I don't know why it worked out this way, but I spent hours trying to get the Data Source file to work, I kept on getting errors. I tried reading articles on the web to find out why I was getting the connection issues. Finally choose the 2019 Azure model rather than 2016 like you suggested and this worked. It works! Yes, this looks a lot like Power BI. All that matters is it now works.

Can you please share how to format amount field with comma seperator like Crores, Lakhs, Thousands as seen in your video at 1:32 min. Please clarify whether Perspective [2:38 min] has dependeny on SQL Server license edition or on Power BI license edition? This feature is greyed out for me while using Power BI Pro license with SQL Server Professional edition. We do not have and Enterprise edition of SQL Server.

As I mentioned the Dax playlist contains most used functions and you can go through it. This DAX functions you can use it in Power BI as well as SSAS Tabular Model

Power bi Premium can handle upto 100 GB model. So Go for only Power BI model if this suits you. For more information refer this page and decide accordingly powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/

Thank you for this video, but I don't understand something... Everything that was done in this video can be done directly in Power BI. ETL and modeling can be done in Power BI, and DAX measures can be created in Power BI. Why do all of this in Visual Studio instead of doing it directly in Power BI? Did I miss something?
