Poppy gets past the height problem in the same way Charlotta does in Granblue Versus. You make the weapon count as part of her hitbox.

Sett, Samira and Riven are probably mandatory in the initial roster, I mean, just look at them

Gwen would actually be an interesting addition as a high attack speed, combo fighter for Shadow Isles. If she gets her mist she can ignore zoners, and otherwise is all about getting her rapid snips to deal damage, so low normal damage, but have it add to a counter for dem serious snips. Her league kit is pretty much perfect for this.

Not having Sylas feels like a crime.

Look. If we’re gonna have unpopular characters too. I’m pulling for Tahm Kench. Big heavyweight fighter, long range normals with the tongue whips, ranged grappler moves a la Birdie from Street Fighter… And as a tag fighter, imagine tagging in an assist that instead of being an attack, eats your ally to protect them from an attack or give them a super armor shield for a bit? It writes itself.

Gnar would be such a cool inclusion. Imagine the mini with a smaller hit box but less damage, and you build up a rage meter into mega, which deals more damage but has a bigger hit box. 2 completely different fighters jammed into 1 and allows for skill expression as well.

My silly stupid opinion is that they should add Tristana and Teemo on top of each other (like 2 kids in a trenchcoat) to fix the hit box problem and to get 2 yordles in for the price of one.

Actually instead of a zoner I vote that Vex plays more like Zato, a difficult execution puppet character who can put you in The Blender if you don't respect their pressure. It would make sense considering both of them have extremely similar abilities

Sett, Jax, Alistar and Draven are shadow-confirmed by their lore. They all just met recently and are planning on getting into arenas together... So yeah, kinda hinting them taking part in project L

Dr. Mundo could be an amazing grappler. His passive could be implemented as hyperarmor for his attacks. I'd love to see him in this game.

Vex is a really good idea, but there's another way to have a tall yordle that you've overlooked: Veigar standing on the shoulders of two of his minions, wearing a long robe over them.

Aatrox and Pantheon: "Godly Rivals" expansion

Sett and Jack the Winner sound like a pretty good duo DLC down the line. It'd be criminal to exclude Sett from the fighting game and Jack's the best partner he could have that he actually has a connection to.

sett is the perfect fit for a fighting game, hes already in the soul fighter event for that reason, he punches people and suplexs people, and is a pitfighter and he is also pretty popular because handsome man big muscles so I think sett should absolutely be included in project L

I kinda like this roster, even if there is a little much Zaun for such a limited amount of characters. Also, did you draw those icons, they are amazing.

A fun combo could be Thresh and Mordekaiser. You see Thresh in Noxus in the Wild Rift trailer, so a potential plot for a story mode for this game could be about Thresh seeking out Mordekaiser.

I do hope Riot won’t do the obvious/popular right off the bat, would love to see champs that the community wouldn’t expect in a fighting game like Sona, Soraka. Just because they are known for only healing in League, doesn’t mean they are incapable to fight

If Kaisa would be part of Project L, I can see being a mix of Zoner and Rushdown like how she plays in league. Can poke from afar and then charge in with quick jabs and point-blank shots

The concept of vex as a puppet character didn’t even occur to me until I saw your thumbnail but I’d be SO down for that. Love the ideas presented here and agree with virtually all of em, I’m genuinely excited for this game and it may be one of the few fighting games that get added to the list of ones I like!

Plenty of people theorized Samira was made specifically *for* Project L, considering the time of her release fits neatly with when the game would've been in the early concept stage. I mean considering that she's a massive reference to Dante, and Dante has kinda become the unofficial mascot of MVC, it'd make a lot of sense if she was always planned to be in from the get-go

A solid roster for several future expansions! Can’t wait to see what the team at Project L has in store! I would love to see my boys Pyke or Rakan (duo with Xayah?), but I won’t be too surprised if neither are in the game for a long time

Rengar as a charge/rushdown character with leap based mixups is pretty much my dream.

there are definitely loads of characters deserving a slot in the game BUT your list was spot on. vex was my pick for a zoner too

They could do some weird stuff with girdles where they bring in yordle(teemo)+ yuumi, and then being stacked on top of each other could increase their hit box to be inline with other champs. Then they could include combos utilizing them as 2 characters in 1. Like ice climbers in smash. I could see that being an approach for some iconic yordles

all i want is pantheon and sett to be in project L they would be perfect

Vex could be similar to Guilty Gear's Zato=1. You would also be ticking "puppeteer" from the fighting game archetype list

Out of all the yordles Kled would likely be the most fitting candidate for the fighting game as they can just use the combined height of Kled riding on top of Skaarl for an approriately sized hitbox - dismounting could potentially serve as an opportunity cost for both Kled and the enemy, with dismounted Kled having a smaller shorter hitbox but it would be more susceptible to something like air juggling combos etc - maybe Kled could have a unique interaction through the assist mechanic where he can instead of a normal champion order Skaarl as his assist mechanic to for bonus effects and combos, or potentially to summon it back with his signature Courage-mechanic and recovering a portion of its health back

im a sej main and i would want nothing more than for sej to be included and for bristle to be his own playable character

I really think (and hope) akali will be on the roster because a fan made a complete akali model. After that the fan got hired by riot onto this game if I remember correctly

I loved the Idea of Morde being included like a Shao Kahn type character for the game, and if they ever do randomly add him to the base roster or in the arcade game mode I would so happy to see some soul king clashing between Morde and Viego

What do you mean by 10 slots? If this will be the live service game, the rooster will be increased like league with new champions every 3 months. That's like the point of the game to not make it Mortal Kombat 2.0 with every new part costing $70.

