Two Super cool buggies! The predator with its design is awesome for sure but its the Mini Mustang that gets me excited! Such a classic! I remember seeing one for the first time back in the day when our race club visited another and there was a Mini Mustang at that club and because our club was pretty much all tamiya's this Mustang was really something different and l remember it being bloody quick too! Been a fan ever since!
Man I’m with you 100% on the mini mustang - I’m sure glad I didn’t get one of them in the 80s I would have completely destroyed the thing trying to put it together 😄
Wow! Double horizontal rear shocks! You continue to amaze me Wade, it’s my first time seeing this design! Congrats for restoring that PB mini mustang, It looks fantastic even with the clear bodyshell. Speaking of the hidden front shocks design, I came across a Top Cat at a local auction site recently, its metal chassis kind of resembles your Predator’s chassis, clean looking one-piece design except for the “missing” center shaft since the Top Cat is 2WD. From your video, your predator seems to have high-end plastic, the type that’s used by Mikado RC helicopters which are made in Germany. Hope to see a running video of it before it goes on Shelf-duty. :)
Yeah T that lay down front shock config has come & gone over the years - I think it looks cool but some folks seem to be bothered by it 🤷♂️ The front diff in the predator is totally hosed - the plastic ring gear melted - I was putting a motor in it this morning when I noticed something didn’t seem quite right with it 😆
