As a keen gardener I'll give anything a go and I especially love growing exotic fruiting plants and unusual edible plants. I often experiment with growing, so I'll share with you my successes and failures so hopefully you'll learn from them and have a go yourself! I live on a 2 acre piece of land here in New Zealand and I hope you enjoy coming along on the journey of turning a grass paddock into and abundant, edible paradise! :)
"Only 1/10 thousand will have good fruits" Guess who probably said that? My bet is the avocado cartel in Mexico that don't want to lose their control over it. Its a lot of money. My parents never heard of this so they casually planted 3 types of avocados on our backyard and they all tasted good. I actually never seen an avocado tree around where I lived (there were several because the weather was really good) that tasted bad. A lot of 1 in ten thousands right.
《He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Shaper. His are the Most Beautiful Names. His purity is proclaimed by all that is in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise》 (Surah Al-Hashr : 24)
Thanks for the update I have also propogated from seed with the toothpick water method. Three years in the tree is around five metres tall and healthy. Now awaiting fruit
If you own a home in the appropriate climate and love avocados you should plant a tree. My family in Mexico has a few in their garden. Nothing like having fresh vegetables and fruits everyday
Me and my family, we have over 10 avocado and germinating some more from seed we have 5 diferent types of avocados and thats just a fraction of all the fruit trees we have. My favorite are the mangos they amezing trees and awesome fruits, we have 4 difirent types😅
That is another way to use sunflower stems depending on your variety. If they are wide enough you can actually make a flour substitute out of the inside of the sunflower stem
to think that i watched your videos when u were just a young kid...QUESTION? How the avocado trees hold when cold temps show up? how low temperatures can they get.
Wow, I can’t believe what I just found out! I have been really enjoying your channel and have been considering travelling to New Zealand. However, I just found out that New Zealand has a strict no disabled persons immigration policy. Absolutely disgusting! 😡
I live in the growing zone 8 in America, we will have winters where the lows will get down into the 20's for a couple nights a year but for the most part that is it. Rarely ever have it where there is a week at or below freezing. Would an avocado tree survive planted here? I've got two in a planter currently and both are about 3 feet tall.
Try growing a Mexican type avocado, like a Mexicola, del rio, Mexicola grande. Just search “Mexican type avocado” hass is a breed of Mexican and Guatemalan landraces. Might make it might not depending on the genetics if you use hass seeds.
Commercial avocado growers don't want you to grow your own. There are factors involved in growing avocados, good weather, warmth, enough water etc. I have a couple growing that I need to plant, one was from the best avocado I have ever tasted, and the other was a freestone, you could hear the seed ''rattling'' (It's not rattling, the flesh is too soft for that, but it was rolling around quite free in the fruit), that fruit also tasted good, and I just wondered if it might grow true to type, it would certainly make eating them easier :p
Wow, what a beatiful tree. Me and my girlfriend used a toothpick method on one of our pits and now the avocado tree is around 1 meter tall and planted in a big like 40L jug inside our apartment. We are from Czech republic, which is located in the hearth of Europe and our tree was really strugling through the winter months to the point I almost had no hopes for it to come back. As now it grew a few, yet beatiful leaves on top and we are happy again :D But to my point, is there anyone who tried growing an avocado outside in such a climate? As me and my gf graduate, we will most likely move to a house with a garden and after seeing this video, Im really thinking about planting it outside, but seeing it how it struggled during the winter inside an apartment really got me thinking if its going to make it. Thanks to anyone who will take its time to respond or give us any advice whatsoever <3
I worked on an avo orchard last year and all the little seedlings grew best closest to the trunk sheltered so that is where I have kept some, sheltered and now plan to re pot and give away to my family now I’ve seen this video thanks!
