When I was young I like rock music and country music sounded crazy but being a bit older it's actually really cool and there are some well chilled heads hidden out in the sticks of the USA....
Hey dude, turn your guitar to the camera. It’s difficult to see what you’re doing in conjunction with your description. However, I like the lesson and look forward to it
Thanks Chris, I have played Rock guitar for 40 years and have just started my journey into understanding Country guitar. Your lesson was fun and Helpful.
Great lesson Chris. The sound you’re getting immediately makes me think of Randy Travis! Great stuff...and yes, country is awesome! Brad Paisley is one of my all time favs 👍
Another amazing video Chris, I love country and have built up a plethora of these "steel bends" ill share some with ya if ya like ;) always drooling over a b bender and trying (and failing) to do it without one like Johnny Hiland! Duke Levine is the man!! my fav record is definitely Country Soul Guitar. good work mate! keep em coming.
That’s awesome man! I love this style of guitar playing and it’s always great to see more examples of how to pull this sound off! 😃 you have exceptional taste my friend! 👌🏻
Great video mate! Technique is very important but equally important is the tone. What reverb pedal along with the type of reverb are you using and amp to get that beautiful sound?
question: Ernie ball sells 10 string steel pedal strings. afaik the scale is not so different (24 inches), would those strings fit a "normal guitar" (choosing either the top 6 or any combination?) the gauges go from 10 to 38 🤔 i am just wondering
What about open tunings and slides? Those are key in the pedal steel sound. Maybe if people want to sound like a pedal steel without investing in the whole kit, they should look into lap steel. Richard Thompson does a passable impression of a pedal steel on his cover of Hank Williams's "Why Don't You Love Me?" using a Strat I think, but generally country lead guitar and pedal steel don't sound like each other.