I want them to add Nunu and Willump, either as seperate characters or as some form of ice climbers because it would be so hilarious to have a literal child gremlin going around throwing snowballs and then a humunguous yeti monster that does massive close range meelee damage

I think I would add yordles as power-ups, like those in pokken tournament. Like if you picked Lulu she would give you her R to knock up the enemy, Veigar would just throw a Q, poppy could dash and knock back the enemy, heimer could spawn a flying turret or sth that deals bonus damage with the champions combos, teemo could spawn mushrooms on the map, etc

In terms of monster characters I feel like Zac or Tahm would be perfect. Tahm could be a big grappler that can eat an opponent and force a 1v1 for a while as his big super and Zac would be like a rush down Dhalsim that could even bring his revive passive in.

I feel like Lulu could be a good pick for bandle city. Support enchanter rep and she can make herself larger and stronger as part of her kit. Her whimsy magic, buffing and could also puppet Pix. It’d also be funny if she had a grab that acted as her polymorph skill instead

In the initial leak for the roster (which was forever ago now) it included Senna, and now i desperately want to watch her beat someone over the head with the relic cannon, please Riot

5:49 Rising thunder has a community edition. and it was re-released in a reddit post. The game is playable it's just not as popular as it once was when radiant was around.

I think Qiyana could make a intersting character in a fighting game. The element swaping as a stance swaper maybe? Im sure you mentioned him in other episode but Udyr would work too. XinZhao as an actual arena fighter is probably a perfect fit

There was an interview where they where talking about how they would implement yordles in the game i forgot what they said but i think they had some way to balance them being short

Give us Shaco, the moves are endless.. Both his clone and boxes can be used as puppets, you can play 2v1(with clone), tighten and control field with both puppets and clone, use boxes to travel between points on field, also attack, grapple, maybe fear (opposite to ahri charm), implement backstab passive, make him look like hes having fun and you having fun playing him. Trust me it would be quite the show

as much as i'd like a diverse cast i think there are some locks like caitlyn, vi, jayce, and eventually viktor who'll be in since the developers said the game is in the same universe as arcane.

Another yordle that could work would be Poppy, her hammer being a part of her hitbox, she could also be demacia and yordle rep. I have no idea what would be her pair .

Sett is literally made for this. Hard to belive he's an actual league of legends character and didn't wander off into league after they thought him up for project l

first DLC i wanna see is khazix vs rengar just like for wild rift their rivalry is way too iconic to miss on in a fighting game and just importing their kits from league gives them great tools for a fighting game. i theorycrafted how khazix could look like there already alongside this evoltion mechanic and im pretty proud of what ive craeted and sad it wont get to see the light od the day

I was playing this game at EVO but actually 7 has been confirmed. Ahri, Ekko, Darius, Yasuo, Jinx, Illaoi, and Katarina. I do like the duo aspect in it from each region. So probably next would be Garen and Lux from Demacia

If you put Kayn/Aatrox duo in you have the hilarious Darkin Combo and Kayn who covers Shurima Ionia and Noxus. Aatrox would probably be kind of similar to Ramlethal Valentine from Ggst and for Kayn you could put in his W, give him a move where he throws Rhaast as a boomerang or even give him a temporary boost to his abilities with his forms like as an Ultimate Move he either gets faster or does more dmg for a few seconds. I think these two would be a great addition to the Project L roster

Now that i think about Kled would be really cool in a fighting game. Bear trap as a pull/air grab, skarl dash as a gap closer and a way to go to the otherside of the opponent, and his gun could be good fkr combo's both as a the main fighter or the tag fighter.

Veigar (Arcade Boss too!), Sett, Mordekaiser, Graves, Garen, Quinn/Vayne, Akshan, and my yordle pick is Corqi! He could float at eye-level and still zone.

Honestly ryze could be pretty interesting. He already has the input feel of a fightinggame with the way you chain spells that could honestly feel amazing if expanded into a full fighting game character kit

The shovel wielding gigachad Yorick himself would make me very happy, but Riot can't even remember if he's from their franchise or not so I highly doubt he's getting added.

I kinda want to see Azir in the game tbh. I know people hate zoners but I actually think that he would be unique since he would have to input moves for both himself and his solider. A true puppeteer.

Yummi could probably be a pretty interesting character who has a pretty bottom of the line move set but her assists could be better and deal more damage than a normal character.

I would love to have the characters have moves different depending on who they play with, like thresh would jump in when swapping but would hook back the champions that are part of the ruination event when swapping
