The self gnerating tile is amazing and opens an array of possibilites on every scale even down to nano. Imagine a fabric that could be worn that transforms the static created between itself and the hair on our bodies. After that it converts it with the help of TLCLs (telecomanded liquid crystal cells patented by Tigran Galstian, in Québec) to nano/micro solar pannels to create even more energy. Free and easy phone charger at your disposal. Honnestly, all three materials shown here are amazing. Great video, I love seeing you explain, it makes it warmer; Keep these up

You really cannot say that the slabs generate 8 W. Is this the peak power of one slab, the average power of a person walking over a walkway of slabs or the impulse of a person applying their weight to a slab. If it's the impulse and we assume that a person takes 0.1 seconds from 0 pressure to 100% of their body-weight on one foot, every step and therefore less then every slab generates 0.8 J per step, which is a ridiculously small amount of energy. I honestly think that the only place this system is remotely viable would be extremely high traffic areas like a subway -station, which brings its own set of problems, like cleaning those rubber pads and maintenance. And many subways around the world does not allow for flammable materials underground, the smoke from burning rubber could quickly kill 100s in a confined space.

So the energy harvesting pavement produced around £2.6 worth of electricity. Sounds like a brilliant investment. Energy harvesting people is a bad idea we are very inefficient, the US army looked at it years ago to power devices but found that carrying more batteries was lighter!

The first light bulb was fairly useless too and I wouldn't imagine you would want to watch any of your favourite tv shows on an equivalent of the first TV too.

The electricity generating pavements sounds useless unless you're using it for something other than electricity generation. 20 kWh is nothing. That's like $3 worth of electricity. The only thing I can see that possibly being used for is data collection about foot traffic patterns or something like that.
@Roxor128
@Roxor128 6 лет назад
Yeah, I get 15 kWh per day out of my solar array (which is only a 3 kW one). Even from a traffic monitoring perspective, its effectiveness is doubtful. Why not just set up some laser tripwires or a couple of cameras for a computer to monitor?
@Zaminaki
@Zaminaki 4 года назад
I have to disagree on that! The first light bulb is far from what and how light is used now. The self-generating pavement opens a whole array of possibilities.

What they could do is install them on Motorways and freeways every few kms with a higher tension that should be able to pump up the juice potentially under railtracks or runways.

@@downundabrotha installing it on motoric vehicle area can build a strong electromagnetic field and could do harm to your vehicle and the road safety, need to be thought more carefully

The paving idea was my idea since I learned about energy transformation from one form to another and now it comes to reality!! Good thing!! No matter who made it possible, but it’s a reality and helping people!!

If they take energy from human footsteps, doesn't walking then require more work as it would on any soft surface?

The B1M I like renewables, so the tiles where intresting idea, think it would come with a lot of maintenance issues though. The self healing concrete was good too from a practical perspective.

Innovation in building methods need to be re/invented to better deal with weather threats. I wonder if inflatable shelters can be filled with something other than air. If the material the inflatable shelter is made maybe not from cheap plastic instead use a very strong material something like Kevlar. Or maybe Kevlar. Instead of filling the inflatable shelter with air fill it with injection insulation or cement or fill it with something i have not thought of to make a temporary shelter technology into a permanent construction method. I do not have the resources to do anything to protect my ideas so i post my ideas for public view. I am relying on some luck and honestly.

2:55 TLDR: the fourth dimension is time. that product is neat, but it is not 4d, the same way my dinner was not 4d now that its being digested into feces. time had an effect on both, why use a buzzword for one and not the other? ("Patent Pending: 4d sewage. it reacts to heat, pressure AND time by emitting sulfur, methane and CO2 and many other resources one can utilize in the field & on site! invest now!") the sales method here bears resemblance to the methods employed by "As Seen On TV" products: make an exciting claim that purposefully misrepresents the product and reap the rewards the rubes lay at your feet. its not illegal, but its shady and lazy

Why the hell are we not putting kinetic pavement on the roads?
@samuelmendoza9356

plus it could be cheaper to set up a power plant. And for those that is more on operating and mainetance cost than fuel, solar and wind might ended up being cheaper. I can only see its practical use on as shown in the vid, on events where foot traffic is great, and the client may not care much on its maintenance. Really, the kinetic paving occupies a very niche application. As for cars, can you imagine the maintenance just to make sure it generates energy properly? It would probably result in more frequent gridlocks due to replacing them, even if its the prefab road panels which is currently in plastic.
