I agree. it seems like beasty overcommitted to water and left way too much pressure on his teammates. I think a half water and land strategy would have been better.

@@jasonyun1158 Beasty's teammates were practically 2 vs 5 on the main island, which was guaranteed GG. Beasty's micro probably would have been good enough to fight on land while also clearing out the water.

@@WillieFungo but you have to think like this too, beasty going water saved his early water eco, without being prepared, he lost his fishing ships and costal units/buildings there resulting in having to rely on food on middle while being cut off from his starting location + the pressure of maintaining food, space, and other eco on center, island which is the most contended spot. beasty going on water forced 3 people to make ships and fight on water and protected all their trades instead of focusing on already losing battle. also he basically won a 3v1 on water because he full committed. ships arnt cheap either, especially warships. "assuming" and playing off "facts" are two different things. "his micro probably wouldve been good enough" is not good enough for me. your play essentially gives up the best food option on the map/game and forces you to be all in. What if they go even and the 3 conqs have no access to water and trade and one of the diamonds makes a wonder? what then? what if you dont have enough space for all 3 players farm eco + defenses + productions? giving up water on a map like this sounds dented to me. even with having full control 3v5 what r u gonna do when carracks destroy all of your costal buildings and just build siege work shops and stables infront of their ships? you ran out of rss in the middle and cant trade because of ships and have to rely on shit inland trade for 40 gold a trip. you heard beasty at the start, youll realize you run of gold really fast. its no surprise they lost on a water map.
