can sit on Gens. And trust me, Slugging will be a big Part of this, to slow down the Game.
Seeing that comment "hell yes no perks". Survivors don't need perks to do gens. I see a lot of guides, escapists with a few scouts thrown in for whatevers. This mode is going to be a shitshow on anything mid tier and higher.
When I switch progress from switch does that mean I can keep survivors and killers I bought with auric cells? If not, will I at least get to keep all perks, cosmetics, and prestige I worked for??
ngl the version of 2v8 they are describing is nothing like what i was hoping for. i'll still play it because ive wanted this gamemode since i first started playing this game, but all my hype and interest has died sadly.
Take this with a grain of salt? Nah. I’m taking this with the entire ocean. This was a horrible idea to begin with and I don’t think there’s anything u can do to fix this. Either survivors will be overpowered or killers will be overpowered. There’s always gonna be an imbalance with this game but holy fuck the imbalance on this “test trial” exceeded my expectations

Survivors suffering from exposed status effect while Billy uses his chainsaw is actually such a good buff. Too bad they made his chainsaw useless by decreasing the speed and removing its instadown 😑. Billy will be an awesome support teammate but actually playing him will be atrocious asf. If only they didn’t tweak his chainsaw, killers would’ve probably had a chance against the 8 survivors. It sucks how you’re going to have to rely on the nurse to get you the kills because the other 4 killers are trash, Billy could’ve been so good to play as but instead you’re just a crutch sidekick for the nurse because the chainsaw is now a worse and riskier M1
I am so hyped for cross progression. Id have all the killers and most of the survivors if that occured on the 22nd. And the OUTFITS I had on xbox. 2v8 ight, needs to be balanced tho.
2v8 already exists in Identity V, which is basically just dbd, except hooks exist and you need to fix 7 gens. Killers still win sometimes though, its rather even win rates in my experience.
I stopped playing after UE5 made it incompatible with my processor, but whennthis becomes permanent, I am going through the 10 clean boots needed for tech support to help me!
So was Nintendo stopping cross play originally or was it Sony? I find it hard to believe that it was Sony if Nintendo is the only one neutered. And if that was the case to begin with why even worry about the switch🤷🏻♂️
So maybe someone can explain to me about the whole thing with hillbilly at 9:00, What do they mean by expose if his chainsaw no longer instantly downs them? Like aura expose I'm assuming?
I just noticed something, they finally balanced nurse. All she needed was to be against 8 survs, some small buffs to recovery and a support extra killer to point in the direction of the survivors. It makes sense now.
Literally. All they had to do was multiply everything by 2. Instead they neuter 80% of killer freedom and add bullshit that makes the game worse while also favoring survivors.
unpopular opinion about that stream i waited something like 40 minute of them talking about lara croft and goofy ahh premium cosmetic, and then talk 2 vs 8 without even RELEASING IT on the day they promise us to have also they didn't talk about all the problem and glitch they have at there game the whole chat on dbd live we're just spamming about so many problem -remove skull merchant -fix all the glitches -fix swamp invincibility problem and for me i want to see them add something which could have been added 6 years ago which is to see other survivor perks before starting a game and full utopia of what they could do like the god they will never be to make us choose map that we don't like and we have less chance to have as long as nobody use the offering for a map

Well, skipping the initial gamemode cause i dont play any of those killers lol. Its bad enough learning a new killer with 1v4 but now i have to worry about 8 and feeling like shit trying not to be shit with a killer partner lol
