So I am new to the locing world. I have such soft hair. Started about 6 months and like you describe. Interlocking and so I seriously had to undo many. Plus in the middle they began to unlock. So with much new grow and was like very frustrating how beautiful ypur hair and how messy my hair is.my daughters hair is nice and she didnt need for me to braid and tie to wash

I think it has a lot to do with the texture, if you have a looser curl pattern, it can take a while and needs extra care to lock. Hang in there, it will get better.

Lovely hair as always😍😍 I also want to try the Chebe oil but hearing about your experience I'm not sure anymore. Thanks for sharing 😙

Your hair so nice Gifty, tips were really good too. As I had looked into chebe powder think I’ll give it a miss & they the rosemary oil instead. 👍🏾😊🇬🇧

Try it

I used to use Chebe-infused oil for detangling my loose natural hair so I get what you’re saying about softening hair.

Hi Gifty! I’m one month along (you were my inspiration) I’m loving it so far!! I was wondering, in the early days did you ‘braid and band’ for your washes? If not, did you experience and slippage or unravelling. Also have you ever experienced an itchy scalp and if so, how did you combat it? Thanks for sharing your journey with us.. you are my loc GOALS 😁
@fenetiwoman
@fenetiwoman 4 года назад
Aww, thank you I feel honoured 🙏No, I didn't braid and band but I advise others to do it, because it prevents bunching and unraveling. I never experienced that, except with one tiny loc around my edges. My hair is super tightly coupled, so I felt safe going without it. I had itchy scalp in the beginning, an apple cider vinegar rinse ended the nightmare... immediately! 😂 Hope this was helpful.

Love the video and I'm about to enter my loc journey. Do you recommend using a clarifying shampoo as well as a moisturizing one at the beginning stage?
@fenetiwoman
@fenetiwoman 4 года назад
Thank you. You only need a clarifying shampoo at the beginning.

Hey Gifty 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾 Your hair looks amazing. I have a question (is at the beginning of the video so please forgive me if you have already answered this.) What rotation do you use? And how do you deal with lint buildup?
@fenetiwoman
@fenetiwoman 4 года назад
Hi Lydia, I use the 4 point rotation. With lint, I just make sure I go by protocol 😂 satin lined bonnet or satin pillow case, a healthy towel, pick out loose lint before washing and being mindful of the clothes I chose. Hope this helps.

Do you apply hair wax

No, not at all.

As your locs continue to grow out what will you do with the unevenness of them. Will you eventually cut trim them to make them all one length or not?
@fenetiwoman
@fenetiwoman 4 года назад
Yes, I plan to cut them in a curve at a certain level. Thanks for stopping by.
