Excellent video. The importance of a proper cycle is so relevant but most of us are way too inpatient. Get the cycle completed guys. This video is proof of why selecting a reliable soil and a proper cycle is worth the wait. Thank you Shrimp Mania for another amazing video

You shouldnt set up a fish tank while you are an inpatient. Hopsital Staff would be impatient with the extra hassle.

I know but couldnt he just put some water from the other tanks or some dirt so that beneficial bacteria easily start to produce. If you want start from scratch go on but its not efficient to wait for 3 months for the cycle.
@gbeeshrimp
@gbeeshrimp 7 месяцев назад
@berketaskran8329 water won't contain any beneficial bacteria, soil, or other surfaces will, but then you also risk other potential pathogens from the other tank. A clean start is sometimes more beneficial, simply because you start with a blank canvas.

As a experienced shrimp breeder i can honnestly say thet breed themselfs. I had falen behind maintaining my planted shrimp tank for like a year. When i finally got to the task at hand the tank could not be opened because the plants grew arround the lighting. The shrimp were doing great though, the population was about 500 and many pregnant and baby shrimp were just chilling eating only algae and rotting plants.

Excellent video. I returned to ornamental fish after 20 years. How things got better. I live in Brazil and my aquarium gets sunlight for part of the day, so I always have algae. I tried several deep clean fish until I met the neocaridina shrimp. I was beaten too much with the correct mineralization, and now I even donate the excess of animals. A hug to everyone.👍👍👍

Moss will grow nicely if you use good aqua soil rich in minerals. The soil will slowly release some minerals and fertilizers into the water making the moss grow nice and without bad algae. So, if you want your plants to grow healthy and green invest in good aqua soil. You might try fertilizers but it's easy to screw it up and end up with a tank full of algae instead.

Hi there, thx for video. I love when you show more akvariums with another setup (soil). I have one solution for you algea and high level of amonia. You are using only slow growing plants. When you wish to have amonium level down faster, use faster growing plants (Limnophila sessiliflora is a ideal for example). You can just remove them later, but for start they are very helpfull. Only slow growing are not ideal for starting, becouse they dont take so many amonium from watter like faster growing. Maybe this could help you start faster. Thanks for video again and i wish good health for you and your fishs and shrimps . P.S.: my chrimps love floating plants (they help with amonium level too), maybe you should add some. But its only on your opinion.

such a great video by the master mosquito breeder! jk, i was wondering how those red worms got introduced into a new aquarium. great video on setup and the importance of a proper cycle. Glad to see 4 berried golden galaxy shrimp, can't wait to see that tank full of babies. I was re-watching one of your videos testing easter shrimp soil, too bad it didn't work out. I'll be using ada in my new tanks. with that said, i placed 2 tanks into an area, 1 empty one filled and one more on the side empty. My wife just said i can have another shrimp rack, so it'll be 4x4x3 tanks 3 rows. I met a tw breeder locally that uses the thin soil technique. I'm going to give that nico, soil in a bag a try combined with a thin layer, just for fun. Can't wait to the next updates!

Those three dots on the end of the coconut are soft. An ice pick or 10p nail can be poked in easily. Makes for cleaner water. Currently just finished the cycle in a 5 gallon on my desk. Fishless cycle with household ammonia. Never got anything green to grow, just brown diatoms (I assume). Fluval shrimp soil. Heading to the LFS for some greenery. Too bad all they have are neocaradina.

@funkyimran1
@funkyimran1 7 месяцев назад
There is nothing as such as a breeding tank when it comes to shrimps. what you need is mainly 5/6 pairs, good water quality, big sponge filter, drift wood and some or lots of "floating" plants (easy maintenance & shrimps do like it). Have bred "God knows how many". My shrimps have bred in same breed tank, also in a community tank with angels, guppies, betta, tetras, corydoras and such. They will breed if the quality, PH and temperature of the water remains stable through time and should have hiding places where other fishes or homo sapiens wouldn't be bothering. You might not be able to breed shrimp in a small cubicle or a bare bottom tank. Shrimps do "rarely" at times kill and eat other shrimps.

I used to toss all my painted fire culls in my display tank that was super heavily planted and they made their own colony in the plants and I’m sure angels e joyed a few snacks.. I have soft water here, so I always used inert substrate and mineralized the rodi water how I wanted.. not needed so much for cherries, but I did it anyway.

yes you can but the reason why it takes so long is because I used ada Amazonia gold soil and it leaching ammonia for 6-7 weeks. If I using soil without ammonia it takes only 4 weeks to cycle the tank

You had cycled tanks prior to setting up your new tanks, why didnt you jump start your cycle with cycled media from the old tanks? Would have saved 10 weeks. Or did you want to use the ammonia to grow bio film and algea? Thats the only reason to wait that i could think of, either way nice shrimps
