If you enjoyed this you might like to watch this one too where I share how to grow Tromboncino and how to cook with them! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kn7Ko3u2eXg.html
I enjoy your channel, especially the cooking and preserving segments. It’s great to see what someone else does with the surplus, of the garden and orchard.
Three great ideas, and one that I'd like to add is pickled chillies. They are great in a mixed pickle, especially with red onion, and great by themself too, as long as you spice the pickling liquor properly.
I keep my dehydrator outside when drying spicy/smelly foods. Making ristras with my peppers is a great way to dry them and provide decor I can eat. They are beautiful hanging next to doors because I live in the American South West. If you want to keep squirrels away from your bird feeder add extra hot chili flakes with the seeds and you don't have to worry about squirrels getting uppity. Birds are immune to the heat.
I was just thinking about your videos! Also I have that same pair of secateurs, wouldn't have thought they sell the same on literally opposite parts of the world. I sadly have no exciting chili recipes to share, I either store mine dried whole or as fine flakes/coarse powder. Lovely video, cheers from Germany
We enjoy a good, home made sambal. A friend from Kupang once gave us a sambal made with dried anchovies, heaps of lime skin, loads of birdseye chilly and lemon basil. I put on everything. I loved it.
Thank you for the new recipes! 😂 In the past I've only made salsa. 😅 I also grow all my pepper's in 5 gal food grade buckets (bells, hot, etc) they do very well. 😮 Plus no transplanting nessasary. 😊 I always enjoy your show. ❤ Hi, from Va USA. 🎉
Such great ideas for pepper use. Sadly the deer ate all my pepper plants this year (and last year too). I did put netting over them but the deer just tore it all away and used the garden as a buffet.
I love fresh bird eyes chilli in stir-fried veges. Make num pla prik dipping sauce... Add fresh chilli in my Summer rolls...serve with blended chilli garlic ginger dipping sauce... Add whole bird eyes chilli in beef green curry.. Yummm
Quick tip for overwintering: blast all of the old soil off the roots and wash them in lightly soapy water. This will kill al the nasties like fungus gnats etc.
Showed the last vid to my workmates and my kids. The kids are like ,can you grow the reaper one dad but all i could find were the elephant repelling one I think these will be dangerously hot enough for my wee newbees
Mate, check out where pepper spray is on the scoville scale, and then where the Reaper is.. Even a Habanero straight up is reallly spicy if you have no experience
Dry, then grind into almost powder. Then you can put in an old salt shaker! You can make it as hot as you want by adding different types of peppers. When your not allowed to add anything when cooking, you can shake it on!
I did some Trinidad Moruga Scorpions last year, dried them and they turned out about fingernail size. When I do a winter stew, I crush half one into the stew... people immediately look at me wondering how bad it will get. 😂😂
Watching you handle all the chillies with barehand makes me cringe 😃and also hoped no accidents like touching your eyes accidentally. Really nice recipes as always. Thanks
Use a more natural oil than canola. Something like olive oil. Also use honey instead of sugar. At least that’s what I do and it’s amazing. (Also better for your health).
