Bro your locs are INSANE. I literally want the exact set of locs you have brother. I'm 3 1/2 months in and can't wait till I get some serious hang time. keep up the good work man 🔥🔥
Time flies It took 8 months for me to loc, the best way to go about your journey is to not compare your locs to someone else’s. Yours will differ and not look the same, everyone hair does it’s own thing differently. Come to terms with that bro as your journey goes on otherwise you’ll be disappointed
😆 as a married man, who loves his wife, I always hated the tern “wife beater” too. Tank Top works but I’ve heard them called, and have adopted, the term “A-Frame” shirts. TP, love the vids still so keep ‘em coming! Also, around 3:01 I personally love mine more all over the place like your shot on the left, but I get wanting to look more put together too.
I’m glad you mentioned depending on the stages will determine the firmness. I’m going on 2 years and I still use the soft brush. It has changed the game in my loc journey 💪🏽
I like the way the brush lays the locs down.. however.. for me, i want my locs as disrespectfully frizzy as possible lol but i do like the brush to maintain lint.. i might have to try that
Been locced 16 months and still got that one bad girl that wants to curl out and away from my head right on my hairline! I keep it tucked behind my ear for now, but sometimes she works her way out trying to hi five everyone i pass!
@@TPlocks the soft brush works just like you said,no real action,I have a soft and a hard brush,I think the hard one will mess it up so, I'll have to get an in-between brush soon. The soft brush helps still but not as much as it should. Your hair be dope as ..
Great video TP! I love the fact you mentioned towards the end of the video to not brush your locs until they are mostly mature. Because I have tried to brush my locs before when I was maybe 8 or 9 months locd and…it just didn’t go well. Maybe if I had a video like this during that time I would’ve been a lot better off lol. Now that I will be one year locd on Sunday, I will definitely implement loc brushing into my routine going into my second year when they’re more mature. Again, thanks for the fire content 🔥
This is such high praise! Especially in that last trimester! I’m glad I could help your journey in postpartum! Congratulations on your new journey and most importantly that new baby! 😁🥰
It’s crazy because I heard you mention it in another video so I tried it, im 8 month into my journey and they’re on the mature side so brushing has become my main method of controlling frizz
TP, thank you so much for such informative videos! My husband has been wanting to loc his hair for such a long time now. He finally got his starter locs yesterday, and I am binge watching all your videos and have learned so much! With all your advice I am feeling so confident that I will be able to help him during his journey. Thank you!
Your humility, sense of humor, spirit of God is on Just amazing video and RU-vid Chanel, I appreciate what you doing for our community. You have helped me so much and calmed my nerves 😂😂 during the process
Your locs are looking so gooooodddd. I been brushing my locs. With my son's baby's brush lmao don't judge me 🤣 but it makes my hair feel so soft afterwards. Hope family is well
All I do is tie my locs with a durag at night and oil it when it itches, I feel if you do that you won’t have to brush it! But idk I might try this when my locs grow longer than my shoulders
what a banger tip! as much as i like volume on top, its nice when the sides lay flat to me. and bruh idk what it is but i feel like after 1 year my dreads are already maturing i always kept up the crochet hooking, so not that much length+ but definitely worth it there's less and less frizz even after washing
I am so not about having lint in my dreads, so after I brush and wash and retwist it, I wear a dread sock all the time, even at work; I only take it off for a few hours a day to let my hair breathe a little
New subbie here! 👋🏾 Recently been introduced to loc brushing and was curious about the benefits and this video was helpful! I’m a year and some change into medium microlocs and the frizz can @ times be annoying. I will recommend your channel to my son as he is about to begin his loc journey as well. 😊
Wow you’re beautiful! But anyway I’ve been considering brushing my locs for a while because I got some aloe stuck in my hair that I’d like to try and loosen out. But seeing the difference in this video was super helpful in encouraging me to brush my locs for sure
I don’t brush mine but now that my locs have matured more I done run my fingers through them to try and separate an potential congos P.S I have nothing against Congos I just don’t got many locs so I’m trynna keep them all
Wish I did that, I’m stuck with all these triple and double headed Congo’s now 😂😂 after I reach a certain length I’m starting a new set, full head. If they Congo up with a full head I don’t think I’ll mind much.
@@TPlocks I'll have to get a soft bristle one then. Idk my hair is really soft 😅 I don't even do the finger comb thing either I usually just shake and go after I take my durag off
Best locs ive seen by far. Glad i subscribed, im new to this and i was JUST looking for a way to keep my locs down. Thanks for this! Also if you get your locs braided, do you know how to get them to lay back straight again? I did barrel rolls and took them out after 2 weeks and thw bottom of my locs are a bit curled and wont lay down lol
I always have to wash or use rose water and a brush to get them decurled. Definitely not easy though. 😅 I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel and trusted me enough to sub! 🙏🏾
@@TPlocks yeah ive been at war trying to get them down lol. Thanks for the tips brother and no problem, the sub was DEFINITELY worth it, happy to support 🙏🏾!
Thanks so much, i appreciate so much all the information, this is Raim from Spain... I will get soon my locs... I really like yours, do i have to tell you that i really like how your hair look right after you take out the ponytail. Also i like when u brush, dont missunderstand me...., i understand is healthy to brush, do.... Thanks again
I don’t recommend anyone in the baby phase to use this at all! Definitely something for the mature locs though. It’s just a tooth to assist grooming. It shouldn’t be apart of the loc forming process at all.
hey tp i wanted to ask you what do you think is better a bonnet or durag. I used to wear a durag at night to protect my dreads but i noticed that using a durag made my dreads appear short and look flat but when i use a bonnet it keeps my natural length wich is at my eyebrows and keeps them looking thick.
For me I use both. I like the benefits of the durag for my hairline and taper with my hightop but I like the limited tension on my head from the bonnet. It’s tough to choose. I don’t tend to worry much about my length anymore, but I guess if we’re talking what’s best for hair I might have to say bonnet. The hair doesn’t get fully covered in the durag at all. My hair won’t fit. The bonnet give you full coverage!
I’m still tryna work on keeping my hands out my head I’ve never had long hair I’m like a year and 6 months in and I’m enjoying my journey I’m even trying to learn how to retwist my own hair. Parting is really hard lmao
I find it's easier to have jus a part down the middle, trying to worry about boxing your shit when you doing it yourself is annoying, I just make sure none are combined Fuck sections
so im bout 3 months into my loc journey & ive realized that the locs in the front & top aren't locking as fast as the ones on the back of my head. I started with two strand & my hair is about down to my nose & some are somewhat loose in the middle of the twist. Is there a way to help progress my locs more evenly or does it just take more time for them to mature depending on the location of them?
Are your locs fully mature? If so, and you're using a soft-medium brush. You'll be fine! If you've still got budding and your locs are forming I wouldn't recommend using.
It's been a year and some change and man I love my locs. I remember saying i wanted my locs to look like a combination of Isaiah rashad, playboi carti and lil uzi but I never really expected it to look like that fr like my hair looks cold ash rn like If somebody cut even one loc off my head I'd have to commit a felony that's how much I love my head rn
