To give a brief summary of AurebeshX's matches from April... vs Kadenus,: the games are a tie regardless of which player goes first (AurebeshX just plays no cards so The Rack will never do any damage) vs platform: AurebeshX wins both games because Phylactery Lich can't get the kill quick enough. Phylactery Lich gets turned into an Elk by Oko. Oko then has enough time to make a food and turn it into an elk (which can block the opponent's elk), which then leads to an eventually win by elk overrun vs Tarvis: Sand Silos lets AurebeshX bank extra mana to pay for the Chancellor of the Annex tax. Tarvis cannot get the kill fast enough, and Oko can create foods to turn into elks to defend himself and that leads to an eventual win.
that's part of why i am skeptical of 3 card blind and why i'm not sure i want to purchase cardage that would be considered "top tier" though the OKO situation looks very affordable, i would potentially make use of the khalni land instead of the treetop village for the 0/1 plant token generation. Then if you retain either 0/1 plant token you have something you can turn into a 3/3 elk after turning your opponents thing into a 3/3 elk. Or so would be my line of thought and perhaps i'm not the first one to think of such.
Just as a clarification, 3 Card Blind is a theory crafting format that is not played with paper cards, so you do not need to purchase or own any cards. To your other point though, I think Khali Garden would have been a much better choice than Treetop Village
A bit late to reply, but treetop village does make it stronger against hand attack, leaving you with a threat if your opponent plays annointed peacekeeper, thoughtseize, curse of silence, phyrexian revoker/pithing needle, etc. If you're going to play khalni garden it might even be better to just play a forest since it lets you get oko out a turn quicker
Not quite. Players play against each other player in their pod twice, once where they are on the play and once where they are on the draw. Your score during the tournament is the average performance across all of your games. There will absolutely be some games where you win on the play and lose on the draw, but your performance is measured as an aggregation of all of your games, not just a match against a single opponent.
