Nice info on the 9 on the spot break! It's in season right now with all the tourneys ;) You should do a breaking series! 9 ball, 1 on the spot, template, no template, 10 ball and 8 ball variants. If I had to guess, most of your viewers are amateurs and league players that play most 9 ball games 1 on the spot with a triangle rack OR 8 ball on a barbox (at least in the USA). Any tips for those players on those breaks/table conditions? As usual, your content is practical and informative. Thanks!
So to my understanding the 9 being racked on the spot was supposed to reduce the chances of those 2 balls going in. So it really doesnt do much at all. Lol.
I don't like the kitchen rule... It was invented to avoid softbreaks. But when you break like hulk and get unfortunate with the balls, it shouldn't be a foul break in my opinion. Btw a nice video as always. My wife always laughs when I lip sync your intro😂😂
Thanks for the video. I try to do this break shot. Thoudands of times ... every day ... i m frustrated .... no succes There is something essencial, something super important, the STROKE You need a special STROKE something different to "push" the WING-BALL towards the pocket ... In my oppinion after hundreds hours trying to produce consistenlly this special STROKE, ... something that you dont explain in your video. Please i need help ... some advices for that kind of special stroke ??? THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Niels you are my top three favorite players of all time along with reyes and svb. The reason for that is two fold - a) you are an absolutely phenomenal player but b) the way you are giving back to the pool community with these amazing videos that are good in communication, detail, and precision is quite fabulous. I am a huge fan now!

i'm from VietNam. can't wait lession " 1 ball On the Spot - No break box - 3 point rule" and "How to break 10 ball - Pop the cue ball" Good luck in US Open Mr. Terminator !
Since I'm not a native English speaker, the only thing I didn't understand, in the various breaks did you always hit the cue ball in the center? Thanks for a reply
Will these breaks work the same on my 7 foot Diamond table with 860 Simonis cloth, Aramith balls and 1 ball on the spot? Or what differences/ adjustments are there?
Hands down, you have the best informational videos out right now. Your drills are top notch and very humbling, your info and directions given are clear and concise, and above all, the stuff you do, just makes sense and greatly helps my game. I have increased immensely since I have started watching your stuff. You are one of my favorite players to watch. Thanks for making the pool realm so much better
Great video as usual. Do u have a video on equipment? Tip brands, hardness, etc. I currently use a Clear black medium by Kamui. I use to use Moori. I have also used How and Zan but just would like to hear your advice. Thanks for the informative vids.
Great job champ. Thank you very much!!! My favorite break is the second. I think that it gives me the shot on the oneball most of the times and it is very important!!! One question if you may...How do you pronounce your name phoneticly? FA-IEN or FE-IEN? Greetings from Greece!!! Keep up the good job!!!
Thanks for the tips, was hoping you would give a bit more info on the power break technique as well, i slowed the video down and it looks like you stand up before shooting, can you maybe give few tips on increasing the break power with keeping accuracy reasonable enough? Thanks
Never have played from 9-ball on the spot, that could be a regional thing in the US. All that I have played has been head-ball on the spot, so everything is different. Good stuff though.
Hello Niels, great video again :) Thanx for sharing your knowledge, it's super for us amateurs ;) Got a question on this one: if in a game you are struggling with your break, do you keep searching your own solutions (by changing this or that like you explain here), or are you maybe tempted to (try to) copy your opponents break? Or is that a bad idea?
Ok so just got down watching numerous match highlights from the recent 2024 premier tourney. 9 ball on the spot & breaking inside the box. Everyone and I mean everyone is breaking too left ish or top right ish and all using the cut break with cue to side rail. That apparently must be the best odds. Oh and they are doing alternate break. I been playing 9 on spot and doing the cut break in the box. It’s obvious less balls go in on the break so less runouts a plus alternate break stopping multiple runouts. Back and forth action and only race to 5. Makes sense on several reasons why they have implemented these new rules & format. Long gone are the days of running 3, 4, 5+ racks in a row from the old school 9 ball days. Cheers.
Hey Niels i have a question: if you struggle with your break in a game, do you search your own solutions (by changing this or that) or are you (sometimes/often) tempted to (try to) copy or opponents break?
Yo Olivier! If your break isn’t doing it for you and you see he has success, you can switch sides on your own break or if his break is in your Arsenal then copy paste his or hers 👍🏼🔥💪🏼😄
Thank you Nils :-)) I tryed 3h Breaks before i saw that video an was exactly on the Point with the Question: What can i change for more Goodness ? The Answer is now: 1. One more Tip down on the Cueball and 2. Move the Cueball back to the Rail (Just for my self Hit). All other Factors was same safe ;-) Greetings from Berlin
Good video. In your opinion when breaking from the box with the 9 on the spot do you think it’s a better strategy to do the cut break & always try to make the 1 ball in the side or to break to get position on the 1 ball down table? Thanks
in the break at 6:13, you didn't need to worry about the 3 ball rule because you made 3 on the break, Neils -- great stuff, Thank You for fully describing these configurations of the cut break!
Yes exactly. That was a mistake. The balls flew in so fast I was confused and thought in my mind I made 2 while even saying 3 😂🤷♂️ therefore I felt I got away with it when the 6 just touched the line
I always love to see the Vintage Django Bustamante, Antonio Gabica, Rodolfo Luat, Johny Archer, Thorsten Hohmann, Explosive breaks. Somewhere like 32mph breaks.
Yeah it's pretty cool!! I did some analyzing of the TOP 4 Breaks From The US OPEN 9-Ball 2021 💪 Feel free to check it out right here, Rafael: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YPuhEnBQfC4.html
Where do you aim the 1 for the second break? It looks like you aim that the one comes between the corner pocket and the 1 or 2 diamond on the short rail
Another excellent video! One thing that I always wanted to understand was the way that some pro players break... where they aim very low on the cue ball. Perhaps you could shed some light on that topic too?
That's totally correct. Because the body raises up, for some too much, then they compensate with aiming lower to prevent the cue ball from getting topspin.
Yo Niels Update The power draw back to the corner pocket and the side to side yo yo drill have helped my game tremendously with my stroke action and cue ball positioning My game has gotten so much better over night that I am shaking my head how easy I am running tables now !!!!!! Can’t thank you enough for you help with your videos !!!!!! Now I will practice this 9 ball break and I will be unstoppable hahaha Take care Niels and best of luck in all your tournament play !!!!!! Cheers from Bangkok Thailand
Niels, as always, Great Instruction and explanation. I'm curious, you mention the cloth on your table as being worn. On the video it looks brand new, how often do you install new cloth on your table?
Haha I clean it before the video so it still Looks good. I change about once per year on average cause I’m Also traveling so acutely every 6-8 months of play
Excellent video, Niels! I really enjoy watching your videos. I recently subscribed to your channel and have learned a lot already. I have always wondered how these 9-ball break shots were hit. Thanks for sharing this valuable information. Where is the cue ball placed? It looks like it’s on the second diamond and about a ball and a half away from the cushion. Is this correct? Thanks!
Another question here buddy. You're breaking great but I think it has to do with it being your own table. I can imagine you going to the next tournament and doing exactly that but it never works that way right? Lets assume that is the case and your break in the tournament is completely different. What would you do then? Thats the real question. (even with changing sides, it still is far different results from what you see in your own table) -- cause that happened to me.
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Maaaan...!!! This is working like a dream. I'm potting 1 or 2 on average with so few dry breaks now. So simple to follow and I've been switching up the sides of the table to great effect. CHEERS...!!
Another great video. I will definitely be trying out these methods. One thing I need to obtain is a consistent break whereas at this moment, it's hit and miss.
