This is super cool and tbh, I think you could’ve made more than $250 on these projects. They look great!

love those. been looking for something similar to do an outside wall panel... i think this would work 🙂 now to find some aluminium and a cnc cutter

@@agorawoodcnc8701 A great recommendation. Only single flute end mills have the chip clearance needed for high-speed machining of aluminum without using coolant, and coolant isn't a practical option on CNC routers designed for milling wood.

Best tool to cut aluminum Composite Panel sheet is 2 flute straight bit in single pass
@agorawoodcnc8701
@agorawoodcnc8701 9 месяцев назад
I used to do one pass, but it was tough on the bit - but the cut was surely very clean and neat that way! Thank you for the advice. I will NEVER use a corn bit on these sheets EVER again XD
@gaiustacitus4242
@gaiustacitus4242 7 месяцев назад
@@agorawoodcnc8701 What you refer to as a "corn bit" is a roughing end mill. Its use is intended to leave 0.010" of excess material to be removed with a finishing end mill.

Hi! I got them from a local place called Maizey Plastics. But you can also get it on Amazon! Type in anything in the line of - Aluminium Composite Sheet Brushed. 👍 Let me know if you don't find anything, then I will forward a link!

hello, which type of aluminum is this? im trying to contour cut 1050 aluminum and its really weird, at first i used 6mm 2flutes but i was getting welds on the bit, then went to 1 flute since i cant really go faster than 1000mm/min because of many curves and i get jitter. But this way i dont get the mirror finish i used to get with 2F. Also a cheap air-mist addon could help you a lot even if you only use the air to sent chips away. what is your feed/speed for this tiny bit? :D I think you are the first person i see going with conventional cut instead of climb.

Hello there! Thank you for the comment 😃. I use I-Bond Aluminium Composite Sheets. It is 3mm thick, consisting of 2x 0.5mm Aluminium sheets sandwiching a 2mm polyethylene core. So, it is not pure Aluminium. It is VERY soft to cut. I've tried and successfully managed to cut this particular material in just one pass (BUT, it is harmful to your bit). But, this illustrates just how soft and easy-to-cut this material actually is. Solid Aluminium will definitely be a different game. I normally use 2-3mm bits to cut this material, with a feed rate of about 1000mm/m. (P.S. I think I do a lot of things different from everyone else, because I've never learned the A-Z on CNC. It is merely a hobby to me, and I work on a trial and error basis. If it works, it works!)
@Ichoros
@Ichoros 7 месяцев назад
@@agorawoodcnc8701 Oh, thanks for the reply, i just noticed this sandwich material :) 1050 Aluminum is almost pure i think, so its soft and hard to find the right spot. Thats why im trying to get ideas from everyone. I used to work on 3d projects using 3ds and zbrush mostly, but i got hired in a company where they wanted me to use the cnc and went to vector and 2.5D stuff since im using the 3 axis table :D so im not that far from your "if it works dont change it" keep up the good work :)

@@Ichoros No problem 😄 You should really check out the I-Bond if you want to do normal 2D stuff as well! I really love the material! I honestly wish I could give you advice, but I have never tried 3D before. All the best on your journey. And feel free to share your work! Thank you so much!

I wonder how a laser engraving would look on the top surface? Have you tried ordering this material through Amazon or do you use a different source?
@agorawoodcnc8701
@agorawoodcnc8701 7 месяцев назад
@@thesplinteredfingerHi there! I have a diode laser, which apparently does not work because the silver/shiny surface reflects the laser. So, I haven't tried that yet. But a different type of laser will perhaps work. I often engrave on this material with bits, and it looks REALLY nice, considering that the material has a black polyethylene core.
