Anyone need an idea for a Misogi? Try doing 1,000 pushups in a single morning. If you can go 20 you can do 1,000. It's just mental and takes time to build up to it. Series A ring is genius! Great episode guys. Love the energy!
i know a guy that was an Army Ranger 35 years ago. He starts his day with 1000 situps a day every day. He's done it for 30 years. Then he does whatever else workout he does. He's very successful in construction. He turns 60 this year and I guarantee you don't want to mess with him. I'd wager on him to win a fight with anyone, no matter their age.
Did this after listening to Goggins & Itzler book and messed up something in my back. Had pain for 2 years. So, definitely warm up before doing this, especially if you just woke up.
Shaan, I am turning 45 on Cinco de Mayo. I just started a business and I will do whatever one you choose with you. I live in the Bay Area. You just name the challenge and I am there. Ps I am 50 pounds overweight and am on a mission to take my body, mind and company to new heights. I am a 10xer in a business I have not heard you talk about.
I like how they originally named this episode something original about a Japanese technique. Nobody watched it, so they renamed it to fit their audience [ ] Admittedly it fooled me! 🙋♂️
Brandy Melville would have been a great business to look into. (they're the store that sells the college sweatshirts). They have done little to no marketing and reject the very PC nature of fashion, only selling very small sizes and having a very IDGAF attitude.
Luxury cocoon beds - tracks your sleep, temperature, black out shades, natural lighting comes on at set time in morning, sets to perfect temp for sleeping and then for waking…..kinda sick no….?
This episode reminded me of the Nathan For You episode where he creates a moving business that gets paid to help people move but all his “employees” are people that think they’re participating in an exercise program, so he gets paid by the people he’s moving for and his “employees” pay him to get in better shape. Absolutely genius business model
You're very close on the pronunciation! Misogi is three equal syllables. Mi (me) So (so) Gi (gi with a hard G). Each should have equal length and equal stress. You can read the Wikipedia entry if you'd like to know more about the Shinto tradition.
Ettore Bugatti is one of my favorite examples of dominating your customer. He was known to invite prospective customers to his château next door to the factory under the guides of showing them the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each of the cars he produces. However, his true motive was to determine whether the person was worthy of representing his brand. Famously, he outright refused to sell a car to King Zog of Albania, claiming that "the man's table manners are beyond belief". This extended beyond the initial sale, when a customer approached him to say his Bugatti Type 35 was difficult to start on cold mornings, Ettore responded: "Sir! If you can afford a Type 35, you can surely afford a heated garage!" Ettore's ruthless commitment to his brand's image established Bugatti as the epitome of automotive artistry and prestige.
Love the idea of misogi - purpose being living more full, but the idea that setting another goal for endurance seems to be about a black endless hole of more power struggling - that just does not seem to be the solution to me. I think running longer isnt the point. I think living more is the point. The search for a full life. It seems to be more of trying to fill the black hole of more otherwise - ending up being opposite of living more but just a higher goal of more endurance… if you get what I mean B
Imma be honest. I’m kinda losing steam on this podcast. It isn’t what it used to be a year ago. Not really focused on actionable business stuff anymore. More of a personality pod. Oh well
