Ingredients
Filling
4 medium size potatoes boiled peeled and roughly mashed this will make 2-1/2 cups of mashed potatoes
1/2 cup green peas boiled and drain, I am using frozen green peas
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tablespoon green chili
2 teaspoons coriander powder (dhania)
1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon mango powder (amchur)
1-1/4 teaspoons salt, adjust to taste
2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro (hara dhania)
Crest
1 cup all-purpose flour (plain flour or Maida)
2 tablespoons fine sooji (semolina flour)
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons oil
Approximately 1/3 cup cold water
Also needed
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour (Maida or plain flour)
1/4 cup water
Oil to fry

You can Bake them, I have tried before, you do have to brush the oil both sides but they are never the same as fried.

I will refry, you can heat them in oven but taste better when they are fried

Love your recipes, Aunty. It makes it so easy to follow. I can never follow directions the way my mom tells me over the phone because she doesn't have measurements and always goes by "andaaz". I don't have andaaz, so your videos are so very helpful.

after they are at room temprature, they don't have same crunch but they stll taste good. Coating with corn starch was about the same.

My aunt used to make it... but she used to use egg in it somewhere. I think she wud smear the bread with raw egg before levelling the potato mix on it.

Good morning Ms. Manjula & thank you for sharing a delicious-looking vegetarian appetizer. I think I will try preparing this dish for taking to work. We have a breakfast club, where employees alternately bring in food on Fridays. I last brought in Spiced-Apple Pancakes & Minced Italian Sausages; however, your dish sounds like something all (vegetarian or not) would enjoy. Happy Saturday to you!

Hi aunty, I tried this recipe today and it was awsome. Actually I used bread flour instead of maida in the dough, still the result was nice crispy crust outside. Thank you for the wonderful recipe.. :)

Mam I want to know how to remove sourness of tomato from Shahi paneer and chicken curry ...... When I make these things and want to make large curry and use good amount of tomato my solids become sour ....

The dough outside obviously get crunchy like Samosa but does the dough rolled inside get crunchy or remains somewhat soft?

Wow, what a great idea, innovative, mouth watering, I am sure this recipe is going to be awesome, but I,m going to add little carom seeds & pure ghee to the maida than fry it as shown in a normal oil, I think it will give a little great smell of pure ghee and unique taste of carom seeds. This looks awesome aunty. I tried this today and it came out really good.... But my question is why not flour mixture is little thick as in Samosa it's covered from all the sides and inside is the potato mixture.

What a great idea aunty! Quick question: will these become soggy when cool or will they have a crunch still? Will dipping in a cornstarch batter instead of the plain flour batter help retain crunch longer?
