I’m 17 months 🔒. I kinda got discouraged around the 1yr mark and was actually thinking about cutting it but I decided against(thank goodness)it wasn’t until around 15 months that I looked back at my pics and realized dang I got hang time lol. I do see why everybody who is anybody that has locs, always says patience is key in this journey!
This is such an inspiration!!! I’m currently doing my own microlocs, thanks to your wonderful tutorials! I’d been considering it for a while and decided to make use of my time in lockdown! I was looking forward to my journey before but this video gives me so much hope and just makes me that much more excited!! Thank you x
Thank you for your kind words 🙏 this is definitely the best time for such a project, I wish you much success with it. You'll be amazed to see what your fingers can do 😊
FENETI I was actually going to pay £800 for sisterlocks 🙈 and then I found your channel 🙌🏾 I’m about halfway through my head and I definitely am amazed at what I’ve been capable of so far 😁 Thank you again!!!
I’ve heard that the danger of thin locs is that they can break off due to a weak base. But you have been able to sustain great growth and thickness in your micro locs. Kudos !!! 👍
Thank you Roz. I think the thin locs or thick locs discussion, all has to do with the maintenance. All locs will thrive if you maintain them correctly and you follow a healthy regimen.
I'm 2 months in my Loc journey. Your channel had so much information on it and I was inspired to install my locs myself after following you. I'm looking forward to the journey.
You are my inspiration. I had locs for 3yrs but I didn’t like thr thickness so I took them down 8yrs ago. I’ve been wanting dreads ever since but never was brave enough to take the plunge and like you I live in an area in the UK where getting sister locs is not possible. I watched your installation video 4 days ago and probably all your other videos on your channel😊. I tried interlocking, I did the first 8 at the back but they kept getting tangled in the next loc as my tool was too long so I decided to start with micro twist instead. My hair is quite similar in length and texture to your hair when you first started. Seeing you at 3yrs inspires me to just take each day as it comes and absolutely trust the process.
What a lovely message, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I absolutely love the idea that you took the chance to install them yourself. Glad my videos have been helpful to you. Thanks for all the love and support 🙏 wishing you all the best.
Oh my gosh! Your locs are beautiful 😍😍😍! They look so perfect ❤️! Can’t wait to start my locs next months- I’m getting the thicker size though🙏🏿! Nice progression, thanks for sharing 🤗!
I started my second loc journey with 162 two strand twist Sep 22, 2019. I hit the eight month mark this past Sunday. I document my journey with pictures once a month. I know for a fact that my pictures show the difference. I see fullness, not length, but I know the length will happen. For those who doubt that their hair is growing, IT IS growing. Just be patient. Your vlog is evident of that '-)
I'm coming 2 months locd. And you was one of the main channel that inspired & gave me courage to install my own..yours have come a long way. and look very beautiful. I hope mines turns out just as nice.
Yes my microlocs are growing but it is a very slow process which is teaching me patience keeping one hairstyle for 16 months is big for me because I used to braid my hair with extensions every couple of months
Your locs are so beautiful. I have microlocs as well and I will be at one week this coming Saturday. So far I am loving the Journey. My hair has changed already in just one week.
I love your hair and your videos have been a huge source of encouragement to me since I found you last year. I have microlocs which I started on a short tapered cut (maybe 3 inches on top and 1.5 inches on the back and sides). Currently, I’m 16months in and I love it even though sometimes it feels like I will have short hair forever. Best hair decision ever!
I actually still have microlocs. I just don't document it at the moment. But thanks a lot for stopping by, it always reminds me that people still care. Who knows, I may put them back.
The progression is amazing! You did such a good job and I've learned a lot, especially from watching your first year. Does your hair feel different (weight, texture etc) from before like when you were in the first or second year?
Thank you, glad my videos helped. My locs currently feel firm, not fluffy as they used to be (slightly rope like). The frizz is almost gone, they've merged into the locs. They are also much thicker, longer and voluminous than before. Hope this helps.
Beautiful locs 💝! I'm 5 months in with my newest set of locs. I've always hit a wall before seeing it through to 1 year in times past. Determined to keep this set.
Hi Feneti I've been following you like forever I feel like I know you😊, anyway I'm 9 mths in my second set of microlocs and loving the journey, just a quick question do you always use sulfate free shampoos? Thanks in advance. God bless❤️
Hi Janice, aww, thanks for letting me know, I really appreciate you. Glad you are on this journey as well. I use a clarifying shampoo from L'Oréal called Botanicals Ginger & Coriander. It doesn't say anything about sulfated, however, it is vegan and silicon free.
Hi Gifty, great video! And so encouraging to see your journey so far. I've two questions please: How did you combat the freeze? I just noticed mine has gotten worse over the months. And secondly, do you still use the dye you showed? Did you notice any change in your hair texture? Thanks
Thank you Katsu, glad my documentation helped. What helps to ease the frizz is to embrace shrinkage, meaning: help your locs to shrink. It's the fastest way to combat frizz. 1. Minimize styling your locs (braidout, twists). 2. Wash them with a clarifying shampoo every 7-10 days, do not condition them. 3. Avoid daily moisturizing and just use water/pure rose water or distilled water. 4. Oil just your scalp only when needed. All this will help the frizz to merge into the locs and settle. Hope this helps.
To your second question: yes, I still use the dye (mouse). My locs felt good and I did not need a conditioner on wash days. But what I noticed is that the colour does not hold long, eventhough its said to be permanent.
FENETI thanks for reply! Very helpful! As you know I’m in Switzerland, so what clarifying shampoo would you recommend please? I’m guessing if it’s found in Germany, then it shouldn’t be a problem to find here. Thanks 🙏
@@katsudigital7823 I get you. Will send you pictures of clarifying shampoos that I have used on IG. You can get them in Rossmann or dm, if you have those beauty supply shops.
I think you can achieve locs with any type of hair, you just need to find the best technique. The interlocking method may not work due to unraveling, but you could research other options like this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bWyR00UlDV0.html hope it helps
